Two cups of tea

Chapter 21 Saving Someone at the Barbecue Stall

"An'an, be good. You're too young. Help me call the police..." Qin Ningyi hadn't finished speaking when An'an's tearful voice rang out.

"That's Sister Zhaodi! Dad, stop the car quickly, Sister Zhaodi!" An'an was very excited. Just as Zhaodi was about to get up from the ground, she was kicked down again by a nearby man in black.

Under the dim streetlights, in the bustling night market, the onlookers in the distance seemed to be only this spot in silence.

Seeing how anxious An'an was, Qin Ningyi stopped the car after thinking for a moment.

"You wait in the car..." Before he could finish speaking, before he could even unbuckle his seatbelt, An'an opened the door and rushed out.

An'an ran very fast and reached Li Zhaodi in an instant.

He spread his arms and blocked in front of Li Zhaodi. "You uncles are bullying my sister, and that's not right!"

The burly men hadn't expected to intimidate the people around them, but they hadn't scared away a little child. He even dared to rush over and lecture them.

The few of them looked at each other and burst into laughter.

"Hahahaha, Big Brother, a baby still in diapers dares to step forward!" a guy with dyed yellow hair laughed so hard he couldn't stand up straight.

"Little one, it has nothing to do with you. Go back and drink milk! Don't block my way!" The man in black who had initially pulled Zhaodi's hair walked forward and reached out to push An'an.

"An'an!" Zhaodi was in pain, but seeing him about to hit An'an, she anxiously tried to get up from the ground.

Qin Ningyi also opened the car door and ran over. Seeing that it was too late.

An'an nimbly bent backward and dodged.

"Yo! Quite agile. No wonder you're stepping up." The man in black walked over, a ferocious smile on his face. "You dare to oppose us, you must be tired of living!"

With that, he kicked out. The people around them couldn't bear to watch and closed their eyes, muttering, "He's just a child. Stop hitting him!"

"Stop hitting, stop hitting."

"What a sin!"

The leader of the burly men glanced at the surroundings. The劝说(persuasive) voices quieted down, and it seemed to return to silence.

An'an's face was stern, and he didn't take a step back. He crouched down, ready to defend himself.

Zhaodi struggled to get up and stood in front of An'an.

Just as the burly man was about to kick An'an, Qin Ningyi stepped on the man's knee.

"Crack."

A sound of something breaking was heard. The burly man fell to the ground in pain, howling and clutching his knee.

"Who are you? Don't meddle in other people's business!" The yellow-haired man, seeing Qin Ningyi's agile movements, was somewhat frightened. But upon seeing his five or six brothers, he instantly felt emboldened. "Ask around who my Big Brother is. How dare you interfere?"

Qin Ningyi glanced at An'an. An'an understood.

He helped Li Zhaodi to retreat.

"Disturbing the peace. I've already called the police," Qin Ningyi said with a cold face, looking at the five or six men who were approaching. Three of them were as burly as the men in black.

The people around them held their breath for him. It wasn't that no one had tried to intervene earlier; they had all been beaten away. This group of hooligans had been drunk and bullying young girls for days. Calling the police was useless; they would be out in a few days.

"Alas!" Some people were already sighing.

The owner of a nearby stall shouted from afar, "Brother, you should leave quickly. Brother Leopard is not someone you can afford to offend!"

"Did you hear that? Be sensible and leave. Today, we want this little beauty. It has nothing to do with you," the yellow-haired man said, puffing out his chest and acting arrogant, "Boss, right?"

The one called Brother Leopard didn't want to let it go. "You hit my brother. You're not leaving today either."

He rolled up his sleeves, revealing dense tattoos on his arm. "Brothers, attack! I'll take responsibility if anyone gets killed!"

They swarmed forward. Qin Ningyi's expression was ashen. While dodging, he unbuttoned his sleeves.

Seeing Qin Ningyi only dodging, they became more arrogant and attacked without restraint.

Qin Ningyi rolled up his sleeves and threw a straight punch. The yellow-haired man fell to the ground, clutching his mouth. His teeth ached, and his mouth was filled with the taste of blood.

Next, Qin Ningyi dodged and came up behind a red-haired man, executing a shoulder throw. The man, weighing nearly two hundred pounds, was thrown onto another accomplice. The two fell to the ground like a pile of stacked dolls.

"Damn it, he's trained?" Brother Leopard spat, beckoned, and three people attacked together.

The other two were quickly dealt with. Brother Leopard had clearly been trained and could block two of Qin Ningyi's moves. After two moves, he was also thrown to the ground by him.

A group of people lay on the ground, groaning. The surroundings erupted in applause. Qin Ningyi cast a cold glance around. He had called the police when he got out of the car, but they still hadn't arrived.

He frowned, walking towards An'an, and took out his phone to make a call.

"I've called the police. The night market near Liuli Alley. Find out why they haven't arrived yet."

After a brief phone call, he squatted down in front of An'an. An'an's eyes were bright, not scared at all. He looked at the girl beside him with a bruised and swollen face. "Zhaodi?"

Zhaodi nodded, twisting her injured part and hissing, "An'an's dad, I'm Li Zhaodi, An'an's neighbor."

Although her wounds were painful, Li Zhaodi politely introduced herself.

Qin Ningyi didn't ask further. "Can you walk? Get in the car with An'an and wait for me."

Li Zhaodi nodded and, with An'an's help, slowly moved towards the car.

An'an's admiring gaze had never left Qin Ningyi. Even after getting into the car, he kept looking from afar.

"Sister Zhaodi, my dad is so good at fighting, so cool!" An'an, looking at Qin Ningyi from afar through the car window as he watched the burly men sprawled on the ground, spoke with adoration.

"Yes, An'an's dad is very capable. Congratulations, An'an, for finding your dad." Li Zhaodi also followed his gaze. Qin Ningyi stood in the crowd with a cold expression, his back straight. She knew she was truly safe now.

Soon, police cars roared towards them. A person got out and quickly approached Qin Ningyi, bowing respectfully and introducing himself. He offered a cigarette, which Qin Ningyi refused.

"Director Wang, I believe you know the situation. I can go with you to make a statement now, but these people must be dealt with properly." Qin Ningyi's cold eyes were very intimidating, making it impossible to look him directly in the eye.

"No need, no need. Young Master Qin, you are busy. I will handle it." Director Wang glanced at Qin Ningyi's gaze, which was somewhat terrifying, and lowered his head with a smile.

Qin Ningyi nodded and walked towards the car. "If you need a statement, contact me. I will cooperate with you."

Getting into the car, Qin Ningyi started the engine, his face as cold as ice, showing no sign of melting. He tried to soften his tone and said to Li Zhaodi, "You're quite seriously injured. You should go to the hospital to get it checked."

Li Zhaodi waved her hand in refusal, but An'an stopped her. The father and son insisted on taking her to the hospital.

An'an said to Qin Ningyi from the back, "Dad, you're so amazing! So cool! An'an wants to learn too!"

"Don't rush out like that next time," Qin Ningyi said in a cold voice.

An'an's face immediately fell.

He said with a hint of defiance, "Sister Zhaodi was beaten like this. An'an couldn't not help!"

"I already told you to call the police. Rushing in like that is very dangerous, do you know that?" Qin Ningyi's heart pounded with fear when he thought of the kick the man in black had thrown, and his words became harsh.

"Saving people is not wrong!" An'an was angry, turning his head to the side. "A man should help when he sees injustice. If I hadn't saved Sister Zhaodi, she would have been beaten to death!"

"Bad dad." An'an was extremely upset. He had done a good deed, so why was his dad scolding him?
