"No, thank you, President Gu. I'll take a taxi myself." Ye Wan took two steps back, looking behind her for oncoming traffic. But it was as if fate had played a trick on her today, not a single car was in sight.
"Miss Ling seems to dislike me. Have we had any past grievances?" Gu Yunting asked.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Gu, I don't know you. How could we have any grievances?" Ye Wan said, her face cold.
"Since that's the case, we are business partners. If I see you needing a taxi and I can give you a ride, isn't that normal? Why do you seem so resistant?" Gu Yunting stared at her, as if trying to see through her.
"You're overthinking it. I don't know you," Ye Wan replied indifferently.
"If that's the case, get in the car, and I'll give you a ride. It will prove that we don't know each other." Gu Yunting fixed his gaze on her, unwilling to move.
Ye Wan hesitated for a moment, then walked around to the other side of the car, opened the door, and got in. If she insisted further, it would only make her seem guilty. Since they had forgotten each other, she didn't want to provoke him into remembering anything. This was fine.
Gu Yunting instructed the driver, and the car moved forward. However, Ye Wan soon realized the route was incorrect. "President Gu, the place I'm going is not in this direction."
"Miss Ling, you are merely accepting a ride. Must I follow your route just because you are getting a ride? I have urgent matters to attend to, so we'll take my route first," Gu Yunting said calmly.

"Then alright, stop the car ahead and let me out." Ye Wan truly felt like she had lost her mind for getting into his car.
"It will be even harder for you to get a taxi here," Gu Yunting replied indifferently.
"I'll call a friend to pick me up. I won't take a taxi anymore." Ye Wan glared angrily at the man beside her. This man always had a way of making her unable to remain calm.
"No, you are my business partner. No one passes through here, and you might encounter danger. I must be responsible for your personal safety." Gu Yunting simply refused to let her out.
Ye Wan was almost driven mad by him. Her chest heaved, and she glared at him with her beautiful eyes. Suddenly, she realized that this man was not being genuinely kind. The former him would never have cared so much about a woman he didn't know at all!
