Chapter 114 The Slaughter

Bai Ye approached the alien, kicking it and confirming it was no longer moving.

"It really does have a weakness!"

The alien's head was an elongated oval, covered in a very sturdy shell. It lacked a discernible neck, or rather, its neck was extremely short, making the head appear as if it were fused to its body.

After Bai Ye forced open the alien's head, he discovered that the lower part, where it connected to the body, lacked any shell. Instead, it was covered by a viscous membrane. This allowed for easy penetration of the alien's body from this position, and even direct access into its brain to attack it.

Bai Ye exclaimed that he had learned something new; strange knowledge seemed to be increasing.

Actually, this weak point…

Bai Ye pondered for a moment. It wasn't easy to target, being at the back and only a small area connected to the body. It wasn't ideal for attack. It would be easier to just throw two talisman charms into the alien's mouth and blow it up.

However, knowing a weakness was better than not knowing one. If the opportunity arose, it could still be utilized.

Bai Ye mused as he walked over to the Predator. He tapped the Predator's mask, but there was no reaction. He then glanced at the wound on the Predator's abdomen; its insides were spilling out. It was clearly dead.

"What the heck!"

Bai Ye was speechless. What was this all about?

He had been inexplicably caught in the crossfire, and then, inexplicably, the two instigators had killed each other.

What was his role in all of this?

Bai Ye shook his head, then got up and continued moving forward.

Bai Ye felt the need to pick up the pace.

The facehuggers had already hatched and infested many people. Judging by the condition of the corpses, their chests had been ripped open, indicating that a large number of aliens had been born.

Although newborn aliens weren't very strong, their growth rate was extremely rapid. After killing just two or three people and absorbing nutrients, they could evolve into their adult forms. Therefore, as time passed, Bai Ye could imagine that the research base would likely be crawling with aliens.

Moreover, this was a vicious cycle: aliens would continue to kill and reproduce, their numbers increasing. More people would die, fueling further alien reproduction…

Therefore, before things worsened, he had to find the Predalien quickly, defeat it, and then leave the research base.

Bai Ye thought as he walked through the next corridor, and his brow furrowed.

Such a strong smell of blood!

Bai Ye opened the room at the end of the corridor, and the smell of blood practically assaulted him.

This was an entertainment room, complete with a private mini-theater, a wet bar, some exercise equipment, and even a corner with a few arcade machines. It was likely a place for the research team to relax and rest.

However, there were no bodies here.

This made Bai Ye's frown deepen. If there were no bodies in the entertainment room, it meant the smell of blood was coming from further away. The further the blood smell drifted, the greater the number of deaths, possibly indicating a massacre.

Bai Ye didn't linger. He opened the door on the other side of the entertainment room and continued forward. True enough, the moment the door opened, the smell of blood became even more pronounced. Bai Ye then glanced at the sign hanging in the corridor.

"Area A2?" Bai Ye was momentarily stunned. "Isn't that where they called for people to gather on the broadcast? I remember it was the cafeteria, wasn't it?"

Bai Ye thought as he walked to the end of the corridor and opened the sliding door.

The next instant, a horrifying sight of corpses appeared before Bai Ye.

Behind the door was the A2 area cafeteria. The ground was littered with bodies, both human and beast companion. Blood had almost submerged the entire cafeteria, and the pungent smell of blood was mixed with a foul odor.

More importantly…

Standing around the corpses were over a dozen Predators, who were in the process of inventorying the bodies to confirm if everyone was dead.

Almost instantly, Bai Ye turned and ran without hesitation.

Bang, bang…

As Bai Ye turned and fled, two Predators fired their shoulder cannons.

With a thunderous roar!

The shoulder cannons struck the door, shattering the sliding door into pieces.

The two Predators tried to pursue, but they were stopped by a taller Predator. After gesturing towards the surrounding corpses, the taller Predator personally chased into the corridor.

On the other side, Bai Ye sprinted at full speed.

Damn it, over a dozen Predators. What was there to fight? It was clearly a setup to get beaten.

Just then…

Behind Bai Ye, a "buzzing" sound suddenly rang out.

Bai Ye looked back and saw that a metallic boomerang had appeared behind him at some point, flying towards him at high speed.

Bai Ye gauged its speed and decisively stopped. The boomerang was faster than he had anticipated.

He couldn't outrun it!

"Ning Shuang, Ice Barrier!"

Bai Ye immediately summoned his Ning Shuang sword. A wave of frost spread out, and an ice wall instantly rose from the ground.

With a bang, the boomerang pierced the ice wall. However, due to the ice wall's obstruction, the metal boomerang deviated significantly from its original trajectory. It grazed past Bai Ye and embedded itself in the wall behind him.

But Bai Ye didn't even have a chance to sigh in relief. With a "whoosh," a fist smashed through the ice wall and grabbed Bai Ye's clothes.

Bang!

The large hand yanked forcefully backward, and Bai Ye was sent crashing into the ice wall, shattering it.

Bai Ye stumbled to the ground, then pushed himself up, and looked forward.

A single Predator?

Bai Ye was slightly taken aback, then couldn't help but grin.

He seemed to have been underestimated!

However, Bai Ye was pleased with this underestimation.

Fighting a group of Predators would indeed be too difficult. A single volley of shoulder cannon blasts would be enough for Bai Ye to handle, but if it was just one…

Who was afraid of whom!

Bai Ye charged forward, reaching the Predator and delivering a flying kick.

Clang!

The Predator raised its left arm, which bore a rectangular piece of iron. Suddenly, a mechanical whirring sound was heard. The iron piece was actually composed of countless overlapping metal plates. As they spread outward, the plates formed a circle, revealing a circular arm shield.

Bai Ye's kick landed. The Predator's body swayed, and it took half a step back to stabilize itself. It was evident that the power gap between them was not significant.

After taking the kick, the Predator, taking advantage of Bai Ye's unstable footing, extended its right hand forward, and the wrist blade on its arm slashed towards Bai Ye.

Bai Ye's pupils contracted. Suddenly, his five fingers formed into claws, and he struck forward.

"Dragon Claw Hand!"

Bai Ye, in mid-air, flicked his arm, dodging the wrist blade while simultaneously grabbing the Predator's wrist!
