"Why are you being so kind?" Ning Wei asked her.
The attendant retorted, "I'm afraid you'll die too quickly. I won't get to see the good show."
Ning Wei ignored her, and accompanied by the swaying bus, it felt like being rocked in a cradle.
This time the bus traveled for a long time. Ning Wei had even fallen asleep, but they still hadn't reached the next stop.
Everyone was a bit uneasy but dared not ask the attendant.
Finally, after an hour of anxious waiting, the bus stopped.
"We're here, get off." The driver's voice was like insects crawling down a throat, a rustling sound accompanied by static, and no one could hear clearly.
It was the attendant who repeated the announcement, and then everyone disembarked in order of their seat numbers.
This time the attendant seemed very pleased. She counted the passengers again and then said to Ning Wei, who was at the very back, "Do you believe me? Someone will definitely die this time. I can already smell death."
Ning Wei glanced at her contemptuously and asked very seriously, "Are you sure it's not the stench of decay coming from yourself?"
The attendant, furious, shouted, "Close the door!"
The sign at this stop read "XX Hospital." The beginning characters were missing, but the word "Hospital" was clearly visible.
Upon seeing it was a hospital, everyone grew fearful.
Since ancient times, hospitals have been the subject of the most ghost stories.
They didn't have much time to discuss. Suddenly, lights flickered behind them, and buildings appeared one after another. At the very top, it read "Harmony Private Hospital."
"So that's its name," someone muttered.
They dared not move about casually, as their guide had not yet appeared.
Even though it was night, people were moving about the hospital, and ambulances were coming and going, giving the impression of great busyness.
An ambulance pulled up, and a heavily pregnant woman with an enormous belly was wheeled out. A group of medical staff pushed her into the emergency room, followed by a wailing middle-aged man.
"Please, save my daughter!"
Behind him trailed another middle-aged woman, who was repeatedly urging the doctor, "Make sure to save my grandson!"
The doctor, overwhelmed by the two middle-aged women, could only make excuses to defer them.
These two women represented two extremes and two different statuses.
The passengers watched with the keen interest of onlookers, not even noticing when someone appeared beside them.
"Are you all done watching?" the person, having waited too long, finally spoke.
A sudden voice startled everyone. Yuan Yuan immediately grabbed Ning Wei's arm.
However, upon closer inspection, although the person appeared normal, an aura of chilling malevolence emanated from them.
She had long, flowing hair and wore a red dress with white canvas shoes. The shoes had splatters of red, and in the dim light, it was impossible to tell if the color was blood or something else.
Seeing no one answer, the woman didn't get angry. She gestured for them to follow and explained, "This time, I hope you can help me find my house. I've been looking for so long, but I just can't find it. Where has my house gone..."
The woman's words became increasingly unsettling as she repeated the word "house."
Someone whispered, "If you want a house, you should go to a real estate agent!"
At that moment, the woman suddenly stopped. Blood began to stream down her head, soaking her dress. Oblivious, she loudly addressed the passengers, "Find my house, or you will all die!"
As soon as she finished speaking, the woman vanished. The passengers then realized they had already walked into the inpatient building.
It was indeed a private hospital, luxuriously decorated, and the medical staff were exceptionally courteous.
Seeing Ning Wei and the group standing there, a nurse immediately approached. "Please follow me. My name is Wang Xi, you can call me Xiao Xi. I'm on duty tonight and will help you with your admission procedures."
The group bustled along with the blood-spattered Nurse Wang Xi to the nurses' station. They registered their names one by one, and she informed them of their room and bed assignments. If anyone couldn't find their room, other nurses would escort them.
This level of service was something they had never experienced. Had they not been forced to be there, in the real world, they would never have spent money for such luxurious treatment.
This private hospital was most famous for its obstetrics and gynecology department, hence its other name: Harmony Maternal and Child Hospital.
The passengers were conveniently assigned to rooms on either side of the corridor. All the men were to the left of the nurses' station, and all the women to the right.
Upon reaching their rooms, they learned why they were admitted. Ning Wei's face turned grim when she saw her medical record stated "menstrual irregularities."
Even more mortifying for Fu Chengwei and the others were the male passengers' records, all related to infertility, with the most common diagnosis being "oligospermia."
Fu Chengwei and Song Zhi shared a room. Seeing "oligospermia" on Song Zhi's record, Fu Chengwei burst into uncontrollable laughter.
Song Zhi retaliated by snatching Fu Chengwei's record. When it stated "penis excessively long," he immediately shared it with Mei Nan, who was in the same room.
Seeing their "friendly fire," Mei Nan quickly hid his own record.
After all the patients were assigned, it was time for injections and medication.
Despite Fu Chengwei's strong protests, he ended up being given a sedative injection.
Mei Nan looked at the sleeping Fu Chengwei with concern, "They're not going to actually... you know... castrate him, are they?"
Song Zhi said with schadenfreude, "Who knows?"
With Fu Chengwei as a cautionary tale, everyone became very cooperative, accepting injections and taking medication.
Fortunately, after the nurses distributed the pre-packaged medications to the patients, they would leave. Therefore, everyone secretly disposed of their medicine in the trash.
The first night passed smoothly. Apart from Fu Chengwei receiving an extra injection, no one suffered any losses.
Everyone was contemplating the matter of the "house," as the woman had issued a serious threat: if they couldn't find her house, she would take all their lives.
Due to Ning Wei's "outstanding" performance at the previous stop, everyone had become somewhat fearful of her. Except for a few passengers who had been close to her before, the others maintained a distance.
Fortunately, her roommates were Yuan Yuan and Zhu Yulian, so she didn't feel too lonely.
However, she clearly didn't care much about it. While the nurse was away, she secretly removed her IV needle, intending to explore the hospital.
"Where are you going?" Yuan Yuan asked nervously, seeing Ning Wei get out of bed.
She was the passenger closest to Ning Wei. Although she knew Ning Wei acted boldly, she deeply admired her, thinking she looked incredibly cool when she charged ahead as if walking through a blaze of fire.
