After Ning Wei finished eating, she handed her tray to the auntie in charge of washing dishes in the kitchen, and then leaned against the window to look outside.
As the sky grew darker, fewer and fewer students remained in the cafeteria.
The lobby, which had been noisy and bustling, now only had a few people scattered about.
The cafeteria uncle seemed to have gone somewhere, and for the first time ever, he wasn't staring at Ning Wei. It seemed he was truly confident.
Ning Wei watched the students in small groups. Beside her was the vegetable basket she had hidden in earlier.
Her gaze shifted from the vegetable basket to the chopping block. The auntie hadn't had time to clean it, and there were still bone fragments on it. They had stewed a large bone and radish soup for the students today.
What drew Ning Wei's attention even more were the splatters of fresh blood on the block, left from cutting meat.
But as Ning Wei looked around, she felt a strange illusion.
She seemed to see the struggling girl, saw the blood flowing from between her legs, dripping onto the ground, some of it even smeared by the management uncle onto the yellowish walls and the uncleared chopping block.
Ning Wei's eyes darkened, filled with a multitude of emotions.
The scene of her witnessing the girl jumping into the lake, the scene of her body being retrieved, all flashed before her eyes.
As the lights in the lobby were turned off, all the students had left.
The aunties were busy tidying up the kitchen in the back. The management uncle, with a cigarette dangling from his lips, sat in the lobby with his legs crossed, a smug look in his eyes.
He was in a very good mood today, and for the first time ever, he hadn't bothered the aunties.
Ning Wei, holding a trash can in one hand and a rag in the other, went around wiping bones and leftover food from the dining tables.
When she reached the table where the management uncle was sitting, the surface was covered in his cigarette ash. Wiping it with the rag left streaks of black marks.
Because it was difficult to clean, Ning Wei spent a bit more time here.
The management uncle, without any pretense, scrutinized Ning Wei from head to toe, his gaze lingering on her chest for a long time.
Ning Wei's grip on the trash can tightened slightly, as if she were crushing the neck of this dead man.
By the time Ning Wei finished cleaning, the aunties had also finished tidying the kitchen.
They changed out of their work clothes and left in small groups after clocking out.
Ning Wei also took the trash can and rag to the back and was about to leave when the management uncle called her to a halt.
"Ning Wei, wait a moment."
Ning Wei stopped, turned around, and looked at him with a face full of coldness.
The management uncle disregarded it, shamelessly saying, "The aunties were lazy, and there are still some places in the kitchen that aren't clean. Go and clean them."
Ning Wei looked at him with a smile that wasn't a smile and replied softly, "Alright."
You refuse the path to heaven, and instead, force your way into hell!
Ning Wei picked up the rag again, and then, when the management uncle wasn't paying attention, she took a fruit knife from the shelf, wrapped it in the rag, and walked past the management uncle with an air of innocence.
The management uncle stroked his freshly grown stubble, threw his cigarette butt on the ground, and stomped it out before following her.
The place he said wasn't cleaned was a corner not visible from the outside, a place convenient for him to do his business.
He looked at Ning Wei's slender legs, swallowed hard, and rubbed his hands incessantly.
Ning Wei saw all his movements in the reflection of the wall and suddenly remembered a saying: "Sharpening knives for cattle and sheep."
It was a pity she didn't know who the cattle and sheep were today.
The management uncle took several deep breaths, trying to gather his courage.
The thought of this beauty like Ning Wei escaping from his grasp twice angered him. Tonight, he would enjoy this feast properly. He would not let go until he had devoured her completely!
His shadow, like a devil, slowly reached for Ning Wei. Just as he was about to place his hand on her shoulder, Ning Wei suddenly turned around.
The management uncle jumped in fright, then smiled sheepishly and said, "I saw a moth on your shoulder."
Ning Wei tilted her head and glanced at her shoulder. In the dim yellow light, her profile appeared incredibly beautiful.
The management uncle could no longer control himself and lunged forward.
Ning Wei stood her ground, making no move to dodge. One of her hands was behind her back, tightly gripping the fruit knife.
As the management uncle drew closer, her pupils contracted slightly.
The management uncle thought Ning Wei was terrified and became even more overconfident.
Just as the management uncle's hand was about to touch her chest, Ning Wei suddenly smiled at him and then fiercely plunged a knife into his neck.
The force was so great, it was like slaughtering a pig or a sheep. The entire blade went into his neck. Fortunately, the man's neck was thick enough, or it would have pierced through.
"You..." The management uncle desperately clutched his neck with both hands.
He dared not pull the knife out, knowing that doing so would only cause more rapid bleeding.
To ensure his feast tonight wouldn't be interrupted, he had even left his phone outside.
With no other option, he could only support himself and slowly walk outwards.
Ning Wei followed closely behind him. Just as his phone was about to make a distress call, she snatched it away and then smashed it forcefully onto the ground.
To his surprise, Ning Wei was quite strong. The phone was shattered into pieces by her throw, making it impossible to salvage.
The management uncle's face turned red with anger, and he tried to grab her.
Ning Wei subtly dodged, and he lunged, missing. The blood from his neck flowed even faster.
Helpless, he had to slowly walk out of the cafeteria, intending to seek help from others.
Ning Wei didn't know what was going on. After stabbing him once, she stopped making any moves and instead kept following the management uncle.
She was like a devil emerging from the darkness, ready to claim his life at any moment.
The management uncle stumbled down the stairs.
At this time, there was no one around. Students were either in the library, in classrooms, or in their dormitories.
He had no choice but to go to the school gate to seek help from the security guards.
To reach the security guard's room, he had to pass through a small grove of trees. As he reached the edge of the grove, Ning Wei made her move.
She yanked out the fruit knife and plunged it into the management uncle's back again with great force.
The management uncle, furious, tried to hit her, but Ning Wei kicked him, sending him tumbling into the small grove of trees.
The sound of their struggle attracted the attention of passengers hiding in the grove. Unsure of the situation, they watched from a distance.
Fu Chengwei, with his sharp eyesight, spotted Ning Wei immediately. He rushed out, only to see Ning Wei holding a knife and a man on the ground, his clothes soaked in blood.
"Ning Wei, what are you doing!" Fu Chengwei exclaimed, sounding anxious.
Ning Wei glanced at him but said nothing. She grabbed the dazed man on the ground and dragged him towards the grove.
Fu Chengwei jumped with anxiety. Seeing the long trail of blood on the ground, he felt both fear and urgency. He carefully stepped over the bloodstains and quickly followed Ning Wei.
Ning Wei's strength was immense, and she dragged the management uncle all the way to the lakeside.
