Chapter 144 Do You Want to Experience the Bitter Hardships of the Human World?

Gu Yunting alighted from the car, his inherent regal aura exuding a powerful presence. His noble bearing made it clear he was not to be trifled with, and the man he had been facing visibly trembled.

Ye Wan forcefully pulled her arm back and turned to leave. The man dared not pursue her; under Gu Yunting's death glare, he didn't dare utter a word. Trembling, he got back into his car and sped away.

Gu Yunting strode towards Ye Wan, following behind her. She quickened her pace upon hearing his footsteps, but the familiar sound kept pace with her.

It wasn't until they reached the bus stop that Ye Wan, exasperated, turned to face the man who had been trailing her. "What are you doing?"

"Taking the bus," Gu Yunting said, glancing at her briefly before checking the time on his wrist.

Ye Wan was speechless. *Is he crazy?*

"You could have your driver pick you up," Ye Wan said, frowning at the man who seemed to be earnestly waiting for the bus.

"The car broke down," Gu Yunting replied nonchalantly, as if totaling a multi-million dollar luxury car was as trivial as a spoiled vegetable.

Ye Wan wanted to say that Gu Manor had at least dozens of cars in the garage, but what did it matter to her if he wanted to take the bus? Annoyed, she turned away, ignoring him.

The man and woman stood silently at the rather shabby bus stop. Gu Yunting's expression was unreadable, but his attire was conspicuously out of place.

The bus approached. This was the starting point, and there were few passengers from the affluent residential area; only service staff from the surrounding estates would take it.

The doors opened, and Ye Wan swiped her card to board, looking for a seat.

Gu Yunting followed her onto the bus, walking behind her. The driver immediately stopped him. "Hey, swipe your card or pay the fare."

Gu Yunting had neither a card nor change, so he looked at Ye Wan.

Ye Wan ignored him, pretending not to see him, hoping he would give up. A man with dozens of luxury cars at home, why would he take the bus?

Seeing her ignore him, Gu Yunting took out his wallet and pulled out a hundred-yuan bill, intending to put it in the fare box.

"I'll swipe for you!" Ye Wan exclaimed, her head aching. This spendthrift! Two yuan for a bus ride, and he was going to put in a hundred? He was truly insane!

Ye Wan had no choice but to get up, return, and swipe her card again. She then turned and walked towards the back, finding a seat.

"Move to the back, hold on tight, and be seated!" the driver said as he pulled away from the station.

Gu Yunting slowly put the money back into his wallet and walked to Ye Wan, standing in front of her and holding onto a handrail.

Ye Wan had deliberately chosen a single seat to avoid sitting with him, but he was standing right in front of her!

"Find a seat somewhere!" Ye Wan was truly exasperated. She was genuinely curious, what exactly did this young master want? Was he suddenly trying to experience the hardships of common folk?

Gu Yunting neither moved nor sat, simply standing before her. Ye Wan, too tired to care, leaned her head against the window to rest, as she usually did. People got on at subsequent stops, and each person would steal a few glances at Gu Yunting. After all, his suited, elite appearance clearly indicated he wasn't a typical bus passenger. Some young people even took out their phones to take pictures, preparing to post on social media.

When the bus finally reached her stop, Ye Wan immediately got up and squeezed towards the rear door, ready to disembark. Gu Yunting followed her, shielding her from behind. Observing the crowded conditions inside the bus, he frowned slightly.

In these past years, was this how she endured the daily crush to get to school?
