Swoosh.
Li Xuan, who was flying in the starry sky, suddenly heard a sound and turned to look.
"There's actually a spaceship!" Li Xuan was pleasantly surprised. Since there was a spaceship, it meant there must be a world continent nearby.
In the blink of an eye, the spaceship arrived in front of Li Xuan and the other two. It had looked small at first, but when it stopped in front of Li Xuan, they realized it was dozens of meters long and over ten meters high.
"Who are you people? What are you doing out here? Traveling in the starry sky without a flying device can easily lead to getting lost," a figure poked out and asked as soon as the ship stopped.
"To be honest, our flying device crashed. That's why we are wandering in the starry sky. May we borrow your esteemed vessel for a moment? Please drop us off when we reach a populated area," Li Xuan said, cupping his fists.
"Crashed? Could it be you encountered a star storm? Come up, I'll give you a ride," the man on the ship frowned slightly but still let Li Xuan and the two others board.
"Daddy, when did we get a flying device?" Li Li whispered curiously to Li Xuan.
"Shhh. Don't we have nowhere to go right now? Since someone is taking us, we can consider it a free ride. Understand?" Li Xuan whispered back, then pulled the two towards the ship.
"Thank you, fellow Daoist," Li Xuan said, cupping his fists as soon as he landed.
The man before them appeared to be in his early thirties and looked like a gentleman.
"It's nothing, the cabin is quite empty anyway. And these two are..." the man replied with a bow, then looked at Li Li and Li Jin.
"These are my children," Li Xuan said.
"I can't believe you have two grown children at your age. Alright, follow me, I'll show you to your rooms," the man said, slightly surprised, before turning and walking into the cabin.
Along the way, Li Xuan chatted with the man.
The man's name was Dong Cheng, and he was on his way back to his family.
"We've arrived. You can stay here for now. Li Xuan, there are a few things I need to tell you clearly. Try not to make any disturbances on the ship, and avoid talking to others as much as possible. Everyone on board has a peculiar temperament. I hope you can understand," Dong Cheng said, opening a cabin door and looking at Li Xuan.
"Don't worry, Brother Dong, I will," Li Xuan nodded repeatedly.
From their earlier conversation, Li Xuan learned that there were other people on the ship, reportedly powerful individuals invited by Dong Cheng. However, Li Xuan was not clear about Dong Cheng's purpose.
"Then I won't disturb your rest," Dong Cheng said, smiling at Li Jin and Li Li before turning to leave.
"Daddy, that uncle just now was a bit strange," Li Li said as soon as Li Xuan closed the door after Dong Cheng left.
"Strange? A'li, how was he strange?" Li Xuan asked, squatting down to look at Li Li.
"Daddy, it felt like there was something inside that uncle, but he seemed to be suppressing it. And he kept frowning, maybe he was in pain. Even so, he could still smile, so I think this uncle is very strange," Li Li said.
"A'jin, did you sense anything?" Li Xuan asked Li Jin.
Seeing him nod, Li Xuan also felt a sense of strangeness.
"Alright, rest well. We'll disembark when we reach a populated area. Daddy will take you to see the world to your heart's content," Li Xuan thought. It didn't concern him, and Dong Cheng had been evasive when he tried to inquire.
Since Dong Cheng didn't want to talk about it, there was no need for him to get involved. As long as they reached a populated area, he would take the two children off the ship.
"Okay, okay. Daddy, you have to keep your promise," Li Li and Li Jin exclaimed happily.
"Shhh... Did you forget what that uncle just said? Alright, go rest," Li Xuan said, then sat down and closed his eyes to rest.
On the other side of the ship's cabin.
Dong Cheng was kneeling on the ground, writhing in pain. Two maids beside him watched him nervously.
"Go... go find... find Fairy Feiyan!" Dong Cheng gritted his teeth, his veins bulging as if they would burst.
"Yes, slave will go at once," the two maids said, hurrying out.
Soon, hurried footsteps could be heard, and a woman in a green robe gracefully entered.
"I didn't expect it to act up again!" the woman said with a slight frown, looking at Dong Cheng, who was rolling on the floor, and pondered.
"Fairy Feiyan, please help my young master," the two maids said, kneeling down as the Fairy Feiyan had only spoken a sentence and hadn't done anything else upon entering.
"Don't worry, I'll do my best. You two can go out now," Fairy Feiyan said, nodding her head after regaining her composure.
"Yes," the two maids said, quickly leaving and closing the door behind them.
"Alas. Dong Cheng, it's not that I don't want to help you, but I am powerless. I can only temporarily seal it. Whether you can last until you reach home depends on your fate."
After speaking, Fairy Feiyan waved her hand and placed Dong Cheng onto the bed. She then began to form seals with her hands. Numerous formations were etched and then all entered Dong Cheng's body.
Buzz.
As the last formation entered Dong Cheng's body, Fairy Feiyan slowly exhaled. Fine beads of sweat appeared on her forehead.
"Cough... Fairy Feiyan, thank you," Dong Cheng opened his eyes and thanked her profusely as soon as he saw her.
"I remember I sealed it for you before you left. As long as you don't use spiritual energy, it shouldn't recur. Why did it suddenly flare up?" Fairy Feiyan asked, nodding.
"It's like this. I just discovered someone in the starry sky, accompanied by two children. Out of curiosity, I used my spiritual energy to investigate, but I couldn't see anything. That's when it flared up."
"I didn't expect this thing to be so powerful. Even your seal couldn't completely suppress it," Dong Cheng said with a wry smile.
"You, you're still the same. You bring people onto the ship without first inquiring about their background. For your illness, I think you'll have to return to your family and have them find a way to seal it. I can't help you further. Alright, get some rest. Call me if anything comes up."
Fairy Feiyan stood up and walked out.
"Alas. How much longer can I live..." A hint of melancholy flashed across Dong Cheng's face as he gazed out the window, lost in thought.
