Chapter 129 Resealing with Blood

If, as Senior Brother explained, there was an ancient evil formation here, then with her meager abilities, she wouldn't be able to discover anything no matter what she did.

The addition of the words "ancient" made it something that not just anyone could interact with.

"The world is vast and full of wonders," Chu Lingwei couldn't help but sigh. "Little Junior Sister, you'll encounter many more things you've never seen before in the future." Leng Xingzhi reached out and gently patted Chu Lingwei's head. "From now on, don't go to such dangerous places alone."

Chu Lingwei rubbed her head, wondering why Senior Brother seemed to enjoy hitting her more and more.

"Senior Brother, how did you know I was in the swamp?" Chu Lingwei's eyes flickered as she tilted her head to look at Leng Xingzhi. Ever since entering the swamp, she had concealed her aura. She was confident that even a cultivator in the Hua Tian Realm wouldn't be able to easily detect her presence.

Yet, not only had Senior Brother found her, but he had appeared before she even realized it.

"You are my Junior Sister, how could I not find you?" Leng Xingzhi replied with a smile. He stood up and looked at the five cultivators of the Rong Tian Realm, one of the Hua Tian Realm, and one of the Tong Tian Realm who were approaching them. "People from Wangtian City are here."

Chu Lingwei quickly stood up and saw five figures flying rapidly towards them in the distance, flashing past like lightning.

"They didn't discover us?" Chu Lingwei looked at Senior Brother. His concealment artifact was indeed effective; even a Tong Tian Realm expert hadn't found them.

"Let's go. If they discover us, we definitely won't be able to leave." Leng Xingzhi increased the speed of their flying artifact and quietly entered Wangtian City.

Returning to the inn, their Master was sitting by the window.

"Weiwei, you're back?"

"Master."

Chu Lingwei hurried to Bei Chenfeng's side and bowed.

"Where have you two been?" Bei Chenfeng smiled at Chu Lingwei, knowing that she was never a docile young lady.

Chu Lingwei tilted her head, glanced at Senior Brother, and replied to Bei Chenfeng, "Master, Senior Brother and I went to the swamp."

"Did you find anything?" Bei Chenfeng gestured for them to sit opposite him.

"No, just an endless swarm of swamp snakes, so many of them, it was very uncomfortable." Chu Lingwei shook her head. Thinking of the ancient formation Senior Brother had mentioned, she asked, "Master, do you think that formation really exists?"

An ancient evil formation, the thought alone sent shivers down her spine.

"Naturally, it's real." Bei Chenfeng was surprised that such an ancient evil formation had appeared in Wangtian City, and his expression turned grim.

The Xuan Tian Continent had finally enjoyed peace for a thousand years, but it seemed it was about to be disturbed again.

"How terrifying," Chu Lingwei couldn't help but shake her head. To think such a formation could be created, it was truly perverted.

"These swamp snakes, although they are indistinguishable from real snakes, are still fake. They won't become real," Bei Chenfeng said, shaking his head. These creatures, though appearing to be swamp snakes, were merely tools of someone.

Hearing her Master's words, Chu Lingwei's body trembled. "Fake is fake," he had said.

"Bang."

"Boom."

Just then, the sound of spiritual energy colliding with spiritual energy echoed from afar, loud enough to resonate throughout Wangtian City.

Chu Lingwei stood up and looked in the direction of the sound. It was the swamp area they had just returned from.

"Master, can they seal this ancient evil formation again?"

Five cultivators of the Tian Tian Realm had gone at once. She wondered about their capabilities.

"That depends on whether they have the ability," Bei Chenfeng shook his head. An ancient formation was not something that anyone could easily seal.

Otherwise, it wouldn't be called an ancient evil formation.

Chu Lingwei subconsciously looked at Senior Brother. Seeing his indifferent expression, she could only wait for the outcome.

An hour later, the sounds of spiritual energy clashes from the swamp ceased, and the air was filled with a strong, fishy odor.

Bei Chenfeng stood up and sighed, "What a pity."

"Senior Brother, what does Master mean by 'what a pity'?" Chu Lingwei watched her Master leave, his face tinged with a hint of helplessness.

"Re-sealing the ancient formation requires blood," Leng Xingzhi said calmly.

Chu Lingwei suddenly recalled the five cultivators of the Tian Tian Realm they had encountered on their way back. "Senior Brother means, those five cultivators are probably not coming back?"

Leng Xingzhi remained silent.

Silence was the best answer.

Chu Lingwei looked towards the swamp. At this moment, she suddenly understood that the path of spiritual cultivation was not just about everyone pursuing their own benefit. There was also righteousness and sacrifice.

They didn't know the reasons why those five cultivators used their own blood to reseal the ancient evil formation. But if they hadn't been willing, they would have found a way to escape.

...

"This is great, all those swamp snakes are gone."

An Tao grabbed Chu Lingwei's hand and quickly walked towards the outskirts of Wangtian City.

"Gone?" Chu Lingwei couldn't help but quicken her pace. She also wanted to see how the swamp snakes had disappeared.

An Tao thought for a moment and then shook her head. "It's not exactly gone, they've just become very weak. If you hit their seven-inch point, they'll turn into swamp water."

Chu Lingwei and An Tao hurried out of the city. Within a hundred-mile radius outside Wangtian City, there were no traces of swamp snakes, only a faint, lingering smell of fish.

The two of them took their flying artifacts to a hundred miles away. Many cultivators here had accepted missions from the city to kill these swamp snakes.

"Let's hurry and kill them too, or we won't earn many points."

An Tao took out her artifact and rushed down, slashing at the nearest swamp snake.

Chu Lingwei followed closely behind, her Ice Jade Frost Sword accurately piercing their seven-inch point. She watched as the swamp snakes turned into swamp water and slowly seeped into the ground.

It was truly miraculous.

Because there were too many swamp snakes, the two of them moved towards the swamp as they killed.

"An Tao, do you know how the people of Wangtian City resolved this matter?" Chu Lingwei asked.

"I don't know," An Tao shook her head. She had asked everyone she knew, and no one knew how Wangtian City had handled the incident. "However, I heard that in the future, there won't be any swamp snakes in the swamp."

"At least not for a short time," An Tao added. After all, if there were no swamp snakes in the swamp, it would be quite strange.

Chu Lingwei nodded. It seemed no one knew about the ancient evil formation beneath the swamp, nor did anyone know that five cultivators of the Tian Tian Realm had sacrificed themselves to seal it.

As An Tao had said, by the time the cultivators fought their way into the swamp, there wasn't a single real swamp snake left.

The entire swamp had returned to its former state.

As soon as Chu Lingwei returned to the inn, she saw Lei Tao send her a transmission talisman.
