Chapter 470 - 459: Fierce Ghost

Chapter 470: Chapter 459: Fierce Ghost

"Here, eat." Early in the morning, Chu Cheng had gone to work, and only Song Jin and Chu Ran were left in the villa. She placed a bowl of plain congee in front of Xiao Ran. Because of her rough movement, the contact with the marble table emitted a harsh clashing sound, causing the congee in the bowl to spill out.

Caught off guard by the sudden noise, Xiao Ran jumped in fright, his little face turning pale. His big innocent eyes looked at Song Jin, not understanding why Aunt Xiao Jin, who used to be kind to him, had become like this after his mom disappeared.

However, children are sensitive by nature. Knowing that Aunt Xiao Jin didn’t like him now, he looked down after a glance, stubbornly pursing his lips.

"Oh, so now you’re showing your temper? You really think your mother is still around? Eat it or not, I don’t care to serve you. Even your dad has stopped caring about you now, why should I?" Song Jin sneered coldly to herself as she drank her bird’s nest congee.

Xiao Ran didn’t make a sound, remembering his mom’s instructions to eat well, he finally picked up the spoon.

Seeing this, Song Jin let out another cold snort. She finished her bird’s nest congee in a few bites and then said to Chu Ran, "Clean your bowl after you’ve finished eating. I’m not supporting idlers here, did you hear me?"

Xiao Ran said nothing, and Song Jin’s temper flared even more. She walked over and grabbed his ear, "I’m speaking to you, did you hear me? Such a lack of manners, truly the way that orphan mother of yours raised you, no proper upbringing at all."

"It hurts, Aunt Xiao Jin, Xiao Ran is in pain," Xiao Ran cried out, standing on tiptoe, his voice full of panic and helplessness.

"Oh, so now you can talk? Why didn’t you talk earlier? Let me tell you, from now on when I call you, you must answer. Who else can be your mother now? If you’re impolite, people will say I haven’t taught you well. Did you hear that?" Song Jin didn’t let go, speaking arrogantly.

Despite the pain, Xiao Ran stood by his principles and shouted, frowning, "You’re not my mom, my mom is not like you."

"You dare to talk back?" Song Jin was furious, dragging Xiao Ran away from the dining table by his ear. Xiao Ran stumbled and fell hard to the ground.

Having cultivated all night, Ye Qiu had just come in to see such a scene. She became so enraged that her Ghost Energy dissipated, disregarding the Water Ghost’s warning, feeling a string in her mind snap and charged at Song Jin recklessly.

"Bitch, bitch!" Ye Qiu howled, her face twisted menacingly as she lunged at Song Jin. The spacious villa hall seemed to darken suddenly, curtains and tablecloths fluttering strangely.

"What’s going on?" Song Jin looked around suspiciously, subconsciously clutching the Amulet at her chest.

At this moment, Xiao Ran’s eyes widened at the apparition in midair, exclaiming with joy, "Mom!"

Stunned, Song Jin looked at Xiao Ran, and following his gaze, she saw nothing. Her pupils contracted sharply, she unconsciously swallowed, then yelled at Xiao Ran, "Stop shouting nonsense, where is your mom here? Keep it up, and I’ll send you to a mental hospital."

After she uttered these words, Ye Qiu’s fury intensified, her Ghost Energy already looming over Song Jin.

"Ah!" Just as Ye Qiu was about to grab Song Jin’s neck, the Amulet on Song Jin’s chest suddenly flashed a golden light. Ye Qiu’s Ghost Energy was instantly eroded substantially, almost dispersing into the air.

Song Jin also felt her Amulet suddenly become hot. When she took it out to look, one edge of the Amulet had been burnt off.

At this sight, she gasped sharply, then looked around even more alertly, threatening, "Ye Qiu, is that you? Have you come back for revenge? Ha, you didn’t have this power while alive, do you think you’ve got it now you’re dead? Don’t you want your son to live? The custody of your precious son is in my hands now!"

Song Jin actually didn’t see anything. She was merely guessing that Ye Qiu was the cause of everything that had just occurred based on Xiao Ran’s words. She was sure she guessed right and became even more wildly arrogant, "You think you can do anything to me as a Ghost? Ridiculous, a mere talisman keeps you away from me. What do you think those Monks and Taoists will do when they find out you’ve become a Fierce Ghost? Haha, I’ll make sure your soul is scattered to the winds."

"Mommy, Mommy..." Xiao Ran, being held by Song Jin, started to struggle with all his might when he saw Ye Qiu disappear.

"Where do you think your mom comes from? She’s just a lonely lost ghost," Song Jin sneered, refusing to let go of Xiao Ran.

Lying weakly on the ground, Ye Qiu could barely maintain the Ghost Energy surrounding her. She was still too weak. Hatred consumed her as she wondered why she ever trusted that vile woman and that scumbag man.

"Since you’re here, I’ll let you see how I treat your precious son," Song Jin said with a malevolent smile before brutally pinching Xiao Ran’s soft flesh with her long nails.

"Ah! It hurts, it really hurts, Aunt Xiao Jin stop pinching, Mom save me! Mom..." Xiao Ran struggled incessantly, his face smudged with tears in an instant.

"Keep screaming, scream louder, call your dead ghost mom out again, I’ll make sure she’s scattered to the winds," Song Jin raved, her actions more vicious.

"You deserve to die, you deserve to die!" Ye Qiu’s eyes were blood-red, teardrops of blood streaming from them.

"You’re crazy, the effect of the talisman on her hasn’t dissipated yet." Just as Ye Qiu was about to rush forward with her weakened Ghost Energy, the Water Ghost came in time to stop her.

"Roar..." Ye Qiu, having lost her reason, lashed out at the Water Ghost trying to block her, but, being too weak, she was restrained and couldn’t move a step forward.

"Xiao Ran, my Xiao Ran..." Ye Qiu muttered to herself, her Ghost Energy starting to disperse with the extreme agitation of being unable to save her own child.

"This is bad," the Water Ghost muttered under his breath, and then extended his hand to gather Ye Qiu’s dispersing Ghost Energy and enclosed it inside a piece of Yang Yin Wood.

Due to his interference and Ye Qiu’s frenzy, a tempest erupted suddenly in the villa’s hall. Song Jin was blinded by the gust, finally showing a trace of fear.

"Ye Qiu, you can’t win against me, I’m not scared of you," Song Jin said, mustering courage and tightly holding onto the Amulet at her chest.

The Water Ghost, unable to bear the sight of the crying Xiao Ran, used his Ghost Energy to overturn all the tables and coffee tables in the hall, with the expensive crystal chandelier dropping from the ceiling.

"Ah!" Song Jin shrieked, eventually letting go of Xiao Ran.

"Mom!" Xiao Ran scrambled up from the ground, looking around in confusion.

"Leave this place, Xiao Ran," the Water Ghost whispered to him.

"Who are you?" Xiao Ran asked, eyes wide.

"I’m a friend of your mom."

"Where’s Mom?" Xiao Ran asked hopefully.

"Your mom is sick, she needs to rest for a while. She’ll be back after some time. Leave this house; your Aunt Xiao Jin is not a good person. She will threaten your mom with you."

Upon hearing this, Xiao Ran’s expression turned solemn, and he clenched his little fists tightly: "I understand, Uncle. Tell my mom, I’m going to find Uncle Ling Xiao."
