Chapter 66: Ruan Chanchan: Lets Cook Egg
"We will cook the eggs that you brought along with the meat last night." Ruan Chanchan glanced at the meat that she had cured with salt and sighed. Maybe she should smoke this meat. With Ruan Zeqiu sick, this meat wouldn’t last long even if she had cured it. It was better to smoke it. That way, it would last longer in this hot weather.
Her gaze then turned to look at the eggs that Ruan Zeqiu had brought with him the last time he went hunting. Even though there were only two of them, they were so big that they could make up for more than twenty eggs.
Ruan Chanchan didn’t want to show off all her skills, but she decided to just stop worrying. If she continued worrying about this and that, then it would mean that she would have to compromise with her living standards and with the era she was living in— Ruan Chanchan absolutely refused to do it. It was bad enough that she was living without an air conditioner.
She also had to eat raw meat and eggs? She would pass.
"Cook? What do you mean by "cook"?" Ruan Zeqiu had never heard such a word before. He raised his head and looked at his sister with confusion in his eyes. He was certain that Ruan Chanchan was not speaking nonsense anymore because there was a hint of wisdom in her eyes, something that wasn’t there in the past.
"You will know soon; just stay put and stop running for me." Ruan Chanchan then got to her feet and looked at the meat that Ruan Zeqiu brought with him. Because it was collected from the back of the beast, there was still a lot of fat sticking out. Though it looked a bit hideous, as it was different from the clumps of yellow fat in mutton or beef. It still had the yellow tint but was a bit more gooey and looked a bit sticky, which made Ruan Chanchan scrunch up her brows.
Will it even taste good? Ruan Chanchan thought as she looked at the sticky fat.
However, currently, she had no way to get her hands on the cooking oil that was on the second floor of her supermarket. There were still a lot of points that she needed to get to reach that level. Since that was the case, she could only use the fat from the beast’s meat. Ruan Chanchan sighed and then took out the knife that she had kept on the first floor of the supermarket and started cutting the fat on the hind leg of the beast.
Ruan Zeqiu peered at his sister, but he couldn’t see anything other than the fat that Ruan Chanchan had removed from the hind leg. He sighed, thinking that his sister was removing the fat because she didn’t like to eat it. However, after a short pause, he wondered how she was even doing it.
Because, as far as he knew, Ruan Chanchan couldn’t awaken her beast form. So, how was she removing the fat from the meat so easily? Though Ruan Zeqiu had a lot of questions, he had no way to get answers for them because Ruan Chanchan had clearly asked him to stay put, and he didn’t dare to go against her.
Ruan Chanchan had no idea about the thoughts that Ruan Zeqiu was having at that moment. She was so engrossed in taking care of the fat that she didn’t even pay attention to the mer who was eyeing her carefully. Once she had cut off enough fat that Ruan Chanchan thought would be enough for the two of them for the next few weeks. She turned around and said to Ruan Zeqiu, "I will go and collect some dry wood. You stay in the cave and don’t go anywhere; I know how to return, so I will be back in just a few minutes."
Ruan Zeqiu wanted to tell his sister that he could not be worried about her. After all, even though she was no longer a fool, she was also not a simple beastwoman. If someone wanted to take advantage of her, how would she avoid them without him? But before he could say anything, Ruan Chanchan had already walked out of the cave.

When Ruan Chanchan heard his words, she frowned. Because she had never acted arrogantly in front of these people, as far as she was concerned, she had done nothing to make these people upset with her.
"Darling, he dislikes you for having a good brother and a good life. He doesn’t need any reason for hating you."

As soon as she finished speaking, Nan Zhi was stunned, and the mers behind him were just as stunned.
