Knowing that his sister had not only been worried sick about his illness but had also missed a lot of classes, Ye Cheng insisted she return to school and not stay any longer.
Upon returning to school, Ye Wan saw Ning Xin about to leave the campus.
"Ye Wan, perfect timing! I want to check out a job, and I'm a bit nervous going alone. Will you come with me?" Ning Xin smiled and took Ye Wan's hand.
"Is it a translation job?" Ye Wan asked.
"Yes, a company is doing a project that needs an English translator. You have experience, so just accompany me. I'll treat you to a meal," Ning Xin said, putting an arm around her.
"Alright, I'll go with you." Ye Wan had worked on projects before and had some experience in translation, so she agreed.
The two took a taxi to a hotel. As they approached the entrance, they saw Jiang Yan. Ning Xin smiled when she saw them approaching, "I also invited Jiang Yan. We can go together if there's an opportunity. This company has more than one project."
Thus, the three entered the hotel together. Ning Xin knocked on a hotel room door. A woman inside was waiting. Seeing the three, she smiled and invited them in.
"Please have a seat. I'll check if the boss has arrived," the woman said before leaving, a satisfied glint in her eyes.
Ning Xin said she needed to use the restroom. Once inside, she called Jiang Lingyu to ask where she was and where the wedding was being held. She had brought Ye Wan and Jiang Yan with her.
Jiang Lingyu said she was getting ready and asked them to wait a little longer.
After hanging up, Ning Xin came out of the restroom and sat on the sofa to wait.
Jiang Yan suddenly felt unwell and felt like she was going to throw up. She stood up to go to the restroom but realized she couldn't move.
"Ye Wan, why can't I move?" Jiang Yan looked at the other two nervously.
Ye Wan also realized something was wrong. She seemed unable to move either, her body feeling weak. Ning Xin was slightly better, perhaps because she had just been to the restroom and had only just come out, so she was still fine.
"Ning Xin, something is wrong! This might be a trap! Quickly call the police!" Jiang Yan sensed that something was amiss and looked anxiously at Ning Xin, who was the only one unaffected.
"Jiang Yan, Ye Wan, don't be scared. Actually, I lied to you. Today is actually Jiang Lingyu's wedding. She asked me to trick you two to come. She said she would sincerely apologize to both of you at the wedding and ask for your forgiveness... So I thought, since we're all classmates, let's give each other a chance. Jiang Yan was stunned, looking at her classmate with disbelief. "Ning Xin, you've been tricked! Hurry and call! It will be too late if you don't!"
"It won't happen. Jiang Lingyu wouldn't lie to me. She must genuinely want to apologize. Just give her a chance," Ning Xin still looked at them sincerely.
Jiang Yan was sweating anxiously, her face extremely pale. Ye Wan no longer wanted to say anything more to Ning Xin. At this point, she was still foolishly believing Jiang Lingyu's nonsense. Further talk was useless.
Ye Wan struggled with all her might to reach for her phone. Using almost all her strength, she unlocked it and dialed a number. She didn't know whose it was. By now, she no longer had the strength to pull out her phone.
"Believe me, I wouldn't harm you. Jiang Lingyu was just momentarily blinded. She knows she made a mistake and has come to apologize. Isn't this a good opportunity?" Ning Xin continued to babble.
