"Ting, let her eat with us. We can't finish all this anyway," Hua Rong suggested gently.
"As you wish," Gu Yun Ting gave the woman opposite him a doting smile.
Ye Wan didn't want to eat at all. "Thank you both for your kindness, I'm not hungry."
"Don't be polite, sit down." Hua Rong got up and took Ye Wan's hand, leading her to a seat.
Ye Wan's body tensed. Her seat was closer to Gu Yun Ting. Would he recognize her?
Hua Rong enthusiastically got her chopsticks and even served her a dish, smiling at her and urging her to eat.
Ye Wan really didn't want to eat. Her stomach felt unwell, and she suspected she would vomit even if she did eat. But thinking of Gu Yun Ting's doting on this woman, would he be angry if she didn't eat?
She could only resign herself, pick up her chopsticks, take a bite of food, and stuff it into her mouth. The dish was delicious. For most people, eating such delicacies would be a pleasure, but for Ye Wan at that moment, it was torture.
She mechanically swallowed the food. As it went down, Ye Wan's stomach felt even worse.
Gu Yun Ting continued to eat at a leisurely pace. Hua Rong served him dishes and then served Ye Wan, eating very little herself. "Eat slowly, no one's rushing you."
After finishing a plate of food, Ye Wan finally couldn't take it anymore. She got up and rushed into the bathroom, clutching the toilet and vomiting.
She threw up everything she had eaten, and even more. Ye Wan felt dizzy and lightheaded. She quickly got up, went to the sink, rinsed her mouth, and washed her face.
When she looked up, she was startled by the person in the mirror. Her face looked like a spilled palette of colors, exceptionally unsightly.
"Oh no, I was feeling so sick just now that I forgot I had makeup on. Now that I've washed it off, even though my face is dirty, Gu Yun Ting will surely recognize me."
Ye Wan panicked for a moment.
Footsteps sounded from outside. Ye Wan quickly closed and locked the door, saying, "Excuse me, I have a stomach ache and need to use the restroom."
"It's alright, take your time, no need to rush... Are you really okay?"
"I'm fine, thank you."
The footsteps receded. Ye Wan was so nervous she didn't know what to do. Thinking about how determined she had been to leave the Gu residence before, even going so far as to tell Gu Yun Ting that the only way she'd return was as a corpse, she fell into deeper despair.
Ye Wan stayed in there for a full half hour. There was no sound outside. Had Gu Yun Ting and that lady gone back to their room to sleep?
Considering this possibility, Ye Wan dared to open the door cautiously. Indeed, it was pitch black outside. She tiptoed out of the bathroom, wondering how she could possibly get Gu Yun Ting to talk to her.
With a "snap," the lights came on. Ye Wan nervously looked towards the source of the sound and saw Gu Yun Ting sitting on the recliner where Hua Rong had been massaging him, staring at her with a blank expression.
Hua Rong was no longer there.
Ye Wan didn't know where that woman had gone. This was a good opportunity for her. She immediately walked towards Gu Yun Ting, stopping about five meters away from him.
"Gu Yun Ting, I need your help," Ye Wan said, having decided to go all out. Today was the last day; she had to make him agree to donate bone marrow to her brother.
"Get lost, you disgust me!" Gu Yun Ting's cold eyes were filled with loathing, and Ye Wan's heart felt as if it had been pricked by needles.
"I... I'm not dirty... I didn't do anything of that sort with Jun Li Chen," Ye Wan quickly explained, her pale cheeks involuntarily flushing slightly.
"Heh~ What does it matter to me how you are! I'm telling you to get lost now!" Gu Yun Ting's handsome face was full of impatience. He took out his phone, intending to call someone to throw her out.
