Chapter 884 I Dreamed Dad Bled a Lot

"This is a dream. Dreams are the opposite of reality. Your father is sleeping soundly right now. You should sleep obediently and let your father rest well," Jiang Mi said with a hint of guilt as she hugged her daughter tightly, not wanting her to discover the truth.

Jiang Mi was now grateful for her own calmness. She hadn't actually killed the man, leaving him alive. Father-daughter affection was unbreakable. Jiang Jingxiu had just had an accident, and her daughter had the same nightmare, which showed how much she loved her father, even to the point of being telepathically connected.

After Jiang Mi coaxed her for more than ten minutes, Mian Mian fell asleep again.

In the hospital.

Jin Lan looked at the two stab wounds on Jiang Jingxiu and quickly arranged for the medical team to stitch him up, transfuse blood, and perform various resuscitation procedures. It took more than an hour before he was sent to the ward.

Fortunately, he was brought in and treated in time. Jiang Jingxiu was out of danger and conscious.

"You can still laugh?" Jin Lan sat by the bed speechlessly and reached out to poke his wound.

Jiang Jingxiu quickly grabbed his hand. "Brother, spare me. I'm in so much pain."

"You don't look like you're in much pain," Jin Lan couldn't help but retort.

"Try being stabbed twice," Jiang Jingxiu said, lying there with a pale face but a smile on his lips.

"I see you're happy to be stabbed. Tell me, are you just going to let this matter go?" Jin Lan truly felt Jiang Mi had gone too far, but she hadn't intended to kill him. If she had, she would have aimed for the heart, and he wouldn't have been saved.

"She didn't intend to kill me. Do you think she can't bear to see me die?" Jiang Jingxiu looked at his friend expectantly.

"It's possible she just doesn't want Mian Mian to be fatherless," Jin Lan cruelly shattered his fantasy.

Jiang Jingxiu's expression fell. "Actually, I know that too. I was just fantasizing, wondering if she has even a shred of unwillingness to let me die."

He knew all too well that his survival was entirely due to his daughter. Jiang Mi loved her daughter too much to let her suffer even the slightest pain, the pain of losing a father. How could she possibly let her daughter endure that?

"Stop fantasizing and focus on recovering. But why does Jiang Mi hate you so much? Is there some misunderstanding between you two?" Jin Lan felt that no matter what Jiang Jingxiu had done, she didn't need to stab him twice. It was a bit abnormal.

Jiang Jingxiu also frowned and said, "I find it strange too. It seems she's particularly hateful towards me since she returned. If it weren't for Mian Mian, she might have actually killed me."

"You didn't really do anything to betray her, did you? There's no hatred in this world without reason," Jin Lan frowned, looking at him.

"Am I that kind of person? Brother, I could forgive others for asking such a question, but when you ask me this, I truly feel hurt," Jiang Jingxiu put on a wronged expression.

"Then you'd better ask Jiang Mi and clear things up. What kind of mortal enmity do you two have that necessitates such a life-or-death situation?" Jin Lan reminded him.

"I want to, but she gets annoyed just seeing me now. I don't know how to communicate with her. Judging by her demeanor, she refuses to communicate with me," Jiang Jingxiu was quite self-aware, knowing that Jiang Mi didn't want to talk to him.

If he hadn't been drunk yesterday, he wouldn't have forced himself on her. He really couldn't do such a thing.

"You have to communicate even if it's difficult. Figure it out yourself. I have other patients, so I'm leaving." Jin Lan got up, greeted a nurse, and left.

He was already overwhelmed with his own problems. Jiang Yan insisted on divorcing him, and his sister brought back a child for him to raise. He had hired a nanny to take care of Tao Tao at home, and he didn't know how she was doing. He still had many patients waiting for him.
