Chapter 888 I Don't Owe Him Anything

"..."

Yun Bu Ji resigned himself to fetching the medicine. While sending messages, Mian Mian watched him and asked, "Is this your house?"

"No." Even as he said no, he found a small first-aid kit in the house.

"You, you, you... if it's not your house, you're rummaging through things. If you're caught, it's considered theft!" Mian Mian was terribly nervous, growing anxious. She wanted to leave immediately.

"This is an old man's house. I know him, so it's not stealing." Yun Bu Ji saw how scared she was and explained.

"Oh, that's good then." Jiang Mian Mian patted her chest, relieved.

"But that old man is dead. He often lay in this chair, basking in the sun," Yun Bu Ji said.

Jiang Mian Mian, "..."

She was so scared that she quickly stood up, hugged her schoolbag, and only stopped when she reached the wall. Yun Bu Ji laughed heartily at her reaction.

"Are you sick? You're talking nonsense!" Jiang Mian Mian angrily ran over to hit him, intending to leave with her schoolbag.

Yun Bu Ji quickly stopped her and said, "I'm not talking nonsense, but the old man often sat in my chair. He passed away before the New Year. I handled his funeral. He only had one daughter who had long emigrated abroad and hadn't returned for over fifty years. The old man lived alone. After he died, his daughter still didn't come back. The old man entrusted me to handle everything, and he gave me this house as payment."

Yun Bu Ji explained.

Mian Mian didn't expect things to be like this. She looked at the rocking chair, seeming to imagine the old man sitting there, gazing at the distant sky, his heart filled with longing for his daughter in a faraway land, until he left this world.

Jiang Mian Mian suddenly felt that this old man was so pitiful. She felt like crying.

"Miss, could you do me a favor? I can't apply the medicine myself. These bastards, they actually ambushed me. How shameful. I'll definitely kill them someday." Yun Bu Ji took off his outer garment, revealing his arm smashed to a bloody pulp.

Jiang Mian Mian's face turned pale with fright. She had never seen such an injury and said nervously, "We should go to the hospital quickly. This kind of injury can't be treated by yourself."

"Hurry up, Miss. If we delay any longer, I'll bleed to death." Yun Bu Ji realized this young girl was exceptionally naive; she believed whatever he said.

He frowned. How could this be? Wouldn't anyone be able to deceive her?

How could she be so easily fooled?

"Ah, then what should I do?" Mian Mian was truly nervous, afraid he would bleed to death.

"Just help me stop the bleeding. Pour on the hemostatic powder." Yun Bu Ji tossed a small bottle to her.

Mian Mian took the bottle, quickly opened it, and then poured the entire bottle of powder onto his injured arm.

Yun Bu Ji helplessly touched his forehead. "That's all the medicine I have."

"I'll blow it away for you!" Mian Mian said. Before Yun Bu Ji could stop her, she blew a breath.

Then, the powder flew everywhere, making them both cough.

Mian Mian quickly retreated, and Yun Bu Ji looked at his wound. Fortunately, it had stopped bleeding.

"You're truly a talent." Yun Bu Ji gave her a thumbs-up.

Mian Mian felt a bit embarrassed, but she still stuck out her neck and said, "At least it's not bleeding anymore."

"Bandage it with gauze," Yun Bu Ji instructed her.

Mian Mian glared at him, thinking she didn't owe him anything, but seeing his injured state, she came over and took the gauze to wrap his wound.
