"Grandpa, you have to hold on! You haven't seen your great-grandchild born yet. You must hold on, Grandpa, you can't be gone."
Fangfang's outburst silenced the old man. His eyes widened further, and he finally took his last breath in Zhou Hao's arms, his eyes unable to close.
He likely died with regrets.
Seeing that the old man was truly dead, Fangfang was relieved. Her cries grew louder. The ambulance arrived and took the body away. Yun Buji wanted to follow them to the hospital but was pushed out of the car by Zhou Hao.
Fangfang provocatively glanced at Yun Buji, who had been kicked out of the car. She got into the ambulance.
Yun Buji watched the departing vehicle with a blank expression, a complex mix of emotions swirling within him. He couldn't believe Grandpa Zhou was gone so suddenly, nor could he fathom that his childhood friend, with whom he'd grown up, completely disbelieved him.
Even though Grandpa Zhou was pronounced dead at the hospital, Yun Buji still came. At this moment, he felt he couldn't *not* come. Regardless of how foolish Zhou Hao was acting, Grandpa Zhou had always treated him well. He had to see him off.
But Zhou Hao had already been completely brainwashed by Fangfang. He believed Yun Buji had killed his grandfather. Now, seeing Yun Buji, he wanted nothing more than to rush forward and fight.
Zhou Hao lunged forward, fiercely grabbing Yun Buji's collar and demanding, "You dare to show up? You killed my grandfather! If it weren't for you, my grandfather wouldn't be dead! You murderer!"
Yun Buji found it absurd, but he didn't laugh. He let Zhou Hao choke him, his grip tightening on his collar until he could barely breathe. Yun Buji genuinely couldn't believe how much love could reduce a man's intellect. He believed everything that woman said? Didn't he know him at all?
"Zhou Hao, I ask you, what exactly are you accusing me of? That I wanted your pregnant wife, or that I deliberately killed Grandpa Zhou!" Yun Buji could no longer contain himself and questioned him, his eyes also red.
Zhou Hao's mind was a complete mess. He couldn't think straight. All he knew was that his closest relative was gone, his brother had betrayed him, and now he only had Fangfang and their child.
"Snap out of it, you idiot!"
"You're the idiot! I'm perfectly clear-headed right now!" Zhou Hao's fist swung towards Yun Buji.
Yun Buji didn't hold back either. He caught Zhou Hao's fist and punched him in the face. If it could knock some sense into him, it would be a good thing.
They began to brawl outside. Fangfang tried to intervene, but neither of them listened. It wasn't until Li Xiang arrived that they were reluctantly separated.
Zhou Hao was no match for Yun Buji, left with a bruised and swollen face and bleeding from his mouth.
Yun Buji sneered, pointing at Zhou Hao. "You're being played like a fool by that bitch! Grandpa Zhou wasn't killed by me; I have a clear conscience. You killed him! You invited the wolf into your own house! You're a terrible judge of character! Li Xiang, let's go."
After speaking, Yun Buji had no desire to waste more words on Zhou Hao and turned to leave. Li Xiang, unsure of what had happened and finding it difficult to mediate between them, saw that Zhou Hao had people around him and decided to follow Yun Buji instead.
Outside, Yun Buji seemed to go mad, punching a tree with his fists. The thick trunk shook, causing leaves to fall. Li Xiang was terrified, fearing Yun Buji would break his hand if he continued.
He quickly rushed over, grabbed Yun Buji's waist, and pulled him back, trying to reason with him...
