Ye Wan first changed her computer's IP address to avoid being traced, then sent all the evidence she had gathered over the years about Chu Group's scandals, tax evasion, and bribery to obtain projects to the media. She also published it on her social media account and finally sent it to the procuratorate.
After finishing, Ye Wan cleaned up any traces of her presence and left the internet cafe.
Every step she took caused her considerable pain due to the gunshot wound in her leg, but she had to endure it to deal with the troublesome Chu Ziyin. As long as this menace remained, her life would be in danger!
Ye Wan sometimes felt she should thank Chu Ziyin. To deal with him over the years, she had taught herself computer hacking skills. She had spent nearly a year studying day and night, almost neglecting her studies.
Her hard work paid off. She had finally become self-taught. Every night, when the world was quiet, she would secretly hack into Chu Group's internal systems, collecting evidence sufficient to bring down the company.
By the time Ye Wan stumbled back to her hospital room, she was utterly exhausted. As she pushed the door open, she saw Gu Yunting sitting on the hospital bed.
Ye Wan: "..."
She saw a meal box on the table, one with the distinct packaging of the Gu family. So, Gu Yunting was here to bring her food?
"Where did you just go?" Gu Yunting asked, leaning back on his arms, his gaze fixed on her like a leopard.
"I was hungry and went out to find something to eat," Ye Wan replied calmly, her face betraying no hint of deception.
"Heh, doesn't the hospital have food for you?" Gu Yunting was clearly dissatisfied with her answer.
"They do, but it's all hospital food, too bland. I went out to find something I like," Ye Wan said, taking off her hat and putting it away.
Gu Yunting: "..."
He didn't say anything further, but instead, he carried the meal box to the table and began eating with his chopsticks.
Ye Wan: "..."
Wasn't he here to bring her food?
She took her hospital gown to the bathroom to change. When she came out, she heard Gu Yunting say, "Is there any part of you I haven't seen?"
Ye Wan was speechless. Even if he had seen it all, it didn't mean she was willing to change in front of him. But she was too lazy to argue and lay down on the bed, preparing to sleep.
Gu Yunting continued to eat. As Ye Wan lay on the bed, the aroma of the food kept wafting into her nostrils. It turned out to be all her favorite dishes. When Sun Ma came that evening, she had only brought rice and vegetables. At the Gu residence, Sun Ma had no authority, and all matters had to be reported to the steward. Since the steward disliked her so much, Sun Ma couldn't possibly bring her anything delicious.
"Still not eating?" Gu Yunting asked.
Ye Wan simply covered her head with a pillow, hoping to block out the smell of the food.
Suddenly, the blanket on her body was pulled away, and the next moment, she was lifted into the air. Ye Wan looked nervously at the man beside her, "What are you doing?"
"Less nonsense!" Gu Yunting carried Ye Wan to the dining table and sat down. He then sat back in the adjacent seat and threw a pair of chopsticks at her.
His attitude was nothing short of atrocious!
"I'm not hungry," Ye Wan said, but as soon as she finished speaking, her stomach growled loudly. She covered it with her hand, feeling utterly speechless.
"If you don't want your efforts to be in vain, eat this obediently," Gu Yunting's sharp gaze fixed on her.
Ye Wan's breath hitched. Did he know what she had done? A flicker of panic crossed her eyes. Did he also know about her brother's existence?
