Gu Yunting glanced indifferently at the man and woman beside him, waving his hand dismissively, "If you like her, take her."
Ye Wan couldn't believe Gu Yunting would actually let a scumbag like Su Shijie take her away. She stood there stunned, even forgetting to resist, and was pulled into Su Shijie's embrace.
He knew perfectly well what would happen to her if she was taken away by such a man, yet he didn't care. Ye Wan felt a breaking sound from the depths of her heart. He was no longer the boy who would fight desperately to save her from being bullied.
As Su Shijie dragged her a few steps away, Ye Wan suddenly stopped him and turned to look at Gu Yunting, "Are you really going to let him take me?"
She didn't know why she asked, nor what she was expecting, but she was truly heartbroken.
Gu Yunting simply looked at her without speaking.
Su Shijie pulled her hard and said with a laugh, "Didn't my cousin make himself clear enough? You're just a plaything to my cousin, you actually think you're a person? If you behave yourself later, I might make you suffer a little less!"
As he spoke, he roughly dragged her outside. Ye Wan's gaze remained fixed on Gu Yunting. She didn't understand why she felt so heartbroken, as if she were dying. Tears welled up in her eyes. She was dragged all the way to the door by Su Shijie, when she suddenly shook him off.
Su Shijie's grip was strong, but she managed to break free. Ye Wan suddenly shouted at Gu Yunting, "Are you really going to let me go with him?!"
Gu Yunting looked at the girl's flushed eyes, his expression still cold. Everyone was watching him. Ye Wan suddenly felt like a fool!
She raised her hand, wiped away the tears falling down her face, and nodded, "I understand."
She was too foolish to think he would still save her from dire straits without hesitation, as he had that year. Ye Wan turned to Su Shijie, "Let's go."
Upon hearing these words, Gu Yunting clenched his fists on his leg so tightly that his knuckles cracked. With almost all his self-control, he managed not to rush forward and beat that scumbag Su Shijie to death.
Jin Lan moved to intervene but was stopped by Jiang Jingxiu, who gestured for him to remain calm.
Ye Wan left with Su Shijie. The atmosphere in the private room seemed to freeze. Gu Yunting's chest heaved violently, indicating the intensity of his emotions. He felt his chest burning, a metallic taste rising in his throat.
