"Right, right, Jian Yi, I want to apologize to her. Can you help me tell her? Do you think I asked you to come here to let me out? No, I don't mean that. Actually, I don't even know how I did such crazy and absurd things before. It's all my fault." Jin Qing apologized to her younger brother incessantly with a look of pain.
Jin Lan frowned, looking at his sister. Her appearance didn't seem fake, but considering her past absurd actions, he dared not trust her easily.
"Don't you believe I'm truly apologizing to them? Jin Lan, I'm serious. I don't know what's wrong with me. I feel like I've gone mad. I don't even recognize my former self. I truly know I was wrong." Jin Qing covered her face and started crying.
Jin Lan looked at his sister with a frown. After all, she was the only family he had in this world. He didn't want to see her cry, and he felt a pang of sadness.
"If you truly feel you were wrong, then stay here for a while longer to reflect. Don't think about asking me to let you out," Jin Lan said coldly.
"I didn't think about you letting me out. If possible, please sue me. I broke the law. Although I didn't profit, Jian Yi was sent away by me, and I almost harmed her. Sentence me however you see fit. I won't complain," Jin Qing said.
"Are you serious? Do you really think that?" Jin Lan couldn't quite believe it.
"Why would I lie to you? It's normal if you don't believe me, but if you do as I say, you'll know the truth. Go back. I've said what I needed to say. Don't come again in the future." Jin Qing smiled bitterly. Her bitterness wasn't because she was locked up and couldn't get out, but because her own brother didn't trust her. This was her failure.
Jin Qing sat on the bed, hugged her legs, and buried her face in her knees. As Jin Lan got up to leave, he glanced back at his sister and suddenly realized she had become much thinner.
He truly didn't dare to trust her easily again. If he were to be deceived by her again, it would be the people he loved most who would get hurt.
He couldn't afford to gamble.
As Jin Lan left, he saw his brother-in-law, Chu Wei Xian. He was carrying a bag of food containers. After putting the containers down, he left.
When Jin Lan came out, he drove away. Jin Lan asked, "What is this?"
"Food. Mr. Chu brings it every day. But I didn't give it to Mrs. Jin. I put it all aside," the person in charge quickly explained.
"You said he comes every day, without fail?" Jin Lan asked.
"Yes, rain or shine, he never misses a day. And he specifically instructed me to give it to Mrs. Jin. I was afraid he would pester me, so I just said I gave it to her, but I actually threw it all away."
"Give this to me." Jin Lan took the bag. He felt something was off, but he couldn't quite pinpoint what it was.
Chu Wei Xian didn't love his sister, that was a fact. He also knew that if it weren't for his sister's health, he would never have tolerated this scoundrel.
The person in charge immediately handed over the food delivered by Chu Wei Xian to Jin Lan. When Jin Lan returned to the hospital, he gave it to a nurse to send to the laboratory for testing.
A flicker of something flashed through his mind. He tried to grasp it but couldn't. However, a voice in his heart told him to do this.
After sending the food for testing, he got busy with his own work and completely forgot about the laboratory matter due to being too busy.
