After school, Ye Wan asked Jiang Yan to deliver the shirt she bought for Jun Lichen to him, wishing him a happy birthday. She herself rushed to Gu Yunting's birthday party at the hotel.
This was Gu Yunting's first birthday party since coming of age. Jin Lan had also put in a lot of effort to decorate the venue, with a ten-tiered cake and a beautiful champagne tower. The scene was comparable to a wedding reception.
Jin Lan and Jiang Jingxiu were very curious about what gift Ye Wan had given Gu Yunting, so they waited at the entrance early. Gu Yunting was seated inside, but his attention was constantly on the entrance.

"Am I crazy to invite her?" Jin Lan replied in a low voice. "This woman must have been aware of Gu Yunting's birthday for a long time. Even though no one invited her, with her status, no one would dare to turn her away."
After entering, Lin Feiwei walked directly to Gu Yunting and said with a smile, "Ating, happy birthday."
Gu Yunting responded faintly. Lin Feiwei placed her gift in front of him, stating it was custom-made for him. The people around them egged him on, asking what it was.
Lin Feiwei generously announced, "It's a tie clip, custom-ordered from France and air-freighted over."
Everyone praised Lin Feiwei for her thoughtfulness.
Gu Yunting, however, seemed somewhat distracted, his gaze occasionally scanning the entrance.
When Ye Wan arrived at the hotel, she bumped into Jiang Yan, who was holding two gift boxes. Jiang Yan asked, "Weren't you not coming to Senior Jun's birthday?"
"I'm here for someone else's birthday party. I might be needed for something," Ye Wan replied. She hadn't expected that Senior Jun's birthday party would also be at this hotel.
"Since you're here, you should deliver it personally. It's all in the same hotel. It wouldn't seem right if you didn't go, considering Senior Jun saved both of us," Jiang Yan said.
Ye Wan thought it made sense. Delivering a gift wouldn't take more than a few minutes. She took her gift and went with Jiang Yan to the private room Jun Lichen had booked.
Jun Lichen had only booked a small private room and invited just one table of people, a far cry from Gu Yunting's birthday party.
As Ye Wan and Jiang Yan arrived, Jun Lichen immediately walked over with a bright smile. Ye Wan handed him the gift she had prepared, saying, "When you saved me before, my clothes were torn. This is a gift as compensation."
Jun Lichen looked at the shirt and his smile grew even brighter. "Thank you for the gift," he said.
Ye Wan mentioned she had to go to a friend's birthday party nearby, and Jun Lichen walked her to the door. Watching Ye Wan's receding figure, a cold smile flickered across his lips.
When Ye Wan arrived at Gu Yunting's birthday party, Jin Lan and Jiang Jingxiu quickly met her. Seeing her empty hands, they were both bewildered. Gu Yunting had previously 'bragged' to them that Ye Wan had prepared two gifts for him!
Where were the gifts?
Did she forget to bring them?
Jin Lan was quick to react and leaned in, saying, "Ye Wan, did you forget to bring the gift for Brother Ting? It's okay, I'll have the driver go back and get it."
Ye Wan looked at him blankly and explained honestly, "I didn't prepare a gift for him. I thought you asked me to come to help with something."
Even the usually steady Jiang Jingxiu was anxious. "Ye Wan, don't joke around. This isn't a funny joke at all!"
