After Ye Wan was thrown far away, she knew she had no time to dwell on her misfortunes. She needed to see Gu Yunting as soon as possible.
She looked at the opulent hotel and recalled having worked there part-time. She quickly took out her phone and dialed a former colleague.
"Hello, Mengmeng, are you still working at the Majestic Hotel? Can you get me a uniform? I need to go in and find someone."
Ten minutes later, Yang Mengmeng emerged from the hotel's back entrance. The guards at the door stared at her, making her scalp tingle.
When Yang Mengmeng saw Ye Wan, she was terrified. She handed Ye Wan a uniform and said, "You absolutely cannot cause trouble for me. I've been working here for three years, and I'm about to get promoted!"
"I understand, Mengmeng. I promise I won't cause you any trouble. Thank you." Ye Wan gratefully clasped her hand.
"Oh, why is your hand so cold? Never mind, I won't ask. I know you're a reliable person. I'll be going back now. Don't sell me out." Yang Mengmeng turned and headed back.
Ye Wan watched the girl's plump retreating figure, committing this kindness to memory. She then turned and found a place to change. However, Yang Mengmeng was too large, and the uniform was very ill-fitting on Ye Wan, constantly slipping off. Finally, she found a two-dollar shop and bought some safety pins to secure the clothes so they wouldn't fall off.
She also bought some cheap cosmetics from the shop and applied them to herself. In less than ten minutes, Ye Wan had a new face, appearing quite ordinary.
Ye Wan entered through a side door. She didn't quite recognize the guards there. As she walked in, they stared at her. She feigned nervousness, not daring to meet their gaze, and entered the hotel.
Once inside, Ye Wan pondered Gu Yunting's whereabouts. Typically, he would be in a presidential suite, but there would surely be guards outside his room, making it impossible for her to get in.
Ye Wan went up to the floor of the presidential suites. As expected, several guards were stationed outside. Gu Yunting's other personal bodyguard, Gu Ye, was there, his sharp gaze sweeping over everything.
Half an hour later, Ye Wan pushed a dining cart and walked over with feigned composure.
She was stopped by Gu Ye at the door. His sharp gaze fell on her face. Ye Wan dared not meet his eyes and said, "I'm here to deliver dinner."
Gu Ye's eyes remained fixed on her. Just as Ye Wan thought she had been recognized, the man slowly lowered his hand and commanded, "Open the door."
Ye Wan entered the presidential suite without further incident, secretly sighing in relief.
Outside the door, Gu Ye turned and stared at it for a few seconds before turning back to continue patrolling the surrounding area as if nothing had happened.
"Delivering dinner? You can leave after setting it up," Hua Rong's voice came, laced with languor and casualness. It was evident she was very relaxed.
Ye Wan thought of herself when she was with Gu Yunting. She had always been tense, never as at ease as this woman.
It seemed Gu Yunting treated her very well.
She searched for Gu Yunting, her gaze falling on the bathroom. Water sounds emerged from within; he was taking a bath!
Ye Wan couldn't describe her feelings, only knowing that her already heavy heart felt even more constricted. She began to set the table, her movements slow. She hoped Gu Yunting would come out.
She was still thinking about how to approach Gu Yunting to persuade him to agree to donate bone marrow to her brother. She had thought of many things, but now, her mind was a jumble.
