Repair Beast Essence 190: 189.
Repair Beast Essence Mo Jiuli was surprised to learn that Yun Xia was actually a Millennia-old Cannibal Flower.
No wonder she was so badly injured.
Magical beasts of the plant-type were almost powerless when they couldn’t transform back into their original forms…
As for the Crown Prince of Nanfeng Country, she had never met him.
Was he genuinely attracted to Yun Xia, or did he discover her true identity, hence the relentless pursuit of her?
After all, Nanfeng Country was not near Fengyun Country!
It seemed absurd that a Crown Prince would regularly travel to Fengyun City just to pester Yun Xia…
“If you trust me, we should first bury Old Daddy Yun, and then I’ll help you examine your body,” Mo Jiuli suggested calmly.
She was a doctor, but she wouldn’t treat just anyone.
She was willing to heal Yun Xia only because she was a demon beast.
After learning that Yun Xia was a Cannibal Flower, Mo Jiuli did have a fleeting thought of forming a contract with her, but it vanished as quickly as it came, especially with Yun Xia’s current plight being no different from a mortal’s…
“Why are you helping me?” Yun Xia asked, puzzled.
“No particular reason, maybe I just feel a connection to you!
Let’s first bury Old Daddy Yun,” Mo Jiuli advised, glancing at the corpse in the thatched cottage.
Yun Xia nodded and went into the house…
Mo Jiuli and Yun Xia cremated Old Daddy Yun’s body together and buried his ashes under the cherry tree in the small courtyard.
“Yun Xia, are you okay?” Mo Jiuli worriedly asked, looking at Yun Xia who was standing under the cherry tree without saying a word.
“I’m fine!” Yun Xia’s voice was faint and soft.
She didn’t cry.
She didn’t scream.
She was filled with the fury of her own helplessness and total incompetence.
She wasn’t human, but a heartless Cannibal Flower.
However, she had spent more than a decade living with Old Daddy Yun, starting when she was an infant.
Their father-daughter bonding was so strong that she was no different from a human…
Even after recovering her memory, she didn’t retain any Cannibal Flower instincts.
She continued living a human life, not worried about being discovered since she couldn’t revert her original form…
She never regretted anything, and she never held any grudge!
She was content with her present life, leading a simple existence with Old Daddy Yun.
She had no extravagant wishes, her only desire was for both her and her father to lead a healthy and happy life…
Yet such a small wish seemed impossible to fulfill…
So, she loathed herself!
If she had sought strength earlier, she wouldn’t have found herself in this predicament…
Mo Jiuli could understand Yun Xia`s feelings and empathized with her current pain!
Seeing Yun Xia like this made her feel sorrow…
However, she didn’t say anything and chose to stand with Yun Xia from afar…
As the sun set and the moon rose, followed by the rising sun, Mo Jiuli and Yun Xia spent an entire night standing under the cherry tree.
As dawn was breaking, Yun Xia cast one last glance at the cherry tree and the dilapidated courtyard…
Turning towards Mo Jiuli, she said, “Thank you, Miss Mo.”
With a wave of her hand, she created a red fire ball, igniting the small courtyard…
“Let’s go,” Yun Xia said with a smile to Mo Jiuli.
Mo Jiuli nodded and they exited the engulfed courtyard…
Not far from the Yun Family’s place, in the forest, Yun Xia led Mo Jiuli to a cave where she had often rested when collecting medicinal materials…
While Mo Jiuli had initially considered taking her to an inn, Yun Xia declined.
Since she was a plant-type demon beast and Old Daddy Yun was no more, if Mo Jiuli couldn’t discern her internal condition, she planned to train in the Demon Beast Forest and become stronger…
Upon arriving at the cave, Mo Jiuli asked Yun Xia to sit aside as she used her spiritual force to examine Yun Xia’s internal condition.
After a long while, Mo Jiuli retracted her spiritual force and said to Yun Xia, “Your Beast Essence was damaged by Thunder Tribulation during your transformation which is why you can’t revert to your original form.”
“Can I recover?” Yun Xia asked excitedly.
“Yes, you can.
Although the process might be quite painful…” Mo Jiuli hesitated.
In reality, she wanted to tell Yun Xia that the process would be extremely torturous.
Repairing the Beast Essence was complicated and agonising.
She had never attempted it and wasn’t sure if it was even possible!
“It doesn’t matter.
No matter how painful or difficult, I can endure it!” Yun Xia smiled faintly.
As long as she could become her true self again, there was nothing she was afraid of…
Mo Jiuli nodded and started gathering the medicinal materials.
It was almost similar to how she had cured her own cousin.
She set up two small Illusion Arrays and a Defensive Array outside the cave to ensure that nothing would interrupt their healing process…
Once she was ready, Mo Jiuli brought out an alchemy furnace and put all the required materials inside.
Then, she gave Yun Xia an elixir and said, “For the next seven days, you mustn’t lose consciousness!
If it hurts, feel free to scream or cry!”
Yun Xia nodded and swallowed the elixir.
She then jumped into the prepared alchemy furnace, leaving only her head outside…
Mo Jiuli appreciated Yun Xia’s trust in her.
While she was preparing, Yun Xia just quietly watched from the sidelines without questioning her intentions.
This silent trust made Mo Jiuli resolve to cure Yun Xia’s wounds no matter what…
“Little Black, go!” Mo Jiuli called out Little Black who entered the base of the alchemy furnace…
The flame within Little Black slowly began to burn and the elixir Yun Xia had consumed started working.
She felt unbearable discomfort inside her body, as if it was about to explode, causing her forehead to break out in a cold sweat…
She bit her lip to suppress any sound of pain while the medicinal effect of the materials in the alchemy furnace kicked in.
The heat from inside and the cold from outside made Yun Xia shiver but she still managed to stay silent…
Mo Jiuli remained seated, using her powerful spiritual force to observe Yun Xia’s situation inside the alchemy furnace.
This was her first time repairing Beast Essence and she was being extra cautious…
Time passed excruciatingly slowly as the two endured the next three days…
For those three days, Yun Xia remained silent.
It wasn’t until the night of the fourth day that she finally couldn’t restrain herself and screamed…
Mo Jiuli watched Yun Xia’s agonized howls and found it hard to bear, but this was crucial and so she couldn’t stop…
“I’m fine!” Yun Xia, sweaty and strained, looked at Mo Jiuli, managing to smile.
The following days were punctuated by Yun Xia’s screams.
The pain was so intense – worse than she could have ever imagined, even more terrible than death itself…
Finally, on the seventh night, the final wave of pain caused Yun Xia to lose consciousness…
