Chapter 44 Coincidentally, This Princess Consort Finds It Unlucky

As the guards behind Feng Yinwan immediately grabbed her arms, the guards in front were eager to act, their fists swinging almost as large as her head.

Granny Sun's face turned ashen, and she spoke in fear.

"Lord Yun, we can talk, we can talk!"

Feng Yinwan glanced at her, a cold smirk on her lips. "You say it, I'm listening."

To save her life, Granny Sun dared not make any more subtle moves.

"All of this... was arranged by Miss Qin. She ordered me to contact Zhao Si, intending to ruin the Princess's reputation, but an accident happened unexpectedly..."

The accident she mentioned was vague, and it was unclear whether she was referring to the events of the night Ye Tinglan returned home, or the incident in the garden during the Spring Festival ceremony.

Knowing her slipperiness, Feng Yinwan scoffed, "Then why are you on the street today?"

Granny Sun, thinking she was unaware of her true purpose, began to deceive her again.

"This old servant came out today to buy rouge for Miss Qin, it has nothing to do with this!"

"Is that so? You're buying rouge all the way to Changxing Street. Tell me, when did Changxing Street get a rouge shop!"

Seeing that she could not be fooled, Granny Sun gave a sheepish smile. "My lord, you truly have a discerning eye, nothing can escape you. This old servant was actually out delivering a message for Miss Qin."

"It was to the carriage driver, wasn't it?"

"L-Lord, how did you know!"

Feng Yinwan leaned down and patted her face, which was filled with terror.

"I know far more than you think. Don't play any tricks, or I'll have you thrown into prison immediately."

"Yes, yes, yes."

"What is that carriage driver's name, and where is he now?"

Granny Sun's eyes rolled covertly. "His name is Pang Liu. Miss Qin's maid said he went into hiding after returning from the palace. This old servant doesn't know where he is."

Fearing Feng Yinwan's suspicion, she quickly added, "Miss Qin only told this old servant to deliver the message to Wang Ji Scissors Shop, saying someone would come to find him."

Thinking she would not honestly reveal the carriage driver's hiding place, Feng Yinwan pretended to believe her and continued to question her.

"Besides Pang Liu, does Zhao Si have any other accomplices?"

"No, no, it was just the two of them!"

"Hm?"

Granny Sun broke out in a cold sweat at this sound. "My lord, this old servant dares not deceive you, there... there really is no one else!"

"If you must say there was someone else involved, it would be the maid beside Miss Qin. That girl, Feise, is very wicked. She's definitely the one who did most of these wicked deeds!"

She looked expectantly at Feng Yinwan, appearing eager for a reward.

Seeing this, Feng Yinwan knew she wouldn't get any more information. She nodded. "I will believe you for now. If I discover you have lied, I will not spare you lightly!"

Granny Sun was overjoyed. "Yes, yes, my lord, your foresight is divine. How could this old servant dare to deceive you!"

Seeing that the guard still hadn't let go of her after she had flattered him, she urged, "My lord, I've said everything I needed to say. Could you..."

She smiled sheepishly and wriggled her arms, signaling the guard to release her.

Feng Yinwan's lips curved, and she immediately reverted to her original voice. "Granny Sun, where are you trying to go?"

Hearing the sudden shift to a woman's voice, Granny Sun was startled, yet the voice sounded somewhat familiar.

Before she could react, Feng Yinwan waved her hand. "Take her away!"

"Hey... wait, where are you taking me!"

"Of course, to where you belong."

With that, the guard struck her down. Granny Sun's vision went black, and she collapsed unconscious.

As they exited the alley, they encountered Yuping and the others. Pang Liu's head was covered with a sack, and he was also unconscious.

Feng Yinwan glanced at him, then turned to the guards and instructed, "Take them back first, through the back door. Don't make a fuss, and remember to keep them in separate custody."

"Yes!"

The guards answered and lifted Granny Sun and Pang Liu into the carriage, then left quickly.

Although she knew the scissors shop Granny Sun mentioned was a lie, Feng Yinwan decided to check it out just in case.

She and Yuping searched Changxing Street for half a day but couldn't find Wang Ji Scissors Shop. Feng Yinwan then realized she had been thoroughly deceived and reluctantly gave up.

The woman's ability to spout nonsense was almost catching up to hers!

Pursing her lips, Feng Yinwan changed back into her women's clothes at a nearby silk shop. As she stepped out of the shop, a dazzling golden light flashed, almost blinding her.

Feng Yinwan narrowed her eyes and looked up to see the large, gilded characters "Sihai Yunyan" on the opposite restaurant.

Her eyes lit up, and before she could express her surprise, a carriage came speeding towards her.

"Miss!"

Feng Yinwan was pulled by Yuping and narrowly dodged the carriage. As soon as she steadied herself, the carriage stopped, and a woman in pink gracefully stepped down. Their eyes met, and both were stunned.

Little White Lotus?

It was truly a narrow path for enemies.

Qin Rulian had rarely appeared in public since her scandal broke out. Now that she had finally ventured out, she unexpectedly ran into Feng Yinwan, which made her feel incredibly uncomfortable.

Her eyes flickered, and she feigned vulnerability, bowing slightly. "What a coincidence, to meet you here, Sister Princess."

Feng Yinwan pouted. "Not a coincidence. I find you unlucky, and I don't want to see you at all."

To her surprise, Feng Yinwan spoke so directly, and Qin Rulian's face turned red with embarrassment.

"Didn't Sister say you had found a lead? Why aren't you investigating further, and instead came to Sihai Yunyan?"

Feng Yinwan curved her lips and retorted, "Didn't Miss Qin say the imperial physician had advised against unnecessary movement recently? Why aren't you staying well in your manor and instead came to the street?"

"I saw you get off the carriage quite smoothly just now. What, has the imperial physician's miraculous healing cured your leg in just two days?"

"I..."

Qin Rulian was so choked that she couldn't retort. As she bit her lip, the carriage curtain was lifted.

Ye Tinglan strode out, his brows knitting upon seeing Feng Yinwan. "What are you doing here."

Feng Yinwan raised an eyebrow. "Aren't you here as well, Prince?"

Hearing this, Ye Tinglan's brows furrowed even more. Before he could speak, Qin Rulian stepped forward.

"Brother Tinglan, the Princess may not wish to see me. Perhaps we should go back..."

She lowered her eyes, her demeanor submissive, putting on a show of being fragile and wronged.

Seeing this, Ye Tinglan's face darkened, and he sternly questioned Feng Yinwan. "I'm asking you a question!"

This woman, more than half of the three days had passed, and instead of investigating important matters, she had the leisure to come to Sihai Yunyan for enjoyment!

He stared coldly at Feng Yinwan with growing anger. To his surprise, Feng Yinwan seemed uninterested in him, lazily raising her eyes.

"What would Your Highness like me to say?"

What words?

"Naturally, the truth!"

As he finished speaking, he saw a smirk flash across Feng Yinwan's lips, a hint of cunning in her beautiful eyes. Ye Tinglan's brow twitched, and a bad premonition suddenly washed over him.
