Chapter 515 Don't Be Angry

Just as he felt he was about to explode, Ye Wan walked in. She was wearing a pink and white loungewear set, her silky hair tied into a cute bun. Her clear dark eyes held a deep concern for him.

The girl walked to his side, sat down, and took his hand. With her other hand, she gently stroked his furrowed brow, as if to smooth out the creases.

"Don't be angry. It's not worth it to upset your body over such a bad person," Ye Wan comforted him softly. Her voice was as gentle as the March breeze, and it instantly made the strong anger in his heart disappear.

His brow unfurrowed.

Gu Yunting held her and sat her on his lap. He kissed her moist, tender lips and said, "Mm."

Ye Wan looked into his deep dark eyes and suddenly felt a pang in her heart. He must have suffered a lot these past ten years. She remembered that Madam Gu was not good to him, her son, treating him with the coldness of a stranger.

Perhaps it was due to their shared misfortunes that Ye Wan always wanted to comfort the boy and give him some warmth. The boy then held her and murmured, "She's just sick."

She didn't understand at the time and asked him who was sick. He just smiled without answering, reaching out to ruffle her hair.

In her memory, Mr. Gu, who was plotting to drive his wife to her death, was actually kinder to Gu Yunting. Although that man seemed cold, children were often sensitive. Because of his own experiences, she could feel at the time that compared to the indifferent Madam Gu, Mr. Gu's gaze towards his son was warm.

Later, the father and son completely fell out after Madam Gu took her daughter and jumped to their deaths. Gu Yunting had confronted his father with a knife, and no one knew what was said. Later, Mr. Gu was injured and was escorted away from the Gu residence by his bodyguards, never to return.

From then on, Gu Yunting seemed to change completely.

Thinking of these things, Ye Wan felt heartbroken. What had he done wrong from beginning to end?

She thought that even if Mr. Gu wanted to drive his wife to death, he wouldn't have intended to kill his own daughter. His mistake was that when he set up that wicked murder plot, he should have realized that once some things started, they wouldn't be controllable by anyone.

Madam Gu might have truly wanted to die at the time, but she couldn't bear to leave her daughter to suffer in the world, so she took her daughter with her when she jumped. Who would have thought that fate was cruel? Their daughter died, but she lived.

So she decided to cling to the position of Madam Gu until her death, never giving it up!

Ye Wan felt that Madam Gu must have known Mr. Gu's scheme all along, which was why she was so resolute. But she dared not ask, as in this seemingly cruel family conspiracy, she was just a small cannon fodder.

...

Gu Yunting didn't go out all day. The two of them stayed in the room. Gu Yunting worked on his laptop, while Ye Wan curled up on the sofa, occasionally reading, doing some handicrafts, or playing with Xiao Ju Zi.

From time to time, Gu Yunting would look up at the sofa, as if he could only continue working after glancing at her.

During meals, Ye Wan would urge Gu Yunting to eat more. She didn't know how to comfort him about his parents' affairs; all she could do was to be there for him.

In the evening, Gu Yunting invited Ye Wan to attend the Gu Group's year-end party tomorrow, suggesting she go with Jin Lan.
