Not long after Zhang Xiaoli's small drone flew back, the drone returned and circled for a while before leaving.
Then, for half an hour, the drone didn't reappear.
"Maybe their batteries are dead," Zhang Xiaoli guessed. She then asked, "Should I try to lure these zombies away now?"
"Okay, be careful," Qin Shilei said as he helped place the drone on the balcony.
With a whirring sound, the drone flew to about two meters above the zombies.
After circling once, it flew out of the girls' dormitory building.
The dense horde of zombies chased after the drone and also ran out.
A portion of the zombies had already left the area.
If they could lure them away a few more times, they should be able to break free.
"Damn it! That drone is back, and it's bringing those zombies with it!" Zhang Xiaoli pointed at the screen, her voice filled with anger.
"Come back for now," Qin Shilei said expressionlessly.
He unslung his bow from his back and entered the dormitory's bathroom.

【Refresh.】
Three circles, two white and one red, appeared on the bow. A red attribute had appeared again. Qin Shilei's face lit up with joy as he tapped the circles.
Durability (White): Increases the hardness of the bow body slightly, decent for hitting people.
Accuracy (White): Increases accuracy slightly, but don't expect too much.
Tracking (Red): 100% hit within twenty meters. A perfect tool for showing off.
Alas, a perfect tool for showing off. It was truly only good for showing off. This was an inferior shortbow. When killing zombies earlier, Qin Shilei had used it to try and lure enemies. At about ten meters, he shot an arrow into a zombie, and only one arrowhead penetrated, with almost no lethality. It was a waste of such a good red attribute. If this were a divine bow with an effective range of 500 meters, he would instantly transform into a master archer. With pinpoint accuracy within 500 meters, why would he fear mere zombies? Now, it could only be used to shoot down drones.
Qin Shilei returned to the dormitory, drawing his bow, ready to shoot. The balcony door was half-open, and the curtains had a gap. Zhang Xiaoli's drone appeared in his line of sight first, followed by the other drone.
"Whoosh!"
Qin Shilei released the string. The arrow flew through the balcony, made a turn, and accurately struck the other drone. The drone wobbled and fell from the sky.
On the rooftop of Building 3 of the boys' dormitory.
"My drone seems to have malfunctioned and fallen to the ground, breaking," Sun Wen said with a bitter expression, turning to his younger brother.
"I'll go take a look." Sun Wu activated his own drone and flew towards the girls' dormitory building.
Two minutes later.
Sun Wu's face turned deathly pale. Through the screen, he saw an arrow curve towards his drone. Then, the drone lost signal. What the hell! Arrows that could curve? Did they think this was a movie?
"What do we do now?"
"Do we have to go out and fight zombies with kitchen knives?"
"If Liu Yuanliang finds out our drones are gone, he probably won't bring us along to kill zombies."
The Sun brothers, Wen and Wu, were filled with apprehension about the future. Because they had drones, their status within the group was relatively superior. They didn't have to fight zombies, yet they received food and even two crystal cores. Now, it was all gone.
Putting aside the dejected Sun Wen and Sun Wu, Zhang Xiaoli watched as Qin Shilei effortlessly shot down both enemy drones with just two arrows. Her eyes shone with brilliance. She had truly latched onto the right person! She hadn't expected him to possess such unerring archery skills. In her cheerful mood, Zhang Xiaoli's drone maneuvers became even more agile. She quickly lured the swarms of zombies out of the girls' dormitory area.
An hour later.
Most of the zombies downstairs had been lured away, leaving only a dozen or so stragglers in various corners. Qin Shilei looked at the overcast sky and said, "Let's fly back for now. Otherwise, the drones might get wet in the rain."
"Okay, all three batteries are dead. We need to charge them." Zhang Xiaoli nodded in response.
As the drones landed on the balcony, a flash of lightning split the sky.
"Rumble!"
A clap of thunder exploded! Then, raindrops as big as soybeans began to pour down.
"No power?" Zhang Xiaoli tried again and again, but the charger showed no reaction. Desperate, she tried the light switch in the room. No response either. The power was really gone! She wondered if the power lines had been struck by lightning or if the power plant was no longer operational due to a lack of staff. Zhang Xiaoli looked at Qin Shilei with trepidation. Without power, the drones were just scrap metal. Did this mean she had lost her value and was about to be abandoned?
Qin Shilei asked, "Are there any generators in the school?" Zhang Xiaoli frowned and thought for a moment, then her eyes lit up. "The laboratories in the teaching building have generators."
"But the labs are over a thousand meters away from our dormitory."
Qin Shilei said indifferently, "We'll talk about the generator later. Let's eat something first."
"Okay!" Zhang Xiaoli happily accepted the bread Qin Shilei handed her. While eating lunch, she counted her harvested crystal cores. A total of 121 gray crystal cores and one core that was white with a hint of blue. Of these, 56 were dug out from zombies killed that morning, and 65 were sold in the morning. There were still thirty to forty zombies downstairs whose crystal cores had not been extracted, otherwise, the number would be even more impressive.
Qin Shilei counted out 25 gray crystal cores and pushed them towards Zhang Xiaoli. "Absorb these, and you should be able to reach two stars."
"For me?" Zhang Xiaoli asked incredulously.
"Yes, you've earned it," Qin Shilei replied with a nod. Although he had killed all the zombies, Zhang Xiaoli had proven her worth, and she deserved a share of the crystal cores. After a morning's work, Qin Shilei had also recognized the value of the drones. Not to mention, they would need her drone to retrieve the silver treasure chest. Obedient, sensible, and not stupid. Who wouldn't want such an attractive girl who revolved around them? As long as it was beneficial to him, Qin Shilei didn't mind taking in a few reliable teammates.
An hour later, Qin Shilei finally finished absorbing all the crystal cores.
Name: Qin Shilei
Level: Plastic Six Stars
Experience: 24/180
Cultivation Method: None
He had leveled up twice, and he felt his strength was at least four to five times what it was when he first transmigrated. Qin Shilei picked up a dormitory chair and bent it forcefully, bending the metal legs to 180 degrees. He probably would have been considered a demigod on Earth now. Zhang Xiaoli was also wielding Xu Tiancheng's cleaver, swinging it around. Although it was without any technique, she could chop and slash with ease.
"Qin Shilei, thank you! I feel like I can also try to deal with zombies now." Zhang Xiaoli felt a surge of confidence in her ability to survive. Having leveled up twice, she felt her stamina was no less than that of any athletic male.
Outside, a torrential rain was falling, so Qin Shilei and the others could only kill zombies within the building. Even the zombies locked in the dormitories were released one by one and killed. When they returned to Zhang Xiaoli's dormitory, they found that her roommate, Zhu Yurong, was already dead. Her limbs were incomplete, her face unrecognizable, and her body so mangled that she hadn't even had a chance to turn into a zombie. Zhang Xiaoli silently shed tears as she draped a quilt over her roommate, then turned and continued to follow Qin Shilei in killing zombies.
