Gu Yunting invited Jin Lan and Jiang Jingxiu to a club for drinks. The multi-million dollar sports car parked at the entrance immediately drew the attention of the valet.
Gu Yunting's descent from the car instantly captivated everyone. A girl who had been loitering by the entrance lit up the moment she saw him. Ling Feifei excitedly rushed forward, intending to block Gu Yunting, but was intercepted by bodyguards lurking in the shadows.
"Young Master Gu, I am Ling Feifei, Young Master Gu, I have something to tell you." Ling Feifei shouted excitedly, as if afraid Gu Yunting wouldn't hear her.
Gu Yunting turned his head towards the sound, but after only a glance, he coldly withdrew his gaze and strode into the club.
Seeing that their master paid no attention to the woman, the bodyguards continued to block her.
Ling Feifei wanted to chase after Gu Yunting. She didn't believe Gu Yunting had forgotten her; she thought he simply hadn't seen her.
"Let me go, why are you so annoying? Do you know who I am? I'm the woman Young Master Gu is keeping! If you offend me, be careful I'll have Young Master Gu fire you later!" Frustrated by the bodyguards' obstruction, Ling Feifei put her hands on her hips and cursed.
Bodyguards, "?????"
Are you sick?
Then, Ling Feifei was roughly escorted away by two bodyguards and warned that if she dared to deliberately approach Young Master Gu again, she would be handed over to the police and locked up.
...
Gu Yunting felt he might genuinely be sick. Why was it that every time something related to Ye Wan happened, he would get so angry he felt like spitting fire? He drank one glass of alcohol after another. When Jin Lan and Jiang Jingxiu arrived, seeing they couldn't dissuade him, they joined him for drinks.
After the three had drunk their fill, Jin Lan finally asked, "Brother, what's wrong this time?"
"Nothing, I just want to drink," Gu Yunting replied indifferently, picking up his glass and downing it in one gulp.
"It's obvious something's up, and it's related to Ye Wan again. How has she bullied you *yet again*? Tell me, and I'll go settle the score with her!" Jin Lan's expression was one of shared indignation.
Gu Yunting glanced at him and said, "She wants to leave."
"Oh, isn't that normal? She suffered so much hardship and pain at the Gu residence. It would be abnormal if she *didn't* want to leave. I understand your feelings." Jin Lan chuckled inwardly. He used to act as if Ye Wan owed him her life, and now he was anxious.
Both he and Jiang Jingxiu felt that Ye Wan was probably the most innocent party in the events of that year. But Gu Yunting wouldn't listen to anyone. Anyone who dared to say Ye Wan was innocent would be met with his frenzied defiance, as if he were determined to condemn her and keep her at the Gu residence to atone!
At the time, Aunt Gu was also on the brink of death and almost couldn't be saved. In a way, his madness was understandable. It was only after Aunt Gu recovered that he stopped going mad, but his personality changed drastically, and he was no longer the Gu Yunting of old.
"Actually, back then, it was thanks to you that Ye Wan was confined to the Gu residence. Otherwise, the grass on her grave would probably be taller than she was."
Jiang Jingxiu said faintly. He too had only later vaguely realized that Gu Yunting's insistence on keeping Ye Wan at the Gu residence was, in a way, a form of protection.
At the time, emotions were running high, and it would have been easy to kill Ye Wan, a mere child. He only came to this realization after he grew up, though he wasn't entirely sure, as no one could truly fathom Gu Yunting's thoughts.
Hearing this, Gu Yunting became even more agitated. He picked up his wine glass and continued to drink until he was almost unconscious. Jin Lan and Jiang Jingxiu exchanged a helpless glance and could only support the drunken man and leave the private room.
The two of them put Gu Yunting into the car and then got in themselves. They had to go and persuade Ye Wan not to bully Gu Yunting all the time; he had had a very difficult time over the years.
Ling Feifei, who had secretly returned, watched the outstanding man with growing anxiety. She had been trying to see Gu Yunting recently and had visited the company countless times, only to be blocked each time. Why were those people so bothersome? Why were they preventing her from meeting Gu Yunting!
When she next saw Gu Yunting, she would report those blind dogs and have Gu Yunting fire them all!!
