Chapter 550 Please Ask Doctor Shen to Draw a Little Blood

When Qin Nishui heard from his subordinates that Qin Ningyi had brought Shen Wuyou into the holding cell, he realized the seriousness of the situation.

He walked to the holding cell and heard the prisoner's curses. Qin Nishui quickly strode over and saw a prisoner being held down by Qin Ningyi's foot, while Shen Wuyou was drawing blood.

Those outside the holding cell dared not step forward. Although Qin Ningyi's face was covered by a protective suit, they could still feel the oppressive storm brewing from him.

"Nonsense!" Qin Nishui pushed open the door and struck Qin Ningyi across the face with his palm.

What kind of desperate measure was this?

Qin Ningyi's foot did not ease its pressure. He calmly turned his head back and said, "Uncle, why do you say that?"

His voice was terrifyingly calm, yet filled with utter madness. Qin Nishui was momentarily stunned. He had always known his nephew to be unflappable in the face of disaster, calm and composed since childhood, the most suitable soldier.

But now, feeling Qin Ningyi's ruthlessness and coldness, he realized how could a man who quickly established a strong business presence be what they had assumed him to be?

The two men on the ground were barely clinging to life, their faint breaths echoing in the small room.

Shen Wuyou did not stop his actions, and blood continued to flow from the tubes on the two men into small vials.

"Stop it!" Qin Nishui shouted. "Even if you drain him dry, what good will it do? Stop this nonsense!"

Qin Ningyi adjusted his cap and said with a smile, his voice meek, "Why is it nonsense? Uncle, since they are not infected, they must have antibodies, or at the very least, an antidote."

At his words, Qin Nishui looked at the people on the ground with a hint of doubt.

A pile of vials had already been drawn. Even for research...

"I've asked Dr. Shen to help draw some blood for analysis. It could also help Yizhou defeat the virus."

His reasoning was sound.

Every word was spoken methodically, exhibiting his usual steady and calm demeanor.

If the men lying on the ground were not those who had harassed Huo Rou and attempted to abduct her, Qin Nishui would have unhesitatingly exclaimed, "That makes sense." He looked at the vials on the ground and then spoke, "Still, you don't need this much."

"There are differences between people." Qin Ningyi stretched his ankle. The person beneath his foot cried out in pain. Qin Ningyi looked at Shen Wuyou. "Isn't that right, Doctor Shen?"

"Mm." Shen Wuyou nodded, deftly removed the tubes filled with crimson blood, and replaced them with empty ones.

Qin Nishui's deputy murmured, "That should be enough, right..."

They still needed to interrogate them. They hadn't said anything after hours of questioning. The men couldn't die!

Qin Ningyi casually glanced at the contents on the ground. "Yes. It should be enough."

Shen Wuyou added in a serious tone, "Draw one more tube."

The two men, already near death from the beating, whimpered at the words. They might not fear death, but the feeling of blood leaving their bodies was too vivid. This process of awaiting death was the most torturous.

Finally, they thought Qin Nishui's appearance would stop Qin Ningyi and his group, but their hope was dashed. More blood was to be drawn!

Just as the two men thought they would be drained dry, Shen Wuyou finally began to pack up his equipment.

They watched as vial after vial of blood was packed into large boxes, feeling both relieved and dizzy.

Before they could recover, Qin Ningyi casually moved his body again. The pain they felt was as if their internal organs were being squeezed together.

"Where did you come from?" Qin Ningyi asked indifferently.

The two men gritted their teeth and remained silent.

"This amount of blood should not be enough for experiments. Rest up, and we'll continue tomorrow," Qin Ningyi said casually. "After all, it's for the sake of all the citizens in the city."

Having already been terrified by the day's events, their bodies involuntarily began to tremble at Qin Ningyi's words.

Shen Wuyou, while packing, glanced sideways.

"Qin Ningyi!" One of them, unable to bear it any longer, shouted with all his might.

"Slap—" The vial of blood in Shen Wuyou's hand accidentally fell to the ground. The cap seemed to have not been secured properly, spilling everywhere, right beside the two men's heads.

A dampness spread.

The two men's eyes widened. Shen Wuyou, however, took out a new syringe from his medical kit. "One spilled. Please cooperate a little more."

With that, the needle pierced their skin.

A coldness swept through their bodies.

Both men were terrified by Qin Ningyi's righteous demeanor and Shen Wuyou's politeness.

This combination of theirs was too much like the eccentric doctor at the factory; it was terrifying!

"I'll talk! I'll talk!" The two men shook like sieves. Their minds flickered between the factory doctor's indifference and madness, and then Qin Ningyi and Shen Wuyou. They were truly going mad!

The two began to speak one after another. Qin Nishui stood by, his mood complex. He couldn't tell if Qin Ningyi's actions were for venting anger, for collecting blood, or for interrogation.
