Chapter 364 You do as he tells you

Fu Jingshu went to open the door. He returned a moment later, holding a tray with two glasses of juice.

He placed the juice on the table. "Want some?"

Shen Qingqing shook her head. She had just put on lip gloss and didn't want to drink, but the juice was close, and a sweet fruit aroma wafted towards her.

She paused for a moment and sniffed.

"What's wrong?" Fu Jingshu had been watching her and noticed immediately.

Shen Qingqing picked up the juice and sniffed it carefully. "Something's not right. Go get the old man."

Fu Jingshu didn't ask any more questions and turned to go.

A short while later, he returned with the old man, who had been busy preparing medicine. He was in a bad mood at being summoned, but he patiently addressed Shen Qingqing when he saw her.

"What is it?"

"Take a look at this juice."

The old man picked up a glass of juice and brought it to his lips.

Fu Jingshu raised an eyebrow.

"It's fine," Shen Qingqing said, sensing his thoughts. She grabbed his hand. "He's so used to tasting poisons, nothing can poison him now."

Fu Jingshu observed for a moment. The old man indeed showed no abnormalities. He pursed his lips, as if tasting.

Finally, he put the juice glass down on the table with a look of disgust, pushing it far away. "A laxative, and quite a bit of it."

Shen Qingqing paused. "Do you want to rinse your mouth?"

"Why would I rinse my mouth?" the old man frowned at her. "Do you think this rubbish can poison me? I could eat this stuff as a dish and be fine."

His body had long been immune to all poisons. A mere laxative was nothing.

Shen Qingqing chuckled. "I shouldn't have asked."

The old man grunted and said, "You'd better check and see who put the laxative in it. This person has malicious intentions, and they put in quite a bit."

Anyone who didn't understand medicine would inevitably be sick for a day and a night, causing them great embarrassment.

Shen Qingqing fell into thought.

Fu Jingshu, however, was more direct. He immediately summoned the waiter from earlier. The waiter was about to flee, but Fu Jingshu caught him and dragged him back into the room.

Seeing the scowling old man and Shen Qingqing, his face turned pale.

"What happened?"

The waiter was still trying to act calm. The old man snorted. "You're trying to drug my girl, are you? You've got guts. I think you're tired of living."

"I didn't drug anyone!"

The waiter denied it vehemently.

The old man didn't ask any more questions and started patting his pockets. Shen Qingqing asked, "What are you looking for?"

"I remember I brought a bottle of 'Drunken Dream Death' with me when I came out."

"Drunken Dream Death, that's the poison you just developed, right? It feels like ten thousand ants drilling into your heart, making you wish you were dead. Even if you faint, the pain continues until you die. And there's no antidote?" Shen Qingqing's eyes flickered, and she described it deliberately.

"Yes, that's the one!"

Their conversation, ignoring him, made the waiter tremble with fear. But he held onto a sliver of hope. Poisoning was a crime!

He had only put in a laxative; he could claim it wasn't intentional.

But poisoning was considered malicious.

He still didn't believe these two dared to do such a thing.

But facts proved they did. The old man slapped his forehead. "I must have left it in the room. I'll go back and get it. You keep an eye on him and don't let him run away!"

He started running towards the door, grumbling.

This terrified the waiter even more.

Seeing that he was on the verge of breaking down from fear, Shen Qingqing gave Fu Jingshu a look.

He moved quickly, catching up to the old man and easily pulling him back. The old man was still displeased, feeling they were disrupting his fun.

"It's rare for me to find someone to test my medicine on, what are you guys doing?"

Shen Qingqing chuckled. "Don't rush. There will be opportunities. For now, let's hear why he drugged us with a laxative."

The old man had no choice but to sit down patiently, his gaze fiercely fixed on the waiter, looking ominous, as if ready to test his medicine on him at any moment.

"You can't do this to me! Poisoning me is illegal!"

The waiter swallowed, terrified.

Shen Qingqing, however, spoke gently. "Don't be afraid, we won't poison you. We just want to ask you a few questions. Just answer them truthfully."

"I really don't know what you want to ask. I don't know anything..."

Shen Qingqing smiled slightly, but there was a cold edge to her smile. "Old man, it's all yours."

"Alright, don't worry, I have decomposition powder. I guarantee no one will find any clues!"

The old man was extremely excited and rubbed his hands as he approached the waiter. The waiter trembled all over, his mind in a chaotic mess. He blurted out.

"I'll talk, I'll talk! I put the laxative in!"

The old man froze instantly and looked at him with disappointment.

He turned and sat on the sofa, emanating a low-pressure aura.

"He's a pervert!"

The waiter breathed a sigh of relief. Since he had confessed, there was no need to hide anything else. "It was me, but it wasn't my idea. Someone instructed me!"

"Who?"

"Eisen."

"You did it just because he told you to?"

The waiter's face was mournful. "I had no choice. He's the young master of the Tucker family. I'm just a waiter. If I don't obey, I'll be dealt with..."

Losing his job would be the least of it. Offending Tucker and Eisen meant he had no future.

Shen Qingqing asked again, "When he gave you the medicine, were there any witnesses or recordings?"

"No, Young Master Eisen was very cautious. He gave it to me in the restroom." The waiter then realized he had no way to prove Eisen had instructed him, and panicked. "Believe me, it was truly Eisen who told me to do it. I have no grudge against you, why would I do this?"

"Which room does Eisen stay in?"

Shen Qingqing asked casually.

"302."

Shen Qingqing nodded, then looked at the waiter. "Alright, you can go now. But after you leave, you should know what you can and cannot say, right?"

The waiter didn't expect to be allowed to leave and felt a sense of surviving a disaster. "I know, don't worry, I won't say a word!"

Shen Qingqing waved her hand. The waiter scrambled to his feet and practically crawled out of the room.

Once outside, seeing the sunlight, he felt as if he had come back to life, almost shedding tears of joy.

Inside the room, the old man suddenly stood up, a mixture of anger and joy. Anger that someone dared to bully the girl, and joy that he had a reason to find someone to test his medicine on.

His poisons were all potent, of course, but they wouldn't kill people, though they could make them wish they were dead.

As for the decomposition powder... that was just to scare the waiter.

He was a law-abiding citizen; he didn't kill people.

"Wait a moment!" Shen Qingqing called out to stop him. "This is such a small matter, do you really need to get involved? Besides, ordinary people can't handle your poisons."

The old man touched his nose, looking a bit sheepish, but didn't argue. "So, you're just going to let it go?"

"Let it go? Of course not. Don't worry, I have my own way." Shen Qingqing pulled the old man to sit beside her, knowing his temperament and that she had to placate him. "Just watch my methods."

The old man was quite regretful. "My hands are itching..."

Shen Qingqing chuckled. "Don't worry, when we find your unfilial disciple, you'll have your chance. I won't help you then. If you get poisoned by your disciple, I'll laugh at you!"

"Nonsense, do you think I'd lose to him?"

The old man said so, but he was a little uncertain in his heart. That little brat was very talented. If he did lose, he wouldn't fear death, but he would fear humiliation.

So, he stopped bothering about Eisen and hurried back to his room to research poisons.
