Chapter 625 Taking the Lead

Sima Yucheng glanced at the villa. "So, what are you planning to do now? Should I go and scout it out for you?" After all, Fu Tingyi was now his creditor and would likely be happy to see him.

"Why are you suddenly so kind?" Shen Qingqing looked at him with a half-smile.

Sima Yucheng avoided her gaze, his voice a little muffled. "You're the one who can help me pay off my debts now, so of course I hope this cooperation of ours goes smoothly." More importantly, he had his own grievances with Fu Tingyi. They had agreed to an alliance, only for his closest ally to betray him the worst! If it weren't for that gambling agreement, he wouldn't be in this predicament today, nor would his true identity have been revealed by Shen Qingqing.

Shen Qingqing felt he wasn't beyond saving. "You see now, some people are like tigers. Cooperating with them is like seeking a tiger's skin, and it never ends well." From their confrontations, she had come to understand that Sima Yucheng wasn't that smart; it had always been Fu Tingyi making the moves behind the scenes. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been so arrogant in the company for so long, only to end up with a mere five percent of the shares. The only thing he had done without any flaws was likely the successful concealment of his background.

Sima Yucheng gritted his teeth, a flicker of ruthlessness in his eyes. "I know, Fu Tingyi is a scumbag, a beast! A bastard!" He then instinctively looked at Fu Jingshu. He only then realized that the person he was just cursing was the father of the man standing before him.

But Fu Jingshu seemed unfazed. His gaze remained fixed ahead, on the direction of the villa. "Someone's coming out."

The two immediately stopped talking and looked towards the villa. They saw two men in matching work uniforms, carrying watering cans, heading into the garden. They were likely the gardeners.

"So what are you planning to do..." Sima Yucheng's words trailed off as he saw Shen Qingqing crouch down and retrieve her backpack. After she had taken the children home, she had acquired a backpack, and Sima Yucheng had been quite curious about its contents. But he hadn't dared to ask. Now he realized it contained a laptop.

Shen Qingqing sat down on the ground, placed the laptop on her lap, and her fingers flew across the keyboard at a speed that stunned Sima Yucheng. "You have this skill too?"

"Why wouldn't I?" Shen Qingqing replied without looking up. Even as she spoke, her movements were a blur, too fast for the eye to follow. Sima Yucheng looked at the lines of letters on the computer screen. He could understand each individual word, but when combined, they formed an inscrutable enigma. He instinctively glanced at Fu Jingshu. The man watched the villa in the distance, his expression completely unreadable, clearly unsurprised by all of this.

Sima Yucheng felt defeated. No wonder he had lost so thoroughly. These two, husband and wife, were terrifyingly formidable!

Shen Qingqing soon looked up from the computer. "I see. There are a few bodyguards inside, but not many, and the surveillance cameras aren't very strict either." It was evident how confident Fu Jingshu was about this place; he didn't worry about anyone finding it.

Sima Yucheng leaned in curiously and saw that the screen displayed surveillance footage from inside the villa. However, apart from the maids and bodyguards, no one else was visible. Fu Tingyi, the children, or the young woman were nowhere to be seen.

Sima Yucheng looked at Shen Qingqing and said nervously, "I really didn't lie to you. I came here to find Fu Tingyi last time!" He had even taken several detours and changed cars to avoid being followed.

Just then, Fu Jingshu's phone rang. It was Lin Mo calling. "Master Fu, I had someone investigate the person who appeared at Sima Group that day. Their background is simple, orphaned, a lawyer specializing in such matters. He claims to have been hired by Fu Tingyi, but they haven't actually met. They communicate by phone."

"Understood." After hanging up, Fu Jingshu relayed the information to his wife.

Shen Qingqing glanced at Sima Yucheng. With all other leads exhausted, Sima Yucheng was their only remaining avenue...

"I really didn't lie to you!" Sima Yucheng felt she was doubting him and grew flustered.

"I know you didn't lie," Shen Qingqing said, not doubting Sima Yucheng, but she had a premonition that they might be returning empty-handed this time. Fu Tingyi, having fallen out with Sima Yucheng, would surely be on guard and would have changed his residence.

Sima Yucheng asked anxiously, "Then what do we do? Are we still going in?"

"Of course, we're going in." They had come this far; to leave without entering would be a wasted trip, which was not Shen Qingqing's style. She memorized the layout of the villa from the surveillance footage, closed the laptop, and turned around to see police cars gradually approaching. The police car didn't sound its siren and stopped at a considerable distance. It seemed Officer Wang also knew how conspicuous his patrol car was.

Shen Qingqing walked over and briefly explained the situation to Officer Wang. Officer Wang pondered, "This is a bit difficult. We have no grounds to enter and search." Their identities were now inconvenient.

Shen Qingqing looked deeply at Officer Wang. "I have a plan."

"What is it?"

"As long as you surround the villa and prevent anyone from escaping, we can definitely enter and search smoothly." Officer Wang had a bad feeling. "You're not planning to use the same trick again, are you?"

Shen Qingqing's lips curved into a sly smile. "Using the same trick isn't impossible. The move isn't new, as long as it works."

"This..." Officer Wang was extremely conflicted. As a police officer, he shouldn't resort to deceptive tactics against the public, yet doing so was precisely to help the public and solve the case, to find the missing child as soon as possible.

Shen Qingqing didn't rush, waiting for his reply. She was quite confident Officer Wang would agree. Just like last time, he hadn't blamed her even when he knew she had gone to the club, and had even praised her for doing a good job. The officers also looked at him.

Officer Wang asked, "Are you absolutely sure Fu Tingyi is here?" He stared sharply at Sima Yucheng, making the latter's back chill, but he still nodded. "I'm not sure now, but I really saw him here before. I came here to meet him, and my dashcam won't lie." Although he had changed cars, they were all his, and each had a dashcam. By piecing them together, he could deduce the route and time he took, and even recorded the villa outside the car at the time.

"Alright, we'll do it your way!" Officer Wang gritted his teeth and compromised.

"I'll lead the way." Shen Qingqing would again be the bait. Fu Jingshu wanted to go, but Shen Qingqing stopped him, taking out a pile of strangely shaped small toys from her pocket. There were miniature bombs, firecrackers, and even lollipops, all looking very realistic.

Sima Yucheng stared in amazement. "What are these?" The officers also crowded around to look.
