With Ning Wei's words and her watchful presence, everyone found their anchor.
The four of them moved swiftly, pinning Fangfang to the ground.
Fangfang's strength was astonishing at this moment, showing signs of breaking free.
"Get more people! Quickly!" Seeing this, Uncle Meng waved frantically towards the door before Ning Wei could speak.
Several more people joined in, surrounding Fangfang completely.
Immobilized, Fangfang shrieked and babbled, her face contorted to a point where no one dared to look.
Ning Wei casually pulled down a towel hanging from a rope and gently draped it over Fangfang's face.
She lifted Fangfang's clothes, revealing bulging veins on her distended belly.
Whatever was inside seemed to sense the threat and was moving more violently.
Those holding Fangfang couldn't help but glance at her stomach.
The constant bulging and shifting clearly indicated it wasn't a child inside.
The onlookers, having never witnessed such a thing, felt their eyes straining to get a closer look.
Ning Wei's expression grew serious as she reached out and patted Fangfang's belly.
Fangfang let out a piercing scream, no different from a tormented ghost.
"Hold her down!" Ning Wei instructed the others sternly.
Her hands continued their work, relentlessly striking at whatever was inside.
Fangfang's belly turned red from Ning Wei's blows, mingling with the protruding veins, creating a grotesque spectacle.
"I need chicken blood and hot water, hurry and prepare them!" Ning Wei addressed Uncle Meng.
Since preparing the items would take time, Ning Wei asked the others to loosen their grip.
After all, the main door was blocked by everyone, and Fangfang couldn't possibly escape.
Upon regaining her freedom, Fangfang shot Ning Wei a venomous glare, a look that felt eerily familiar to Ning Wei.
"Look at me again," Ning Wei said to Fangfang.
Others might have interpreted this as a threat, but Fangfang was too far gone mentally to discern polite from impolite.
She was surprisingly cooperative. When Ning Wei asked her to look, Fangfang glared at Ning Wei multiple times.
Each glare was filled with intense hatred and malice, like that of a venomous snake.
Now, Ning Wei was certain who that look belonged to.
If she weren't outmatched, she would have truly wanted to look through Fangfang's eyes to curse the one hiding behind her.
This time, Uncle Meng personally fetched the supplies, and soon brought what Ning Wei needed.
"Uncle Meng, I need to trouble you with one more thing."
"Just say it."
"I prefer not to be observed when I'm working, so please guard this door and don't let anyone in. Tang Tang will help me here. We'll inform you after we're done."
Ning Wei didn't want others to know about the peculiar nature of her blood, so she concocted an excuse.
Uncle Meng recalled that the last time Yu Baohua had risen from the dead, Ning Wei had also closed the door to handle it.
Just like Master Ci Yun, people in this profession often had quirks. Perhaps they had secrets they didn't want seen, which was quite normal.
"Then I'll be going. If you need anything, just shout for me," Uncle Meng said as he walked towards the exit.
He single-handedly closed the door, shutting out countless curious eyes.
"What do you need me to do?" Tang Tang rolled up her sleeves. It was her first time facing such a situation alone, and she felt quite nervous.
"Pour the chicken blood into her." Since she had help, Ning Wei dragged over a stool to sit down.
"What?" Tang Tang looked at the chicken blood in the white porcelain bowl, then at Fangfang, who was behaving like a lunatic.
The chicken blood looked fresh, not yet fully congealed.
Most importantly, it was raw. Was it safe to drink?
"There's a nest of small snakes inside her stomach, so we need to force them out with chicken blood. Otherwise, when the time is right and they all crawl out of her belly, it will be too late," Ning Wei explained patiently to Tang Tang.
These strange occurrences were common in this town, and it wouldn't hurt for them to know more. It might even help them in crucial moments.
In the past, Ning Wei had fought alone. However, after experiencing so many stations, she had to admit that despite her strength, her successful departures had always relied on everyone's efforts.
Facing a living being, Tang Tang no longer hesitated.
She picked up the bowl of chicken blood and approached Fangfang step by step.
Fangfang eyed her warily, her fists clenched, looking ready to punch Tang Tang at any moment.
Tang Tang paused abruptly. "I'm not afraid of her hitting me, I'm afraid of spilling this bowl of chicken blood. Did you have her cooperate and drink it?"
Ning Wei thought about it and agreed. She bit her finger, pinched Fangfang's cheeks, and drew a few strokes on her forehead with her blood.
Fangfang's gaze slowly became vacant as Ning Wei's movements continued, as if her soul had been drawn out.
"Alright, you can go now."
Seeing Fangfang in this state, Tang Tang's courage instantly grew. She decisively fed Fangfang the entire bowl of chicken blood.
"And then?" Tang Tang found herself increasingly interested in resolving such matters, wondering if it was what Buddhism called destiny.
Ning Wei patted the stool. "Just sit and wait."
As soon as Tang Tang sat down, Ning Wei lifted Fangfang's belly.
Because of the chicken blood, the small snakes inside churned like a storm.
Fangfang's face showed how hard she was enduring.
Ning Wei gently soothed her, "Don't worry, I'll help you."
Fangfang seemed to regain consciousness for a brief moment, during which Ning Wei caught a glimpse of her eyes filled with pain and despair.
Beside them was a large basin of steaming hot water. Ning Wei acted quickly, drawing a talisman on Fangfang's belly with her own blood, muttering incantations under her breath, and then with a powerful motion, she slapped Fangfang's protruding stomach.
"Ah!" Fangfang screamed in agony, her mouth opening wider than a normal person could manage.
Ning Wei pulled the bewildered Tang Tang onto the stool, not forgetting to remind Fangfang, "If you feel like vomiting, spit into the hot water."
What followed was a scene Tang Tang would never forget, to the point she regretted having eyes.
Fangfang began to vomit uncontrollably, kneeling by the basin of hot water, letting the steam rise to her face.
Then, she saw dark, wriggling things emerging from her mouth, but they wouldn't drop. Tang Tang watched, both tense and terrified.
"Should I help her pull them out?" Tang Tang surprised herself by suggesting it, but seeing Fangfang's suffering, she couldn't stand idly by.
Ning Wei was somewhat surprised by her suggestion, and then praised Tang Tang, "I didn't expect you to be so brave."
However, if they could truly be pulled out, it wouldn't be considered an affliction.
