Each individual droplet of water could be clearly seen trembling slightly in the air. Natsu and his companions were completely taken aback by this sight.
"Since you can’t fly, then... prepare to fall!"
BOOM!!
The instant the figure’s words left its lips, the water droplets, previously suspended in mid-air, plummeted downwards at an incredible speed.
An immense gravitational force descended upon Natsu and his group. The earth buckled under the immense pressure, sinking steadily, while Natsu and his companions were crushed to the ground, their pained groans echoing through the air.
"I... I can’t move... it’s gravity..." Happy gritted his teeth, managing to force out the words with immense effort.
BOOM BOOM BOOM!
The ground fractured and crumbled, the earth sinking a full five to six meters around Natsu and his companions.
"Aaaaaah!" Shrieks of agony erupted from the group as they struggled against the overwhelming gravitational force.
Observing the figures prostrate before him, Brandish spoke slowly, his voice devoid of any emotion.
"As for me, I’m not interested in Fairy Tail or Zeref," he stated calmly.
"However, there are two things I’m after."
He clasped his hands behind his back, his gaze cold and distant, his eyes devoid of any human warmth as he surveyed the group before him.
"Tell me where the Fairy Glitter magic is located, and where that brat Finn, the one who managed to injure Master Hades, is hiding," Brandish demanded, his tone unwavering.
"Those are my only objectives," he added, his voice devoid of any inflection.
"Damn you! What are you trying to do?!" Gray managed to lift his head, his voice strained with effort as he glared at the figure before him.
Brandish frowned slightly, his expression unchanged.
"Didn’t I already explain? Fairy Glitter, supposedly one of your guild’s three greatest magics, ranked alongside Fairy Law!" Brandish explained, his tone devoid of any emotion.
"It’s a magic that leaves no survivors, a merciless light that brooks no opposition," he continued, his voice unwavering.
"Never heard of it," Natsu muttered, slowly pushing himself up from the ground.
However, the very next moment, a dark purple magic circle opened up directly above Natsu’s head. The gravitational force intensified, pinning Natsu back to the ground, rendering him completely immobile.
"I want that magic, and that supposed flying Finn. I’d really like to have a go at fighting him," Brandish stated, his voice calm and emotionless.

A surge of powerful magical energy emanating from the distance caused Finn, Nancy, and Ultear to immediately turn their attention towards its source.
"What is that?" Nancy’s face was etched with worry.
"Is there someone else in Grimoire Heart this powerful? That feeling... it’s almost comparable to Gildarts in his prime!" Finn murmured, his gaze fixed on the direction from which the magical energy was emanating.
Of course, he was referring to Gildarts’ strength from two years prior, before his severe injuries.
Finn hadn’t had the opportunity to engage Gildarts in battle since then and, consequently, had no way of accurately gauging his current full potential.
Nevertheless, it was undeniable that Gildarts’ power was easily capable of rivaling the six lower-ranked members of the Ten Wizard Saints. In his prime, he might even have been able to hold his own against the Four Kings of Ishgar.
Such formidable mages were exceptionally rare, which explained Finn’s surprise at the sudden appearance of such a powerful magical presence.
Ultear, having regained her composure with the help of Finn and Nancy, frowned deeply, her brow furrowed in concern.
"That feeling... it’s Brandish!" she stated, her voice laced with a sense of foreboding.
"Brandish?" Finn murmured, his voice a low whisper.
"The one who single-handedly annihilated the Azure Dragon Corps, led by High General Gola, during the Galuna Island War?" he asked, seeking confirmation.
Ultear nodded solemnly. "After that battle, she was absorbed into Grimoire Heart by Hades."
"She became Grimoire Heart’s vice-commander, an extremely dangerous individual," Ultear added, her voice filled with a sense of urgency.
"Regardless of who it is, it seems someone’s engaged in battle with them. We need to hurry and provide support. No one else on this island stands a chance against someone of that caliber," Finn stated, his voice firm and resolute.
Ultear gazed towards the distant source of the magical energy. "That direction is quite far away!" she exclaimed, her voice laced with apprehension.
"We need to hurry! There’s no other option," Finn stated, his voice filled with a sense of urgency and concern.
The group nodded in agreement, setting off at full speed towards the source of the powerful magical energy.
Twelve years prior.
Cana’s mother passed away. From her mother’s final words, young Cana learned that she had a father.
Driven by this revelation, Cana embarked on a quest to find her father. Her journey eventually led her to the gates of Fairy Tail.
At that time, Cana, accompanied by a small dog that was her only companion, stood gazing intently at the tall figure emerging from the guild’s entrance.
Gildarts! Cana’s father.
In that moment, a smile spread across Cana’s face, as she yearned to call out to him, to finally address him as "Dad."
However, Gildarts remained completely unaware of her presence. Pressed for time, he simply exchanged a brief greeting with Cana before departing for his mission.
Watching his departing figure, Cana missed her fleeting opportunity to reveal her true identity.
In the years that followed, Cana became a frequent visitor to the Fairy Tail guild, hoping to catch another glimpse of her father.
Unknowingly, she eventually joined the guild, becoming an integral part of the Fairy Tail family. During her time there, she learned about Gildarts’ legendary exploits and accomplishments.
As the strongest mage in Fairy Tail, Gildarts was universally adored and respected by all the guild members.
However, this adoration only served to amplify the weight of the unspoken words that lingered in Cana’s heart—the words "Dad" that she longed to utter but had never found the courage to say.
Gildarts’ overwhelming presence made her feel small and insignificant, like a mere speck of dust in comparison to his brilliance.
Cana began to harbor feelings of fear and self-doubt, afraid to reveal the truth about her identity.
She feared the reaction of others upon learning that the strongest mage in Fairy Tail had a daughter who was so incredibly weak and insignificant.
Later, Gildarts brought back a young boy, a prodigious talent named Finn. As Finn’s mentor and guide in the world of magic, Gildarts took immense pride in his achievements. Shortly after joining the guild, Finn had successfully passed the S-class mage examination.
Cana could only watch from afar, her heart filled with a mixture of admiration and envy. She watched Gildarts place a hand on Finn’s shoulder with a beaming smile of pride etched across his face.
In that moment, Cana’s desire to become an S-class mage intensified. She resolved to achieve that status so that she could finally reveal her true identity to Gildarts. She believed that only then would she feel worthy of being recognized as his daughter.
However, four consecutive years of failure in the S-class mage examination left Cana’s confidence shattered.
"I’m a complete failure, a substandard mage. I’m not worthy of being called his daughter..."
This self-deprecating thought relentlessly echoed in Cana’s mind.
As a result, she decided to take one final attempt at the S-class mage examination, viewing it as her last chance to prove her worth. If she failed, she would accept that she was unworthy of being Gildarts’ daughter and would leave the guild.
While intoxicated, Cana confided her deepest fears and insecurities to Lucy. Unable to bear the thought of her friend abandoning the guild, Lucy bravely volunteered to become Cana’s partner for the upcoming examination.
However, during the examination, they unexpectedly encountered a group of formidable enemies, causing Cana’s heart to sink with dread.
Ultimately, Cana chose to separate from Lucy, and according to Lucy’s later analysis, Cana sought out Mavis’ grave.
"The tombstone... it’s glowing?" Cana whispered, her eyes widening in surprise as she approached the tombstone, which was emanating a soft, golden light.
Cana hesitantly reached out and touched the glowing surface.
A searing pain shot through her hand, causing her to recoil instinctively. Then, words appeared on the glowing surface.
"Fairy Glitter, one of Fairy Tail’s three great magics, is sealed here!" Cana read the inscription aloud, her voice filled with a mixture of awe and disbelief.
Cana gritted her teeth, her voice strained with emotion. "I don’t need some magic! What about this exam? I finally made it this far... I thought I could finally become an S-class mage..."
Her voice trailed off, her words filled with a sense of profound disappointment and exhaustion.
Defeated and dejected, Cana sank to her knees, her body wracked with a mixture of despair and self-doubt.
