"You guys move the corn seedlings onto the helicopter first."
By now, Qin Shilei had killed the last silver beetle. He and Zhang Xiaoli once again blocked the front, standing in the way of the attacking scythe beetles.
Han Hongyu immediately grabbed a small bucket containing the corn seedlings with one of his subordinates and climbed towards the helicopter.
Zeng Deyuan watched Han Hongyu, who was clutching the corn seedlings and climbing into the helicopter. His face darkened, and he said harshly, "Boss, why don't we just leave those two here and let them fend for themselves? That way, no one will compete with us for the mutated corn."
Upon hearing this, Han Hongyu's face showed a flicker of interest.
It wasn't just about monopolizing the mutated corn, but also a fear that the other party might harbor malicious intentions after leaving this place.
If the other party, relying on their powerful strength, decided to monopolize the mutated corn and annihilate them, they would likely have no power to resist.
Zeng Deyuan urged again, "Boss, as long as we make the helicopter ascend quickly, they'll be stuck below to feed the bugs."
"Boss, make a decision quickly, they're about to climb up."
Han Hongyu's expression shifted rapidly, but he couldn't make up his mind for a moment.
Zeng Deyuan moved closer to the helicopter door, drew his long saber, and looked at the base of the rope ladder: "Boss, as soon as our people climb into the helicopter, I'll give it a gentle slash, and they'll surely die."
"Boss, he said his name is Qin, and his strength is so terrifying. Could he be the number one person on the rankings?" the person who had just climbed up with the corn seedlings suddenly said.
"Qin Shilei? It must be him."
Han Hongyu said with a frown.
He paused and then added, "Deyuan, sit down quickly. I, Han Hongyu, am a man of integrity. How could I do something so treacherous?"
Inwardly, he was intimidated by the terrifying strength the other party had displayed and feared that the other party might have some unknown trump cards. He didn't want to risk offending him.
As soon as he finished speaking, he noticed a silver beetle scurrying rapidly from a distance. It leaped towards Qin Shilei, who was at the very bottom.
Just as Han Hongyu expected Qin Shilei to be knocked down by the beetle and fall, he suddenly lost sight of him.
Qin Shilei's familiar voice suddenly rang in his ears, "Xiaoli, give me your hand."
"Ah!" Han Hongyu asked in surprise, "How did you suddenly appear here?"
"It was just a teleportation," Qin Shilei said, pulling Zhang Xiaoli into the helicopter.
He paused and then asked, "I thought I just heard something about integrity and betraying trust. You guys didn't have any bad ideas, did you?"
"No, absolutely not," Han Hongyu said, waving his hands frantically to clarify. "We were just saying that Brother Qin is a man of integrity."
"Haha, don't overthink it. There are two mutated corn plants. I won't harm you because of them," Qin Shilei said with a smile to reassure them.
"Yes, yes, my timid subordinate just thinks too much," Han Hongyu chimed in casually, inwardly feeling extremely fortunate.
Fortunately, he hadn't followed Zeng Deyuan's suggestion, or he might have been kicked off the plane by the other party and died below.
Zeng Deyuan also retreated into the helicopter, his eyes darting around.
This was really unlucky. He had actually thought of tricking the number one person on the rankings, and the other party even possessed the incredible skill of teleportation. It was impossible to trick him.
He probably could be instantly killed by any random move from the other party.
Fortunately, the helicopter was loud enough that he hadn't clearly heard what he had just said.
While Han Hongyu and his men were feeling uneasy, Qin Shilei and Zhang Xiaoli were already studying the corn seedling.
"Xiaoli, can this corn survive after being taken from its original soil?" Qin Shilei asked with some concern.
"It should be fine. After all, it's almost fully mature," Zhang Xiaoli replied while inputting wood-attribute spiritual energy into the corn.
"That's good." Qin Shilei stood up and said to Han Hongyu, "Could you have the helicopter fly towards Nanzhuang City and drop us off after we leave this area infested with insects?"
"Brother Qin, so you're from Nanzhuang City."
Han Hongyu replied without hesitation, "Of course, I can."
Just as the helicopter turned towards Nanzhuang City, a dark mass suddenly appeared in the sky ahead, rushing towards them.
"Quick, quick, turn and avoid them!"
Han Hongyu's face changed drastically, and he shouted urgently to the pilot.
Although they didn't know what kind of creatures those were, the experienced crew understood that one should not engage in aerial combat with flying creatures, or they would end up with a wrecked helicopter and dead passengers.
Before Han Hongyu could even give the order, the pilot had already steered the helicopter to obliquely avoid the creatures' flight path.
"Brother Qin, it looks like those things have targeted us."
Zhang Xiaoli noticed that no matter how the pilot changed direction, the flock of birds kept chasing them.
The only fortunate thing was that they had discovered them in time, so the creatures hadn't caught up yet, but the distance between them was constantly shrinking.
As the distance shortened, the group finally saw clearly through the binoculars that they were a flock of fist-sized birds, numbering at least tens of thousands.
Although the birds were not large, their beaks were long, about ten centimeters.
Twenty minutes later.
The flock of birds had closed in to fifty meters behind the helicopter.
"Boss, let's land quickly," Zeng Deyuan said with a pale face.
Han Hongyu looked up at Qin Shilei, seeking his opinion with his eyes.
Qin Shilei leaned out to look down. Below was a small town, but occasionally a few scythe beetles could be seen moving on the roads.
Logically, given the helicopter's speed, they should have left the insect-infested area.
However, in their haste to evade the birds behind, the pilot had flown in a panic, and they didn't know where they were going, leading to the discovery of insects below.
After some thought, Qin Shilei said, "Let's find a place to land."
Han Hongyu observed the surroundings and pointed to a building over ten stories high. "Let's land in the open space nearby."
As their helicopter descended towards that spot, another helicopter followed closely behind.
"Brother Qin, those birds have caught up with the helicopter behind," Zhang Xiaoli suddenly said.
Qin Shilei looked up and saw the flock of birds suddenly accelerate and dive like marlin, using their sharp beaks to ram into the helicopter.
*Puff, puff, puff!*
The group seemed to hear a series of impact sounds.
Under the high-speed collision, the birds did not die. Instead, they left many small holes on the plane.
"Quick, get into the building!"
As soon as the helicopter landed, Qin Shilei immediately picked up one of the corn seedlings, pulled Zhang Xiaoli, and rushed into the building ahead.
Han Hongyu and his men followed closely behind.
At this moment, the other helicopter had just landed.
However, facing the densely packed birds surrounding them, the four people inside the helicopter dared not open the cabin door.
"Run! Staying here is a dead end," Han Hongyu yelled back, then turned and rushed into the building.
As Qin Shilei burst into the building, a scythe beetle lunged at him.
"Get lost!"
He kicked the creature away forcefully.
The beetle flew seven or eight meters through the air, slammed into the wall behind it, became embedded in the wall, and died instantly.
Qin Shilei pulled Zhang Xiaoli and climbed directly to the fifteenth floor in one go. He opened a suite, rushed in, closed the door, and then drew the curtains.
