Ning Wei also placed her hand on the wall upon hearing this, but unfortunately, she could only see ghosts when they appeared. With no ghosts in sight now, she couldn't sense anything.
"No wonder the manager booked us a deluxe room. Their intentions are clearly not on the room itself. Do they want us to die in this haunted room?"
"Most likely," Li Ye replied, drawing the curtains.
Dark red curtains, a wall built with corpses, and a ghostly woman with a ghastly death in the mirror – it looked like a crime scene no matter how you sliced it.
For Ning Wei, this place was quite interesting.
After all, this was her specialty. The previous few stations had required a lot of thinking, and as a person of action, she found it tiring.
It was almost pathetic to be arguing and fighting with the attendants using blood beads out of boredom.
There were ghosts in the elevator and ghosts in the mirror. Ning Wei felt incredibly excited. She just wondered if her timid teammates could adapt to this place.
The two of them searched the entire room and had only found a mirror ghost and the corpse hidden from sight.
"How about we call everyone and explore the hotel together?" Since they had nothing else to do, why not look for ghosts together?
Li Ye readily agreed. He nodded slightly, then picked up his meal card, and walked out of the room with Ning Wei.
They knocked on the doors of their rooms one after another. Upon learning that Ning Wei's room had a ghost, they were so scared that they dragged Ning Wei back in to check again.
Ning Wei was speechless, being forced to follow them around the room repeatedly.
"I've told you there are none. If you're so eager to find them, why don't we switch rooms?"
"No, no, no!" Tang Tang and the others quickly waved their hands.
"Then where do we go next?" Tang Tang, wanting to distract Ning Wei from her idea, quickly changed the subject.
"To find ghosts. Are you guys coming?" Ning Wei said seriously.
Tang Tang's face turned pale. "Are there any other more challenging tasks for us? Like finding out if there have been any murder cases in this hotel? Or, besides us, are there any other passengers?"
"Then you go ahead." Ning Wei was very accommodating. She knew Tang Tang and the others were afraid.
Moreover, they didn't have the abilities that she and Li Ye possessed. Faced with the ghosts' torment, they could only flee in disarray.
"Really?" Tang Tang couldn't believe her ears.
"Really." Ning Wei spoke as she walked towards the elevator.
The elevator quickly ascended to the fourth floor. Ning Wei and Li Ye stepped inside and looked up to see the female ghost still clinging to the ceiling.
Every guest who entered was her target for torment, and this time was no exception.
She turned her head, her grayish-white eyes glancing over them, then pretended as if nothing had happened, her twisted limbs gripping tighter.
Before the elevator doors could close, Zhuo Yulian ran over, cautiously pointing her finger upwards, asking if "she" was still there.
Ning Wei nodded slightly, "As long as you stand at the edges, it's fine. She's only clinging to the very center."
Even with Ning Wei's reassurance, Zhuo Yulian and the others were determined not to take this elevator.
There was only one elevator in the hotel, but luckily, the floors weren't too high. They could still take the stairs down.
Ning Wei and the others had already gone down.
"Let's go too." Mei Nan picked up his room card, closed the door, and led everyone towards the stairwell.
The hotel stairwell was different from those in residential buildings. It was spacious and bright, with luxurious decoration. Even the handrails were polished to a high sheen by the cleaning aunt.
As Mei Nan and the others descended the stairs, they encountered a cleaning aunt disposing of cigarette butts in a trash can in a corner.
Tang Tang, remembering Ning Wei's words, treated the cleaning aunt like a benefactor.
She enthusiastically rushed over and peppered the aunt with questions, only to find the aunt utterly confused.
"I'm sorry, guests. I've only been working here for two days, and I really don't know anything about this place."
Tang Tang was taken aback. Fortunately, the questions she asked randomly were irrelevant and hadn't touched upon anything crucial.
The atmosphere became a bit awkward. Mei Nan and the others had already moved down. Wang Jing suddenly called out Tang Tang's name, and Tang Tang, relieved, quickly followed them.
The group descended the stairs in a flurry, but Ning Wei and the others were nowhere to be seen.
Mei Nan looked at the entrance where people were constantly coming and going and said to everyone, "Even if you're scared, don't place all your hopes on Ning Wei and Li Ye."
"Everyone still has to rely on themselves." Mei Nan said this not only to others but also to himself.
The true nature of this hotel was still unclear, but from Ning Wei's room, some information could be inferred. This hotel was definitely not clean.
Just as they stood in the lobby, lost and unsure of their next step, a service staff member in a red uniform approached.
With a smile, she approached with six cups of tea: "Guests, please have some tea."
Zhuo Yulian, disgusted, glanced at the white porcelain teacups that still had lipstick stains on them and directly refused on behalf of everyone: "No, thank you. We're not thirsty."
The service staff member did not leave, maintaining the same smile. "Please, guests, have some tea."
Tang Tang lightly nudged Zhuo Yulian with her elbow. It was then that they noticed a line around the service staff's neck.
They hadn't noticed it before because she was wearing a high-necked red uniform, which initially obscured it.
The line went deep enough to see bone. Tang Tang dared to look closely, only to discover that the red line wasn't a real thread but a very deep and fatal wound.
After discovering this detail, everyone's faces turned noticeably grim.
Looking again at the service staff's face, there were faint signs of decay. If one sniffed closely, there was a faint foul odor.
Everyone scrutinized the service staff from head to toe. Her smile remained unchanged, as if it were contorted into that state and couldn't revert.
"Guests, please have some tea!" the service staff said, her tone emphasizing the words.
Everyone's hearts sank. They didn't know how to make her leave.
They certainly couldn't drink the tea. Who knew what would happen if they drank tea poured by a ghost; they might become one of her kind.
Mei Nan feigned composure. He picked up a cup of tea and said to everyone, "Since she kindly brought it, you should accept it."
Everyone forced a smile, fearing that the service staff would detect something amiss. One by one, they took a cup of tea from the tray.
Just as everyone was wondering what to do next, the service staff, as if her task was complete, placed the tray down and slowly retreated.
After a few steps, she completely disappeared from their sight.
The teacups in their hands felt like bombs. They all tacitly placed the teacups on a nearby table.
