Chapter 42 : New Adventures for Jax

Chapter 42: Chapter 42 : New Adventures for Jax

Jax stepped out of the shower, water dripping from his hair. He grabbed a towel and dried off quickly.

The exhaustion hit him hard. His body ached. He glanced at the clock—4 AM. Four hours until he needed to leave for the academy.

He collapsed onto the bed in the guest room, not wanting to disturb Paige. Sleep pulled him under almost instantly.

His alarm was set for 8 AM but he woke before it went off.

Something felt... off.

His eyes opened slowly. The room was dim and morning light barely filtering through the curtains.

Then he felt it. Warmth. Wetness.

He looked down.

Paige was there her head between his legs and her mouth sucking his dick.

Jax’s eyes widened. "Mother—not again."

She pulled back slightly also her lips were glistening. "I need to taste it. I don’t know when I’ll get this again. This weekend, you’ll be busy with that Jennifer bitch."

Her voice carried a hint of desperation, something he hadn’t heard from her before.

"Tell me, Jax. Am I not attractive enough? I can satisfy you more than her. Why do you need to go to them?"

Jax sighed, pulling himself up slightly. "It’s not about satisfaction. It’s not about that kind of perverted things either."

She frowned, confused.

He continued, voice quieter. "It’s different. Even I don’t fully understand why I’m excited about it. Maybe... maybe I just like breaking people. Seeing them beg. Seeing their egos crushed."

He paused, thinking back. ’It became my habit back on Earth. Dominating games. Dominating opponents. Watching them fall.’

Paige’s hand moved gently, her expression softening. "You’re exactly like me."

Jax blinked. "What?"

"Ruthless. Calculating. You take what you want." She looked away. "But... don’t talk to your mother the way you did last night. It hurt. I couldn’t sleep. I kept thinking about how harsh you were. How can I even apologize for how I treated you before?"

Jax met her eyes. "Your actions will tell. When the right time comes."

She nodded slowly. "Till then... will you at least acknowledge me?"

"I already do. Just not the way you’re used to."

Paige’s voice dropped, almost vulnerable. "I’ll be waiting for you, Jax. Your mother won’t force you anymore. Won’t command you. I’m yours. Use me however you want. Whenever you want."

Jax stared at her for a moment. This wasn’t the cold, dominating businesswoman he’d known. This was someone trying to rebuild a connection she’d destroyed.

He stood, pulling on his academy uniform. "I need to go."

She nodded, standing as well. "Be safe. And... good luck this weekend."

He smirked faintly. "I won’t need luck."

The academy grounds buzzed with energy when he arrived.

Eyes followed him everywhere.

Whispers. Stares. Pointing.

"That’s him."

"The guy from the bet."

"He took down six professionals alone."

"Did you see the clips? He dodged everything."

Jax walked through it all, expression neutral. He was used to attention. Back on Earth, his gaming highlights went viral constantly. This was no different.

He reached his classroom. More stares greeted him.

Some jealous. Some admiring. Some just curious.

He scanned the room quickly.

Kiera sat near the front, focused on her tablet, ignoring the noise around her. She didn’t look at him.

Ava sat a few rows back, calm as always. She glanced at him briefly, then returned to her notes.

Celestia sat near the window, poised and elegant. Her eyes flicked toward him, lingering for a moment before she looked away.

But Zinnia’s seat was empty.

’At this rate, she’ll be expelled,’ Jax thought. ’Attendance is strict here. No amount of money can save her from that. Wait... money. Right. She lost most of it. And the backlash from the bet will drain the rest.’

He took a seat at the back. He was late, so most of the good spots were taken. Kai sat near the front, talking animatedly with someone.

Class started. Jax barely paid attention. His mind was already on tomorrow.

When the lecture ended, students started filing out.

Kai jogged over, grinning. "Dude!Everyone’s talking about you!"

Jax shrugged. "It was just a match."

"Just a match? Bro, you destroyed six pros! Alone!" Kai laughed. "That’s insane!"

Before Jax could respond, a voice cut through the noise.

"Jax. Congratulations on your win."

He turned. Celestia stood there, hands folded, expression calm but her eyes sharp.

"Thanks," Jax said simply.

She stepped closer, her tone still cold but carrying a hint of something else. Interest, maybe. "You were impressive. I didn’t expect someone from your... gender to have that level of skill."

Jax smirked. "Low expectations make victories sweeter."

Her lips curved slightly. "Perhaps."

She reached into her bag and pulled out a small insignia—gold, engraved with a crest.

"Take this."

Jax took it, examining it. "What is it?"

"An invitation. To my mother’s 35th birthday celebration. The Queen of Solara."

Jax raised an eyebrow. "I thought invitations went to families."

"They do. Normally, a guard would deliver it to your mother. But I thought it best to give it to you directly." Her eyes met his. "You’re invited. And I’d be upset if you didn’t come."

Kai perked up beside him. "Really? Man, you should totally go! It’ll be fun. Otherwise, I’ll be bored out of my mind."

Celestia turned her gaze to Kai, cold. "Are you invited?"

Kai grinned. "Of course! My mom called yesterday and told me to apply for leave next week. She’s performing at the party."

Celestia’s expression softened slightly. "Ah, your mother. I forgot. The talk of this world"

Kai beamed. "Yeah! She’s super busy with work and these parties, so she doesn’t have much time for me. But she’s amazing! Let me tell you about her—"

Then he started his mother’s tales of greatness.

Celestia turned and walked away mid-sentence, clearly uninterested.

Kai blinked. "Uh... okay then."

Jax smirked. "You talk too much."

"Shut up."

Classes dragged on. By the time the academy day ended, Jax was back in his dorm.

He sat on his bed, staring at his device.

Before anything else, he opened the Insta-Rlight app—the academy’s social platform.

He typed out a quick post:

[Heading to Reed Mansion tomorrow to claim my prize from the bet. Just so everyone knows where I’ll be.]

He posted it publicly.

’If anything happens, it’s on them. Can’t afford any accusations.’

He leaned back, exhaling slowly.

Tomorrow was the day.

He opened his system screen, checking his DP balance.

[Current DP: 90]

’I need 100 for the item I want. Just 10 more points. Should be easy with what’s coming.’

His thoughts drifted.

Paige’s words echoed in his mind. ’I’m yours. Use me whenever you want.’

’I can always go back to her if I need more points.’

Then his mind shifted to the weekend ahead.

Jennifer. Zinnia. Both of them, together.

His smirk widened.

And then next week—the Queen’s birthday. Kai’s mother and Thalia’s mother. One of the hottest women in this world. An idol. A legend.

’This world really is full of amusement.’

He set his device down and closed his eyes.

Tomorrow would be interesting.

Very interesting.
