Chapter 422 A Boring Illusion

Su Han looked at the two largest rooms. Both were tightly shut.

He observed them, then chose to enter the room on the left first.

Pushing the door open, Su Han saw a formation protecting a black jade stone. He couldn't discern anything about the jade. He didn't know what it was.

"Hmm, the formation at the Taiyi Golden Immortal level earlier wasn't too powerful, which is why I could open it. This current formation is a level higher than that. Is this a formation at the Daluo Golden Immortal level? If so, even if it’s playing nice, I won't be able to break it."

Su Han studied the formation for a long time but couldn't find its outer layer, let alone how to crack it.

He decided to check the other room.

Su Han exited the room and walked towards the one on the right.

Arriving at the door, he raised his hand to push it open and enter.

The moment his hand touched the door, the surrounding environment changed drastically. Su Han suddenly found himself atop a high mountain peak, surrounded by vast mountain ranges.

He also sensed that his ability to fly was sealed.

"What's going on? Was I teleported elsewhere? But I can't sense any spatial fluctuations. So it's not spatial transfer. Ah, this must be an illusion. This formation is an illusionary one. I'll try to break it using ordinary methods first!"

Su Han gave up his mental defenses and bit his tongue. A sharp pain shot through his tongue.

He felt the pain, but the surrounding environment remained unchanged.

Su Han said, "The surroundings haven't changed. It makes sense; at this level, this method would be useless."

He continued to try other methods. He used his spiritual energy to create internal vibrations. Despite the spiritual energy shock, the illusion remained unbroken.

"It seems I can't break this illusion with my current strength. Do I have to wait until the spiritual energy of this illusionary formation is depleted for the illusion to disappear?"

Just then, a large Roc flew in the distant sky.

"A bird? Does this formation want me to kill this bird?"

The Roc flew directly towards him and unleashed a magic projectile attack from a distance.

Su Han easily dodged the projectile.

He also launched an attack at the Roc.

The Roc directly evaded Su Han's attack.

In the course of this brief exchange, the Roc flew right up to Su Han, its claw slashing out towards him. Su Han tried to summon his magical artifact to block, but he couldn't retrieve it.

Su Han could only quickly evade the attack, but he was slightly too slow. A gash was torn on his body by the Roc's claws.

Su Han exclaimed, "This illusion has even forbidden my magical artifacts! Am I supposed to fight this giant bird with just my physical body? This bird seems to be at the Golden Immortal level."

Now, Su Han could only use all his skills to fight the Roc.

The Roc was indeed very powerful. However, its movements didn't quite match the level of a Golden Immortal. It was precisely because of this that Su Han could put up a fight.

After an hour of combat, Su Han finally killed the giant bird.

Upon killing it, Su Han only felt a slight improvement in his physical combat skills.

But before he could rest, another massive demonic beast appeared in the distance. This beast was even more powerful than the bird.

Su Han spent several more hours killing this beast.

After defeating that one, another beast appeared.

And so it went, one beast appearing after another. He annihilated twelve beasts in total before it finally stopped.

"It's finally over?"

Su Han's strength was completely depleted. He couldn't even stand and lay sprawled on the ground.

"So tiring. These demonic beasts were endless. What's the point of this illusionary formation making me fight them!"

As for the purpose, Su Han only felt that his combat proficiency had indeed improved.

"Did I only improve in this area? But why hasn't this formation disappeared yet!"

Suddenly, the surrounding mountains began to change.

"It's changing. Is this formation about to disappear?"

Su Han slowly sat up.

But as he sat up, Su Han saw that the surroundings hadn't vanished. Instead, they had transformed into a town.

And Su Han was now sitting within this town.

"A town? An ancient town? Does this illusion want me to experience the ups and downs of life? Alas, this illusion, please spare me!"

Su Han looked at his clothes. They had become tattered beggar's attire, and a bowl had appeared before him.

"It seems I'm a beggar in this experience. But is this illusion real? If it's real, I can finish it easily."

Su Han then stood up, feeling an extreme hunger pang.

He didn't choose to be a professional beggar. Instead, he went to a river. Su Han found a clean stretch of the river, washed himself thoroughly, tidied himself up, and then found some clothes drying outdoors. Su Han transformed and began to move through the town.

Using his modern knowledge, Su Han invented various novelties in this town and sold them. In just seven days, Su Han became the owner of a small shop. Within a month, he had become a wealthy merchant in the town. After all, this illusionary town was ancient, so Su Han could quickly improve his life here.

While he integrated himself here, Su Han also ventured out of this town to other places. There were other towns elsewhere. The scope of this illusionary realm covered over two hundred thousand square kilometers.

If he went beyond this area, it was pitch black. No matter how Su Han walked or tried to break through, he couldn't escape the darkness.

And the illusion finally disappeared after Su Han became a wealthy merchant.

Su Han looked around. He was still standing by the door, and the scenery within the room was now visible.

With the illusion gone, Su Han's perception of real time returned.

"So, only three minutes have passed. The perception of this illusion is truly long. What a boring illusion."

Then, Su Han entered the room.
