Chapter 565: Chapter 565: Arrival
Nian Shutong indeed took another look at the boy, thankfully, he was a smart one, knowing how to adapt.
After boarding the starship, the boy’s gaze fixed directly on the people who had spoken earlier, his look was cold and somewhat aggressive but quickly returned to calm.
It was them.
With just one glance, the boy knew.
Was it jealousy? Was it discontentment with sharing a school with someone of his stature?
The boy moved to an empty seat, thanked Fu Yunhe again, placed his backpack down from his shoulders, and sat down.
The moment he sat down, he told himself, since there was jealousy, let it continue.
"I am Yu Mo, preparing to go to the Imperial Military Academy for the examination."
"Fu Yunhe, same examination."
Fu Yunhe merely acknowledged, having no desire to engage in further conversation.
Yu Mo wasn’t a fool either, he sat quietly to one side and said no more.
Before long, the starship began its journey toward the first district.
Nian Shutong: Finally left, just in time for a nap.
Fu Yunhe: This troublesome sheep has fallen asleep in my arms.
Yu Mo: Everything is going to be different.
Yu Mo boarded the starship, leaving those behind him who were also heading to the examination, seething in silence.
They were only capable of these small maneuvers, not daring to confront directly, much less question the one helping Yu Mo?
They had to silently endure, unsure if other opportunities would arise?
The starship continued its voyage, Nian Shutong herself slept soundly, even as it frequently stopped at transfer stations, with people coming and going, none disturbed her.
As for Fu Yunhe, he didn’t sleep; initially, he tried every way possible to place the sheep Yangyang onto the ground, but each time he moved, Yangyang would open its eyes to look at him.
He quieted down, and Yangyang promptly fell asleep.
Fu Yunhe was absolutely certain, this was a sheep pretending to sleep.
Eventually, he simply stopped moving, resigned to his fatigue.
Halfway through the journey, Nian Shutong finally opened her eyes and immediately asked, "Are we there?"
"Not yet, are you hungry?"
Fu Yunhe naturally passed a cup of water to Nian Shutong, saying, "Have some water first, refresh yourself."
Nian Shutong propped herself up, took the water cup, and gulped it down.
"How far have we traveled?"
"About half the distance."
"That slow?"
Nian Shutong handed the water cup back to Fu Yunhe, now much more refreshed herself, having had enough sleep, and with half the journey still to go, there seemed only one option left.
Eat.
On such a long journey, why not eat?
"What would you like to eat?"
Fu Yunhe asked familiarly, waiting for Nian Shutong to respond.
"Let’s go with a peach first, to cleanse the palate."
"Okay."
Fu Yunhe had a Space Button on his wrist, but this was merely decorative to conceal the Space Ring, from which everyone saw him retrieving food.
A pink peach with water droplets still on it, large and juicy.
Nian Shutong took the peach, eating it voraciously, its sweetness and juice overflowing, delicious.
A peach sparked the food-blogging journey of two people.
Following a large peach, there was a bunch of grapes, and then a pile of tiny red fruits that looked delicious.
After finishing the fruits, it seemed to merely whet their appetites, as each of them took out a packed lunch.
The rich dishes and fragrant aromas attracted many glances from the surrounding people, many of whom were somewhat unsettled.
The calmest person, however, was Yu Mo, who sat the closest to the two.
Yu Mo didn’t even glance their way and kept his eyes shut, sitting straight-backed against his chair.
Regardless of what he was thinking, his composure alone made him stand out from many others.
After Nian Shutong and Fu Yunhe finished their boxed meals, they didn’t eat any more strong-smelling food; instead, they took out a bag of sunflower seeds and ate them slowly.
Not only were they eating, but Nian Shutong also found a TV drama to watch while eating, and beside them was a Yangyang peeping at the show.
Yangyang: This trick isn’t bad, I must remember it.
A strange piece of knowledge was added to Yangyang’s collection.
The journey was peaceful until the endpoint, but it was only the Third District, because Zone 1 did not allow such starships; only authorized starships could enter.
However, the Imperial Military Academy was very generous, providing a dedicated starship transfer for everyone that arrived in the Third District, and all applicants’ meals and lodging were free.
If you got into the Imperial Military Academy, everything was free.
But if you didn’t pass, they would politely send you back to this spot in the Third District, and after that, you’d have no further connection with the Imperial Military Academy.
The starship docked, and everyone started to disembark.
At the door, Nian Shutong and Fu Yunhe were in no hurry, especially since there were other exits besides this starship door.
Just about when nearly everyone had disembarked, the person next to them, Yu Mo, stood up, packed his backpack, and said his final words to them.
"Thank you for your help, I will keep it in my heart."
Both just nodded without saying much, and Yu Mo walked down the starship toward his own vast universe of stars.
Nian Shutong watched Yu Mo’s fading figure, feeling he might be quite a character.
"Shall we go?"
Fu Yunhe asked Nian Shutong, who stretched languidly and said lazily, "Duh."
The insulted Fu Yunhe merely smirked and reached out his hand to pull Nian Shutong, placatingly saying, "You’re right."
Nian Shutong glanced at Fu Yunhe, not refusing his hand.
She placed her hand in his, stood up, and as she let go, said, "Let’s go see the world of a future commander."
"It will live up to the expectations."
Their bold proclamation made the ticket inspector at the door feel an impulsive urge to smirk.
But as the two walked past him, he felt that perhaps they really could make it.
The inspector was startled by his own inner speculations; why would he think that?
By now, Nian Shutong and Fu Yunhe had joined the large group boarding the starship to pick up students; everyone with a registration form could board.
"I don’t have a registration form."
"It’s okay, you count as family."
With that single declaration, Fu Yunhe proudly had their marriage certificate ready at the starship door to prove Nian Shutong’s status as his family.
But...
"Go ahead."
The person checking at the door only verified Fu Yunhe’s identity and didn’t question Nian Shutong.
"Doesn’t she need to be checked?"
"Every person is allowed two accompanying guests, and everyone will be sent back together after the exam; no checking is needed."
Nian Shutong, seeing a slightly disappointed Fu Yunhe, nudged him from behind and said, "Come on!"
"Alright."
