Chapter 578: Chapter 578: Watching a Movie
Fu Yunhe nodded to Nian Shutong, who had suggested they check out a small shop together, and the two of them walked towards it.
When Nian Shutong reached the front of the shop and glanced at the prices, she almost thought she was in the wrong place.
She poked Fu Yunhe’s waist with her finger, but he quickly caught her hand and said, “First time.”
Right, it was their first date watching a movie, so they might as well buy it.
Nian Shutong withdrew her fingers; it wasn’t that she was stingy, but rather that they already owned such things and she felt it was not worth buying.
Eventually, Fu Yunhe bought a bucket of popcorn and two bottles of water.
He noticed many others were buying the same, so it must be the standard package.
Holding the popcorn, Nian Shutong popped a piece into her mouth; it naturally didn’t taste as good as the ones on Blue Star, but here, it was more about the gesture.
She also realized that without her prompting, everyone had naturally made the perfect combination of movies and popcorn.
Holding two bottles of water, Fu Yunhe led the way, checked their tickets first, with Nian Shutong following behind him.
After the check, Fu Yunhe found their cinema hall following the signs and once again took Nian Shutong’s hand, saying, “It’s dark inside.”
“Okay.”
Nian Shutong didn’t feel much about it; holding hands was fine.
She thought even if Fu Yunhe was daring, holding hands would be it.
However, when they entered the screening room, they were greeted by bright lights and a clearly visible hall, causing Nian Shutong to suppress a laugh and ask, “When was the last time you watched a movie?”
Fu Yunhe felt a bit awkward too, not expecting things to have changed.
“When I was a junior soldier, the Legion organized a movie session.”
Being a junior soldier? That was ages ago.
If this were ancient times, that length of time could have changed dynasties.
Finally seated in the second to last row, a middle position,
“What movie?”
Nian Shutong asked, as that morning when they purchased the tickets, they had only chosen a time, without specifying the type of film.
Fu Yunhe opened up his Light Computer, checked, and said, “It’s a battle type.”
Nian Shutong nodded and said, “That’s not bad, eat some popcorn?”
She tilted the small bucket of popcorn towards Fu Yunhe, who smiled and took a few pieces to eat slowly.
Fu Yunhe felt he enjoyed such moments and the time spent together, just the two of them, quietly, not needing to say anything, just sitting together.
Unfortunately, this peaceful time was brief as the movie began.
Once the movie started, Nian Shutong watched intently; it was her first time seeing such a film and she found it quite novel.
The entire cinema was built with virtual technology, but it wasn’t too overwhelming, just enough to immerse you completely in the plot.
The story was quite cliché; a character full of troubles, yet remarkably capable, accidentally uncovered the villain’s scheme, but had no one around to trust.
Somehow, he ended up teaming up with a scrappy sidekick, and together they smilingly and angrily saved a planet.
After the movie finished, Nian Shutong had only one feeling: the villain was too weak!
You planned for years, and the whole country failed to notice, only for it to be ruined by two people? Even their lair was destroyed.
“How was it?”
Nian Shutong looked at Fu Yunhe who was asking and responded with a question.
“How do you think?”
“The plot was ridiculous, but the visual effects were pretty good.”
“Good, your mind did not go bad.”
Nian Shutong shoved the now empty popcorn bucket into Fu Yunhe’s arms and said, “Let’s go, I’ll take you on a date.”
“As you wish.”
The two of them left the cinema in a good mood, disposed of the garbage, and then stood outside the cinema doors, looking around.
Nian Shutong chose a direction and said, “Let’s go this way.”
“Okay.”
The cinema was in a central location, flanked on both sides by various big shops.
Such as clothing stores, shoe stores, bookstores, restaurants, sculptures, handicrafts, and other shops.
Nian Shutong, with a mind to survey the market, started browsing from one shop to the next.
The first shop they entered was a clothing store, which was high-end and classy in decoration. Whether it was a famous brand or not, neither of them knew.
However, the attitude of the staff inside was very welcoming, with no arrogance and no rules about not touching or handling items.
“This is our latest design, very suitable for you, madam.”
The attentive staff member explained as Nian Shutong felt the fabric and asked, “What material is this?”
“This is TFJ9 material, it has undergone multiple inspections and has no harmful residues, please rest assured.”
After looking around, Nian Shutong got a general idea of the prices of the clothes.
Materials were graded, but the most expensive clothing was so due to the designer’s fees.
Thinking of the silk and satin she had, did she really need to hire a designer?
She couldn’t design clothes herself, but with her drawing skills, she could sketch out designs, yet still required professionals to make them.
As for herself, she really didn’t have the downtime to make clothes.
Nian Shutong browsed around, buying nothing, but the attitude of the staff remained the same, which made her feel comfortable. In a better mood, she pointed out items to Fu Yunhe who was following behind, “This one, this one, that one, and that one.”
“Alright, I’ll go pay.”
Fu Yunhe stepped forward and took down the clothes Nian Shutong had indicated, asking the staff trailing them, “Do you have anything new?”
“Sorry, all our items are unique; we only have one size for each.”
“Could you find my wife’s size?”
“Sure, one moment please.”
The staff member took the clothes Fu Yunhe had selected and quickly began looking for the right sizes.
As the staff was about to begin the transaction, a fashionable and dazzling woman entered the store.
Following the woman were four men dressed in black, carrying her shopping bags.
“Where’s the salesperson? I heard the silk handkerchief arrived? Where is it?”
The woman’s words made Nian Shutong, who was preparing to leave, stop and turn to the staff next to her, saying, “I want to look around some more.”
“Of course, take your time.”
The staff member continued to follow Nian Shutong, while Fu Yunhe, holding the bags, stood on the other side.
At this moment, a salesperson hurriedly attended to the newly arrived woman and instructed someone to fetch the silk handkerchief she asked for.
“Miss Zhao, you’ve come at just the right time. The handkerchief was just delivered.”
The lady referred to as Miss Zhao seemed to finally breathe a sigh of relief. It was a close match.
With that handkerchief, who could say she had no taste?
