Gu Yunting instructed Zhou Muchu, "Drive the yacht over!"
Ye Wan could no longer hold on. She was exhausted, and her injured arm was bleeding profusely. She felt dizzy from blood loss.
The sharks were indeed intelligent. They knew their desired prey was on this metal contraption and that they could feast if they flipped it. They began to ram it with all their might, each impact fiercer than the last.
Ye Wan didn't want to become shark food, but she felt she couldn't hold on any longer, and another impact would capsize the yacht.
Just as the sharks were preparing for one final, forceful ram, Zhou Muchu's yacht surged forward and intercepted the blow meant for Ye Wan's vessel. Gu Yunting seized the moment and leaped onto Ye Wan's yacht.
By then, Ye Wan had let go of the railing and lay in the center of the yacht. Gu Yunting's eyes turned red as he looked at her bloody arms. Without delay, he quickly took control of the yacht and sped away.
Zhou Muchu also steered his yacht away, returning to the cruise ship.
On the way back, Ye Wan had completely fainted from severe blood loss. Gu Yunting stopped the cruise ship, turned, and was profoundly shocked by the sight of the girl, Ye, lying in the cabin.
Ye Wan's face was pale, her eyes tightly shut. Her long, dark hair was spread out, and her pale green dress reached her ankles. Blood continued to seep from the wounds on her arms, staining the cabin red.
Gu Yunting rushed over and scooped her up. Under the gaze of onlookers, he carried her to the nearest cabin.
Jin Lan had already ordered someone to fetch a medical kit. Once it was retrieved, he began to staunch Ye Wan's bleeding and stitch her wounds.
"This child is always so hard on herself! These wounds are so deep they've reached the bone," Jin Lan said, his voice filled with distress as he stitched.
Gu Yunting stood there with a dark expression, staring at the pale girl. Though unconscious, her eyelashes trembled, and her brows were tightly furrowed, indicating she was in great pain.
"Can you stop talking so much? Her wounds are deep because she's too thin. Just stitch them up quickly," Jiang Jingxiu said to Jin Lan, exasperated.
Jiang Mi was very worried about Ye Wan's condition. However, she didn't want to appear before Jiang Jingxiu again, so she waited anxiously outside the room, questioning anyone who emerged.
"A'ting, Ye Wan saved you this time, didn't she? Can you let her go?" Zhou Muchu finally couldn't help but plead for Ye Wan.
Hearing this, Gu Yunting's expression instantly turned cold. He closed his eyes, and the image of his mother holding his sister as they jumped to their deaths ten years ago flashed before him, a tragedy caused by Ye Wan's birth mother!
"If she can bring my sister back to life, I'll let her go!" Gu Yunting declared, then turned and left the room without another glance at Ye Wan.
Zhou Muchu wanted to say something, but Jiang Jingxiu stopped him. "You know you can't mention that in front of him. Don't be foolish!"
Jiang Jingxiu clapped him on the shoulder and went to check on Gu Yunting.
Jiang Mi heard footsteps and quickly turned to face the wall. Jiang Jingxiu glanced at her indifferently before leaving.
Seeing this, Jiang Mi swiftly slipped into the room to check on Ye Wan. Her heart ached when she saw Ye Wan's wretched state.
Jin Lan finished stitching the wounds on both of Ye Wan's arms, applied medication, and bandaged them. He straightened up, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and hung an IV drip. Such severe wounds would likely become inflamed.
After he finished, he saw Jiang Mi. Knowing she was Ye Wan's friend, he said, "I'll have to trouble you to change her clothes and look after her."
