Madam Lin was already fuming. Why didn't she consider that she had just bought the wedding dress with Madam Jiang? How could Ye Wan possibly know about it?
Madam Lin was too quick. With all her might, she unzipped Ye Wan’s wedding dress halfway. With another tug, Ye Wan was almost exposed.
Ye Wan wanted to push away the frenzied woman, but her hands had to cover her chest to prevent exposure. Madam Lin was strong, and she couldn’t push her away. The wedding dress was about to be torn even further.
As soon as Jiang Yan realized what was happening, she rushed over to shield Ye Wan and shouted angrily, "Who are you? Why are you snatching the wedding dress?"
"This wedding dress was bought for my daughter. I spent two million! What right do I have, you ask? Does such a humble, lowly bitch deserve to wear my daughter's wedding dress? Now that it's been worn by a promiscuous woman like you, what's the difference between it and trash!" Madam Lin had calmed down by now, still glaring at Ye Wan with contempt and disgust.
"Ah Ting, I'm sorry you had to witness this. I don't know how Ye Wan ended up wearing the wedding dress my mother bought for me."
Lin Feiwei's words made Ye Wan look up. She saw Gu Yunting, who was supposed to be on a business trip, standing beside Lin Feiwei, his gaze cold as he watched the scene unfold.
Ye Wan felt incredibly embarrassed by the surrounding gazes. She turned towards the fitting room, but the skirt of the wedding dress was too large. She accidentally stepped on the tulle, and she stumbled forward, her upper-body wedding dress completely falling off.
She knew she was going to be completely exposed. She shamefully closed her eyes, and as she fell to the ground, a piece of clothing was draped over her.
...
Ye Wan left the bridal shop through a side door. She couldn't bear to see the Lin mother and daughter or Gu Yunting anymore.
Jiang Yan was crying with anger. She felt like everything was her fault and that she had failed Ye Wan.
Ye Wan wasn't doing any better. She didn't care about the other embarrassments, but the humiliation of almost being stripped naked in public was unbearable.
Even though Gu Yunting had eventually covered her with a piece of clothing, she still felt as if she had been stripped bare in front of everyone. Ye Wan leaned against the car window with a blank expression, her numb heart still rippling.
Didn't Gu Yunting say he was going on a business trip for seven days? How could he be back in just three days? Ye Wan knew he was a workaholic, and the only reason he would return so soon was probably to accompany his fiancée for a wedding dress fitting.
She sighed heavily in her heart again.
Jiang Yan was both heartbroken and furious, crying incessantly beside her.
Ye Wan looked at her and said, "Stop crying. Now is not the time for tears. Madam Lin wants your family to compensate for the wedding dress. Go home and see how the situation is, then tell me."
Years of hardship had taught Ye Wan early on that crying was useless when trouble arose. It was better to hold back tears and find a solution.
"Aren't you sad? That old woman named Lin treated you like that! I really wish I could kill her!" Jiang Yan was truly indignant.
"You go home first and tell me when you have an update." Ye Wan didn't answer her question. Perhaps she was truly fated to a difficult life; she wasn't that heartbroken, and at least she didn't feel like crying.
Seeing her like this only made Jiang Yan feel more heartache.
...
Madam Lin still wanted to greet Gu Yunting. Gu Yunting didn't even glance at her and turned away coldly, leaving without a word.
Madam Lin was shocked by his arrogant attitude. She looked at her daughter hesitantly, "Is Gu Yunting angry? Because of that maid?"
