Chapter 10 Xingfu Community (6)

“Where are we sleeping tonight?” Fu Chengwei tentatively asked Ning Wei.

Ning Wei replied, “Back in the rooms, of course.”

“What!” Fu Chengwei immediately stood up, then realizing his reaction was too much, he sat down like a deflated balloon.

He said to Ning Wei in a very wronged tone, “Can I sleep in the same room as you tonight? I’ll just sleep on the floor. I promise I won’t move, and I absolutely won’t bother you!”

Ning Wei glanced at Fu Chengwei, seeing his genuine fear. “If you dare get on the bed, I’ll beat you to death!”

Fu Chengwei nodded repeatedly and said many pleasant things to Ning Wei.

As long as he didn’t have to sleep alone in a room, he was willing to do anything! Kuaishuge

Since the doors of the second bedroom and master bedroom faced each other, Fu Chengwei dared not look inside and reached out to close the door.

He took a quick glance. The corpse on the bay window was still there. Nannan was still in the same state, staring at the door with her eyes wide open in death, which made Fu Chengwei’s legs go weak again.

He neatly closed the door and, without daring to look back, immediately scurried into the second bedroom. He then made a bed on the floor by the bed and covered his entire face with the quilt.

His movements were so fluid and natural that Ning Wei was stunned.

If only he had this speed when he was on missions, Ning Wei thought.

This night had been quite eventful, and everyone was exhausted. The anticipated arguing voices never materialized, and they all slowly drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, the first thing everyone did upon waking was to go to 1001 to check on the corpse.

As they had expected, the corpse had vanished. Even the blood clots and blood on the floor were gone, as if nothing had happened.

The man who had died in the elevator previously had also disappeared by the next day.

Perhaps it didn’t even take until the next day, as no one would continuously guard a corpse to see exactly how long it would take to disappear.

Having spent a day and two nights in Happiness Community, with the loss of two companions and no other discoveries, everyone’s mood was very low.

However, they hadn't even caught a glimpse of the female ghost, and they still hadn't obtained their train tickets. They had to pull themselves together and face the situation.

Everyone left Building 4 as usual and searched the community for clues.

Perhaps stimulated by the corpse from last night, some people boldly asked the security guards or other residents if any murders had occurred in Happiness Community.

As soon as this question was asked, everyone avoided them.

Even the security guard hid inside the guardhouse, refusing to see them.

It seemed that direct questioning was not going to work.

Everyone returned empty-handed and could only search for clues within the community.

They either rummaged through trash cans, hoping to find related news, or sat next to groups of elderly people, hoping they might discuss such matters.

Meanwhile, Ning Wei remained alone in the living room, intending to see if the sounds of cooking would appear again at noon and in the evening.

By noon, Song Zhi and Fu Chengwei suddenly arrived at 1001.

At that very moment, sounds came from the kitchen. The two of them stood in the living room, not daring to move. Only an hour later, when the sounds disappeared, did they stiffly sit down on the sofa.

Fu Chengwei extended his hand, tremblingly pointing in the direction of the kitchen, then quickly retracted it, as if afraid his finger would be eaten by the ghost.

“Did you all hear that sound just now?”

As soon as he said this, he received two rolls of the eyes. If they hadn't heard it, who would have stood still, too afraid to move?

Fu Chengwei also knew his question was a bit dim-witted and scratched his head sheepishly.

Song Zhi then asked Ning Wei, “Did this sound only start today?”

Ning Wei nodded, “It wasn’t long after I sat down that I heard this sound.”

She didn’t mention hearing it yesterday because she had also secretly overheard the private arrangements made between Song Zhi and Fu Chengwei!

Since these two were playing games with her, she didn’t need to be so kind as to share all her information!

Because of this discovery, Song Zhi notified the others. As soon as this information came out, everyone filled the living room of 1011 again.

The two women who had been assigned here also squeezed into the crowd. They were very afraid of this room and firmly believed that Yang energy could ward off ghosts, so they refused to stand in the corner.

Everyone understood their reaction.

Since the sound had already disappeared, Song Zhi guessed it would appear again in the evening, so everyone stayed put, guarding the place.

Due to the crowding, some went to the study, and some went to the second bedroom. However, the master bedroom, where the death had occurred and which had the most space, was avoided by everyone.

This was fortunate for Ning Wei. She had long been tired of squeezing with this crowd. She entered the master bedroom alone, enjoying the large bed to her heart’s content.

Before she could even close her eyes, the familiar screams rang out again.

She scurried to the living room and found everyone crowded inside the bathroom.

A smell of rust filled the entire house. Ning Wei could guess that someone had died again without even getting closer.

She scanned the area and found that the two women who were determined to stay in the Yang energy were nowhere to be seen.

It seemed they were the ones who had died this time.

As expected, after everyone dispersed, Ning Wei saw the scene inside the bathroom.

The floor was covered in blood, piled high. Four legs were placed haphazardly, with one leg directly in the toilet. The expressions of the two women were filled with terror, as if they had seen something horrific.

“What happened?” Ning Wei, who hadn’t been in the living room, asked the others.

Fu Chengwei stood up and said, “They went to the bathroom together. Because they took too long, someone knocked on the door, and then this happened.”

In other words, this time the ghost had killed someone right under everyone's noses, and they hadn’t noticed.

It seemed this mission was more troublesome than they had imagined. They thought the ghost would be deterred by the crowd, but it still killed people as it pleased.

Ghosts always killed for a reason. Everyone sat together again to discuss the reasons for the deaths of these two women, so that the survivors could avoid the same fate.

Since Nannan, the curly-haired woman, had died, these two had stuck close to everyone, except when they went to the bathroom.

Did they do something against the rules in the bathroom?

No!

Given their cautious nature, they wouldn't have done anything so foolish again!

“They’re dead because they didn’t go home last night,” Ning Wei said, breaking the silence as everyone was speculating.

Ignoring their shocked gazes, Ning Wei continued, “The first person to die was because they occupied the elevator for too long, so their hands were torn off. The second person to die was because they spoke carelessly, so their tongue was pulled out. The third time, the two women who died were because they didn’t sleep in their own homes last night, so their legs were torn off.”

Ning Wei's analysis was very clear. Everyone finally understood. This female ghost must have been very conservative when she was alive!
