"Ye Cheng, am I dreaming?" Ye Wan looked at the man holding her with disbelief, feeling like she might be hallucinating.
"Sister, this little kitty is so fun! It's so cute." Ye Cheng had been here for over an hour and was completely charmed by Little Orange, his beautiful dark eyes sparkling.
"You're really my brother, you sent someone to pick him up?" Ye Wan asked the man standing close by.
"It's Lunar New Year today. Do you want to abandon me and spend it with your brother? I might as well bring him over to celebrate together." Gu Yunting carried her downstairs and reluctantly set her down.
"Thank you." Ye Wan was overjoyed. She hugged Gu Yunting and kissed his cheek.
Gu Yunting was momentarily stunned, then Ye Wan turned and ran to find her brother. She looked at the new clothes her brother was wearing and nodded in satisfaction, "You look so good in this."
"Sister, how do you have such a cute little cat like Little Orange?" Ye Cheng was truly amazed. He wanted one too.
"Uh, Little Orange? That name suits it well. Little Orange isn't a cat, it's a tiger." Ye Wan explained.
Ye Cheng was even more astonished after hearing this, his mouth forming a large 'O'. He turned and picked up Little Orange, staring at its adorably dumb appearance with utter disbelief.
From then on, Ye Wan felt like she was losing favor. Her brother used to only pay attention to her, but now his eyes were solely on Little Orange, only glancing at her occasionally.
Especially after learning that Little Orange was a new breed Gu Yunting had found for his sister, his hostility towards Gu Yunting lessened considerably.
Ye Wan looked up at the sky, speechless. Children were indeed simply adorable and so easily swayed.
After having breakfast with Ye Wan, Gu Yunting left first. Ye Wan knew he had things to do, at the very least, he had to rescue Yan Jiayi.
Ye Cheng stayed to keep Ye Wan company. The siblings ate, petted the little tiger, and watched the day's television programs.
"Sister, is that person my brother-in-law?" Ye Cheng hesitated for a moment before asking the question in his heart.
Ye Wan had thought about explaining her relationship with Gu Yunting to her brother, but it seemed too complicated and difficult to explain. However, she later felt she owed her brother an explanation. "Xiao Cheng, he is your brother-in-law, but you must keep this a secret and tell no one. There's something else you need to know: he saved your life. He is your life-saving benefactor."
"Is it because he could save me that Sister married him?" Ye Cheng countered.
Ye Wan hadn't expected her brother's little head to be so smart. He had managed to deduce such a connection. While it seemed to be the case, she couldn't admit it. Doing so would only make Ye Cheng dislike Gu Yunting, which she didn't want.
Ye Cheng was the most important person to her, and Gu Yunting was also important to her now.
"Of course not. Sister married him much earlier, and then you had your surgery. There's no cause and effect between these two, don't overthink it." Ye Wan ruffled her brother's soft short hair.
"Oh." Ye Cheng nodded earnestly.
"If you like pets, I'll take you to buy one another day." Ye Wan couldn't possibly give Little Orange to her brother. Although the little creature was small now, it would be quite enormous when it grew up. It could only be kept in a large estate like the Gu residence.
"Can I have a kitten?" Ye Cheng thought cats were more like Little Orange. He would buy a kitten of the same color as Little Orange then.
