"Vivienne, should we not bother with them?"
Illusion Cat sensed that those demonic cultivators had very high cultivation levels, and he already regretted not keeping Vivienne from bringing him out earlier.
"Mm, if they want to follow, let them."
Chu Lingwei wasn't unused to being followed. Facing a few demonic cultivators head-on, she still had a decent chance of winning.
"Miss Chu, you're back." The innkeeper immediately greeted her upon seeing Chu Lingwei return.
"There are a few tails following outside." Chu Lingwei nodded and informed the innkeeper about the people trailing her.
"Miss Chu, rest assured, they wouldn't dare enter the inn."
The innkeeper paid it no mind. He saw such things every day; a few watchful eyes could be eliminated.
Returning to her room, Chu Lingwei didn't message her senior brother. He had left for business, and she didn't want to disturb him.
"Vivienne, I've discovered the Demonic Realm is far more dangerous than our Profound Sky Continent." Illusion Cat frowned, his interest in the Demonic Realm long gone. "I kept feeling like someone was watching us in the marketplace just now, it was terrifying."
"This is the Demonic Realm; there are many terrifying things here." Chu Lingwei sat at the table, poured herself a cup of spiritual tea, and drank it slowly. With a wave of her right hand, a mirror appeared before her, clearly reflecting her own face. "Tell me, does this face of mine truly resemble Yan Qiong?"
Illusion Cat hopped to Chu Lingwei's side, staring at the unfamiliar face in the mirror, and shook his head vigorously. "Not at all, you are not sisters at all."
"Then why is she so certain that I am her biological sister?" Chu Lingwei tilted her head. She didn't know about the genetics of these Demonic Realm people, but biological sisters should share some resemblance, shouldn't they?
"Vivienne, do you think she might have known all along that you weren't her biological sister?" Illusion Cat followed Chu Lingwei's line of thought, then immediately shook his head. "I don't think so. When Yan Qiong first saw you, her expression was very genuine; I can tell that much."
"So, I really look very much like her biological sister?" Chu Lingwei still found it hard to believe.
"I don't know, but I have a feeling they're not good people. We should keep our distance from them in the future."
Illusion Cat curled his small body into a ball. He was already beginning to dislike this Demonic Realm. "Vivienne, why don't we leave immediately after senior brother returns?"
Chu Lingwei didn't reply. She had finally come to the Demonic Realm, and she should at least stay for a while.
"Senior brother's family runs an inn here, so he must know how to leave. We'll leave when he returns," Illusion Cat thought he had a brilliant idea and mumbled to himself.
"I'm not going back. I haven't had a good look at this Demonic Realm yet. It would be too much of a waste to leave now." Chu Lingwei shook her head. She had no intention of returning.
"Vivienne, I am a divine beast. I sense that this place is exceptionally dangerous." Illusion Cat grew nervous, wondering why Vivienne didn't believe him.
"Kitty, even if we return now, it doesn't guarantee our safety on the Profound Sky Continent. Danger exists everywhere."
Chu Lingwei looked at her reflection in the mirror again. She desperately wanted to know if the face her senior brother had conjured for her was an unconscious act or a deliberate decision.
For now, all she could do was wait for senior brother to return.
Unfortunately, before Chu Lingwei could wait for her senior brother, she was met by the patriarch of the Yan family.
He was a Demon Lord.
"Xiang'er, come home with your father."
Yan Baili looked at his younger daughter before him, his eyes devoid of any warmth, only anger.
"I am not your daughter and will not go back with you." Chu Lingwei didn't know how many times she had to repeat herself.
Yan Baili was much more direct than Yan Qiong. A seven-colored divine flower appeared in his hand, radiating demonic energy.
Chu Lingwei immediately felt a force pulling her, making her want to approach the divine flower.
What was happening?
Chu Lingwei turned to look at the innkeeper, only to see him lowering his head, avoiding her gaze.
The innkeeper obeyed Leng Xingzhi, and his current avoidance was likely Leng Xingzhi's instruction.
Why would senior brother do this?
"Xiang'er, you should know your identity now." Yan Baili saw the surprise in Chu Lingwei's eyes and retracted the seven-colored divine flower. "The Divine Flower is our Yan family's Divine Flower. Only descendants of our Yan family can connect with it."
"I am not your daughter; you've mistaken me."
To mistake their own daughter, Chu Lingwei was truly speechless. She had no intention of acknowledging a father for herself.
"Xiang'er, it's fine if you can't remember past events." Yan Baili shook his head. "Don't worry, as long as you come back with me, Father will make sure you recall everything."
Chu Lingwei looked at Yan Baili as if he were an idiot. "Are you really sure I am your daughter?"
"Yes, how could I mistake my own daughter? You are my daughter, Yan Xiang." Yan Baili's attitude softened, and the demonic energy around him became gentle, wafting towards Chu Lingwei.
Chu Lingwei felt this demonic energy was warm, enveloping her.
"Xiang'er, we are father and daughter. Only then will my demonic energy not harm you," Yan Baili sighed softly. "It was my mistake that you suffered such misfortune. Father promises that such a thing will never happen again."
"I'm not going back."
Chu Lingwei snorted lightly, her eyes filled with sarcasm. "As you said, I suffered injuries and can't recall past events, but you should be able to remember, right? Why did I get injured?"
"Xiang'er, don't be foolish." Anger welled up in Yan Baili's eyes.
"It seems you know, but you just don't want to pursue it." Chu Lingwei sneered. "You can disregard the life and death of your own daughter. Why should I return to such a home? I'm not that foolish to die again."
"Yan Xiang, you dare to defy me?"
Yan Baili was enveloped in demonic energy. This daughter of his was truly outrageous. If he took her back, he would definitely make her understand the consequences of defiance.
"Yes, what can you do to me? Kill me directly?"
Chu Lingwei's spiritual sword was in her hand. "If you want to fight, then fight. Let's see who dies here first."
"Master, allow me."
Shui Yi stepped before Chu Lingwei. She didn't care about a mere Demon Lord.
"Alright, then teach him a lesson and make sure he doesn't casually claim daughters." Chu Lingwei took a step back. Returning to such a family would only lead to death.
The demonic energy in Shui Yi's eyes turned red, and the demonic aura around her caused the space to freeze into ice.
Yan Baili was shocked. What realm was this? So powerful.
