Chapter 114 Massacre

Bai Ye approached the Xenomorph, kicked it, and found it was truly still.

"It really does have a weakness!"

The Xenomorph's head was an elongated oval shape, covered in extremely tough carapace. It had no discernible neck, or rather, a very short one, making the entire head appear fused to its body.

After Bai Ye forcefully pried open the Xenomorph's head, he discovered that the underside, where it connected to the body, lacked any carapace. Instead, it was covered by a layer of viscous membrane. This allowed him to easily pierce the Xenomorph's body from this position, even reaching directly into its brain and attacking it.

Bai Ye exclaimed that he had learned something, and his strange knowledge base seemed to have expanded again.

Actually, this weak point...

Bai Ye pondered for a moment. It wasn't easy to exploit. It was located at the rear and only covered a small area where it connected to the body, making it difficult to attack. It would be much simpler to just throw a couple of Taoist talismans into the Xenomorph's mouth and blow it up.

However, knowing a weakness was better than not knowing one. If the opportunity arose, it could still be utilized.

Bai Ye thought as he walked over to the Predator. He tapped the Predator's face mask, but there was no response. He then looked at the wound on the Predator's abdomen. Its innards had spilled out; it was thoroughly dead.

"What the heck!"

Bai Ye was speechless. What was this all about?

He was inexplicably caught in the crossfire, and then inexplicably, the two instigators had killed each other.

What was his role in all this?

Bai Ye shook his head, then got up and continued walking forward.

Bai Ye felt that he needed to pick up the pace.

The Facehuggers had already hatched and infested many people. Judging by the condition of the corpses, with their chests ripped open, it meant a large number of Xenomorphs had already been born.

Although newborn Xenomorphs weren't very powerful, they grew incredibly fast. After killing just two or three people and absorbing nutrients, they could transform into their mature form. Therefore, as time passed, Bai Ye could imagine the research base being overrun with Xenomorphs.

And this was a vicious cycle: Xenomorphs continuously killed people, continuously reproduced, increasing their numbers, leading to more deaths, and further Xenomorph reproduction.

Thus, he had to find the Xenomorph Predator quickly and eliminate it before the situation worsened, then leave the research base.

As Bai Ye mused, he walked through the next corridor and immediately frowned.

Such a strong smell of blood!

Bai Ye opened the door at the end of the corridor, and the smell of blood hit him like a wave.

This was an entertainment room, complete with a small private cinema, a wet bar, some fitness equipment, and even a corner with several arcade machines. It seemed to be a place for the research team to relax and unwind.

However, there were no corpses here.

This made Bai Ye's frown deepen. If there were no bodies in the entertainment room, it meant the blood smell was drifting from further away. And the further the blood smell drifted, the greater the number of deaths it indicated, suggesting a massacre.

Bai Ye didn't linger. He opened the door on the other side of the entertainment room and continued forward. As expected, the moment the door opened, the smell of blood became even more pronounced. Bai Ye then glanced at the sign hanging in the corridor.

"Area A2?" Bai Ye was taken aback. "Isn't that where the broadcast called for everyone to gather? I remember it being the cafeteria?"

As he thought, Bai Ye reached the end of the corridor and opened the sliding door.

The next moment, a scene of corpses appeared before Bai Ye's eyes.

Behind the door was the Area A2 cafeteria. The ground was littered with bodies, both human and beast-like, their blood almost soaking the entire room. Mingled with the pungent smell of blood was a foul odor.

More importantly...

Around the corpses stood over a dozen Predators, who were checking the bodies to ensure everyone was dead.

Almost instantly, Bai Ye turned and fled without hesitation.

*Bang, bang...*

As Bai Ye turned and sprinted, two Predators fired their shoulder cannons.

With a deafening roar!

The shoulder cannons struck the door, shattering the sliding door into pieces.

The two Predators tried to pursue, but a larger, more imposing Predator stopped them. After gesturing towards the surrounding corpses, the towering Predator personally gave chase down the corridor.

Meanwhile, Bai Ye was running at full speed.

Damn it, over a dozen Predators, what kind of fight is this? It's obviously a setup for a beating.

Just then...

A "buzzing" sound erupted from behind Bai Ye.

Bai Ye turned his head and saw that a metal boomerang had appeared behind him at some point and was hurtling towards him.

Bai Ye gauged its speed and decisively stopped. The boomerang was faster than he had anticipated.

He couldn't outrun it!

"Ning Shuang, Ice Wall!"

Bai Ye decisively summoned his Ning Shuang sword. A wave of frost spread out, and an ice wall instantly rose from the ground.

With a "bang," the boomerang pierced the ice wall. However, thanks to the ice wall's obstruction, the metal boomerang's trajectory was significantly altered. It whizzed past Bai Ye and embedded itself in the wall behind him.

But Bai Ye didn't even have a chance to sigh in relief. With a "whoosh," a fist smashed through the ice wall and grabbed Bai Ye's clothes.

*Bang!*

The large hand yanked him backward forcefully, causing Bai Ye to crash into the ice wall, shattering it.

Bai Ye stumbled to the ground, then used his hands to push himself up, and looked forward.

A single Predator?

Bai Ye was slightly stunned, then couldn't help but grin.

He seemed to have been underestimated!

But Bai Ye was pleased with this underestimation.

A group of Predators would indeed be too difficult to handle. Even a single round of shoulder cannon bombardment would be enough for Bai Ye, but if it was just one...

Who was afraid of whom!

Bai Ye charged forward, approaching the Predator, and delivered a flying kick.

*Clang!*

The Predator raised its left arm. On its forearm was a rectangular piece of iron. Suddenly, a mechanical whirring sound could be heard. The iron piece was composed of countless overlapping metal plates. As they spread outwards, the plates formed a circle, revealing a forearm shield.

Bai Ye's kick landed, and the Predator's body swayed. It retreated half a step to steady itself, indicating that their strength was not vastly different.

After taking the kick, the Predator seized the opportunity while Bai Ye was off-balance and extended its right hand forward. The wrist blade on its wrist swung towards Bai Ye.

Bai Ye's pupils constricted. He suddenly formed his fingers into a claw and reached forward.

"Dragon Claw Hand!"

In mid-air, Bai Ye twitched his arm, evading the wrist blade while simultaneously grabbing the Predator's wrist!
