Madam Jade

Chapter 162 The Mental Hospital Twenty-Six

There was no schedule, nor a specific time to prepare for.

Ning Wei looked at the four girls, their eyes full of anticipation.

Alright, Ning Wei admitted she was conquered by their four pleading gazes.

"The nurses start work at eight. I'll open the doors for you at seven-thirty. You can pair up as you see fit, try to take care of the nurses, and if you're in danger, shout, and we'll come to your rescue immediately. How about that?" Ning Wei thought through the details and, once she was sure it was feasible, told them.

They nodded repeatedly, assuring her they would do an excellent job.

With teammates by their side, progress was naturally faster.

However, the male passengers weren't as lucky. Moreover, for a grown man to admit he couldn't defeat a defenseless woman would surely lead to ridicule.

Before separating, everyone remembered to take the pills they had saved during the day.

After Ning Wei locked their doors, she and Li Ye took turns secretly administering drugs into the water dispenser.

"Thank you for today," Ning Wei said to Li Ye as they returned to the ward.

Without him, tonight wouldn't have gone so smoothly.

After all, no one else had lock-picking skills, nor the ability to kick someone unconscious with a single blow.

It seemed Li Ye had kept his promise to accompany Ning Wei. Although it took him several extra hours, everything had worked out in time.

Ning Wei liked to think through all possible consequences before acting, so she would devise several plans and inform different people about them.

Everyone would contribute to one of her plans, and she had calculated everything, thus ensuring her own safety to the greatest extent.

"You were a bit impulsive today. What if they had made a move against you during the day?" Li Ye disagreed with Ning Wei's approach.

"I have countermeasures," Ning Wei explained patiently to Li Ye while meticulously smearing the powder into the water pipe.

Hearing her say that, Li Ye didn't know what else to say. Too much talk would only make him seem less composed.

"This is actually a gamble, to see if the teammates I've led for so long are worth trusting."

"Going all-in is too dangerous!" was Li Ye's only evaluation.

"But I still have you. I believe you won't forget your promise."

Upon hearing this, Li Ye felt a lump in his throat, neither up nor down. He regretted having repeatedly assured her he would save her.

Returning to the ward, Ning Wei hesitated with her hand on the door, not pushing it open. She thought for a long time and decided she needed to have a good talk with Li Ye.

Regardless of Li Ye's identity, even though he had only joined two stations, his abilities surpassed others, even Ning Wei's.

She didn't know why he was hiding here, but Ning Wei hoped he wouldn't always stand on the highest peak, but would occasionally look down. The other passengers were also working hard, but their abilities were too poor to catch the eye of someone like Li Ye.

Li Ye let out a cold laugh after hearing her: "You know they're foolish, so why don't you leave them and go alone? With your abilities, why would you waste so much time here?"

Ning Wei retorted, unwilling to back down: "What about you? You're even more capable than I am. In the basement, Ming Gang woke up just from your bead flashing past, so why are you still here wasting time with us?"

As long as these two were together, they were bound to bicker after a while. And here they went again.

However, their bickering did not affect their cooperative relationship in the slightest.

Li Ye, adhering to the principle of not arguing with a woman, entered the room first, slamming the door to express his anger.

Ning Wei followed suit, slamming the door with even greater force.

The sound was loud enough to be heard upstairs and downstairs.

The other passengers, who had just fallen asleep, were startled awake. They immediately realized that these two troublesome individuals were arguing again. They silently prayed that they wouldn't bicker at a critical moment, then pulled their blankets up a little higher, covering their ears to go back to sleep.

Back in the ward, Ning Wei was still fuming. Li Ye was truly a stubborn man who wouldn't say two good words even if prodded.

Initially, when he took the lead and she saw everyone appear in the basement, she was very happy.

But the two of them would always quarrel over trivial matters.

Although Li Ye hadn't said it, Ning Wei, being intelligent, could guess that he was forced to stay with this group of passengers.

If that was the case, why did he keep urging her to abandon these passengers?

Having more people had its drawbacks, but it also had its advantages.

Take the nightly powder, for example. If there weren't enough people, with just the two of them, who knew how long it would take to drive a nurse mad.

Yet Li Ye, with his arrogance, completely overlooked the contributions of others.

Meanwhile, Li Ye was playing with the bead in his hand, letting the moonlight fall on his palm. The bead greedily absorbed wisps of dark energy.

The next second, Li Ye waved his hand, and all the dark energy disappeared. The bead returned to its ordinary appearance.

At seven-thirty, Li Ye glanced at Ning Wei, who was still sleeping, and couldn't help but go in and wake her up.

"Didn't you say you were going to call them? It's already seven-thirty."

Upon hearing this, Ning Wei immediately jumped out of bed. Without time to thank him, she rushed to the office, checked the time, and then immediately ran upstairs and downstairs.

The nurses were scheduled to start work at eight sharp. At this time, they should be having breakfast in the cafeteria.

Tang Tang and Yuan Yuan were in one room, while Zhu Yulian and Wang Jing were in another.

They had already agreed that one person would hide behind the door with a stool. As soon as a nurse entered, they would hit her from behind, ensuring a direct hit.

Ning Wei shouldn't have been here, so she was troubled about whether she should find a place to hide.

Seeing her expression, Li Ye knew she was looking for a hiding spot. He directly grabbed her clothes and dragged her into the ward.

"You can stand in the bathroom," he said to Ning Wei as he pulled her inside and then returned to sit by the window without looking back.

Ning Wei rolled her eyes behind him, then obediently entered the bathroom.

Perhaps it was because he was handsome, but the bathroom Li Ye used was several times cleaner than Mei Nan's. It was truly a case of comparing people and driving oneself mad!

Ning Wei had deep faith in Li Ye's abilities, so she wasn't worried that he couldn't handle the nurses searching the rooms.

She simply put down the toilet seat, sat down, and looked around with her legs crossed.

With only half an hour of preparation time, the more nervous everyone became, the faster time seemed to fly.

Ning Wei, hiding in the bathroom, soon heard a muffled thud. This was the sound of Li Ye taking action.

She cautiously poked her head out and saw Wang Xia already lying on the ground.

"You're amazing!" Ning Wei praised him, giving him a thumbs-up.

Li Ye paid no attention to her flattery. There were still nurses outside, and they had to deal with them as quickly as possible.

Li Ye and Ning Wei walked out of the ward together. Their cooperation meant that this hospital's reign could end here.
