Yu Jingchen watched Nan Zhiyun with her eyes closed, a slight smile on his lips. She was just a young girl, yet even with her eyes shut, her eyelashes trembled.
"Sleep quickly, don't you dare open your eyes, or you'll be in trouble," Yu Jingchen warned her. Startled, Nan Zhiyun promptly closed her eyes tighter, not daring to open them.
Observing Nan Zhiyun feigning sleep, Yu Jingchen pulled the blanket up for her. Then... the mess all over the floor gave Yu Jingchen a headache. What was going on? Why was it different from the last time he got drunk? He had found her cuter then. This current state of Nan Zhiyun was simply too much for him to handle. If he had returned any later, this girl might have torn the place apart.
Yu Jingchen propped his head up with one hand, looking at Nan Zhiyun beside him with a softening heart. He gently patted her, coaxing her to sleep. Why was she so restless? Especially the latter part... whenever Yu Jingchen thought of it, his face would darken. kuAiδugg
The young girl usually seemed so shy, but he never expected her true nature to be revealed when she got drunk. She dared to say anything, do anything. He still felt a lingering heat within him.
Perhaps overcome by intoxication and lulled by Yu Jingchen's gentle coaxing, Nan Zhiyun soon genuinely fell asleep. Listening to her soft, even breaths, Yu Jingchen knew she was truly asleep.
"Let's see what you do when you wake up tomorrow morning. If you dare to forget, I'll take your head off!" Yu Jingchen said fiercely. However, Nan Zhiyun was now sleeping soundly, even turning slightly, deep in slumber.
Yu Jingchen slowly got up. He couldn't sleep anyway. If he could sleep, it would mean something was seriously wrong. Needless to say, Yu Jingchen spent most of that night taking cold baths.
When he emerged, Nan Zhiyun had already curled up in a corner, asleep. She had no regard for her image when she slept, shifting from one spot to another. She was only better when held in Yu Jingchen's arms; otherwise, who knew where this child would roll off to.
After his cold bath, Yu Jingchen didn't immediately get into bed to hold her. His body was too cold. If Nan Zhiyun were to fall ill, it would be more trouble than it was worth.
He waited until his body temperature had almost returned to normal before slowly approaching her. Nan Zhiyun had been lying down earlier, but now she was sleeping on her stomach.
Yu Jingchen reached out, scooped her up, and then tucked her into his embrace. Nan Zhiyun, seeking warmth, instinctively snuggled closer, holding onto him for comfort. She seemed to have grown accustomed to hugging Yu Jingchen.
A good night's sleep.
As for the mess on the floor, Yu Jingchen had specifically given orders for it not to be cleaned up. The intention behind this was, of course, self-evident.
The next morning, Yu Jingchen did not have to continue with the spring hunt, so he did not leave. Nan Zhiyun woke up to find herself still in Yu Jingchen's arms. She rubbed her eyes, her gaze drowsy.
She felt groggy, as if she hadn't fully woken up. Of course, it was possible she truly hadn't. Her head ached slightly, likely from drinking too much yesterday. She felt muddled, unsure of what to do.
"Awake?" Yu Jingchen suddenly spoke. Nan Zhiyun jumped, completely caught off guard. She hadn't expected him to be awake.
