1098: Chapter 323: Twenty-Seven Heads_2 1098: Chapter 323: Twenty-Seven Heads_2 “Not that he couldn’t resolve it, he just couldn’t intervene.”
With Ji Feixue’s hidden power unleashed, even if he came to see Su He, he could only send an avatar.
He looked at Su He and sighed lightly, “There’s no need to look for the Wine Meat Monk anymore, with this power, currently, no one from the Mystery Huang Group can come close, otherwise, there would have been no need for the Scholar to struggle for three thousand years when Meng Le met with disaster.”
The people Tai Zu spoke of were the ancient ancestors from the Mystery Huang World that were of the same Boundary Status as him.
Those with the ability couldn’t make a move, and those who could, didn’t have the power.
Su He was taken aback, did the old ancestor know everything?
Did he know about his father-in-law and mother-in-law?
“Come with me,” Tai Zu said as he drew a line in the air with his paw, revealing an indescribable passageway that led who knows where.
Su He followed Tai Zu with one step, and the surroundings drastically changed; the starlight was shattered but brilliant, accompanied by an overflowing Star River.
They were already in the Star Sea.
Su He looked around in amazement, following Tai Zu ahead with the starlight shifting under their feet, and in just a moment, they had already entered a mountain range, prompting him to look around in shock.
“Di Mountain!” Su He exclaimed in surprise.
Tai Zu turned his head and smiled, “No, it’s just the Old turtle’s boredom, he piled it up when idle.”
As he spoke, he led Su He to where the passageway between the two worlds of Di Mountain was.
There, a silent altar stood, exactly where Su He first encountered Tai Zu’s Turtle Egg.
Tai Zu glanced at Su He with a strange look in his eyes, leading him onto the altar and settling beside it.
Su He, holding Ji Feixue, stepped onto the altar and saw the scene change.
Where there was no one before, now a figure appeared, sitting cross-legged on the altar bound by Iron Chains, with Talisman Runes flickering around them.
“Eh?”
“Eh Eh Eh?”
The fox was the first to cry out, looking at the figure and then at Su He.
The exact same appearance, the exact same temperament, it shrank its head slightly and asked the toad that followed, “When did your master die?”
Clearly, it was Su He’s body imprisoned before them!
Was this fellow an ultimate demonic presence in his past life?
Su He was astonished for a moment, then suddenly understood.
He had guessed earlier; Baiyin didn’t leave him so many corpse avatars simply for admiration, they must each have their uses.
Su He could sense that the corpse before his eyes was at least a fusion of three bodies.
His gaze penetrated the corpse, resting on something vague underneath it.
Tai Zu chuckled, “The Proof of the Xuanwu, indeed different.”
Not like the previous Turtle Kids, even with the Dragon Head imposed on the corpse, no clues could be discerned.
Tai Zu’s paw stepped down, revealing a passageway under Su He’s corpse.
“Leave your wife here for now, and come with me,” he said, glancing at Su He, “Don’t worry, my main body is in the Star Sea, she’ll be fine.”
Tai Zu led the way into the passageway.
Without thinking too much, Su He conjured a water bed with a lift of his hand, placing Ji Feixue upon it, telling the toad and the fox to look after her, and then followed Tai Zu into the passageway.
Inside, the passageway overflowed with splendorous light, seemingly ethereal, but every step felt solid beneath their feet.
However, for some reason, upon entering, there came a feeling as if embarking on a journey of thousands of miles for battle, as if once stepped upon, there would be no path of return.
As though preparing to fight tooth and nail with one’s back to the river.
Su He looked back at Tai Zu and saw his eyes, no longer clouded as usual, shone like bright beacons in the night, concentrated and staring ahead at the passageway as if there were endless beauty, endless memories there.
Su He said no more, and followed Tai Zu, curiously observing the flowing lights around him.
The lights kept striking Tai Zu’s Turtle Shell, attempting to bore inside him but were refused by Tai Zu.
Is this…
memory?
He couldn’t be mistaken, this was the memory light formed by an Immortal Sovereign Level being!
Su He had seen it before at Baiyin’s.
Seeing the light relentlessly pursuing Tai Zu, were these Tai Zu’s severed memories?
Puzzled by this, Su He had already followed Tai Zu halfway through their journey when Tai Zu halted and gestured ahead, “On the path ahead, it is not yet time for my departure.
If I ascend, I will not return.
You must move forward on your own, and when you reach the crossroads, do not stray.
Simply call for Mingzu and ask him to deliver the Qinghe Bead.
Once you obtain the bead, return at once!
Be quick.”
“Mingzu?!” Su He’s eyes suddenly widened.
That old turtle was indeed alive!
He just knew such beings couldn’t just vanish without a trace!
What was that old fellow doing hiding here?
Su He wanted to ask, but then he saw Tai Zu waving his paw, “Don’t ask!
Hurry, off you go!”
Su He swallowed hard, his shape shimmering as he transformed into the Xuanwu Truth Body and slowly walked forward.
The passage was too bizarre, even Tai Zu had to assume a more serious demeanor, deciding it was better to use his beast form, Su He was more accustomed to his beast body, his ability to adapt on the fly slightly stronger.
The Great Tao was resilient, with the Power of Time spreading throughout the passage, striding forward felt effortless, yet retreating required the suppression of the surging Power of Time.
For ordinary cultivators, it was truly a path of no return.
Su He moved step by step forward until he reached the end of the passage, where the path disappeared into nothingness.
Unsure of what to do next, a portal opened within the void, and a familiar, aged voice came through.
“Has it only been a year, and another Dragon Turtle has arrived?”
Following the voice, Su He saw outside the portal, a body as colossal as Mingzu Mountain, but this body was different from the one Su He had seen in Ancient Times, now scarred and battered, even the Turtle Shell was damaged.
Su He’s heart clenched, his gaze involuntarily skipping past Mingzu, taking a hurried glance inside.
There were mountains and rivers, but they were shattered, and above the landscape, the battered forms of the Dragon Turtle Tribe bellowed skyward, their Divine Skills striking at the heavens.
There was a great battle taking place!
On the mountains, half-submerged Turtle Shells belonged to the deceased members of the Dragon Turtle Tribe.
Yet, it was unknown what lay above in the sky!
Su He looked down to see more, but Mingzu’s imposing body blocked his view, as a pair of turtle eyes looked at Su He: “Little fellow, you’ve grown.”
There was a glint of relief in Mingzu’s eyes as he regarded Su He.
Su He’s breath suddenly grew ragged.
“Ancestor, here, this place…”
“Hush!” Mingzu interrupted his question: “Ask nothing, see nothing!
Don’t bring it back with you.”
“The agreed date hasn’t arrived yet.
You haven’t reached Opening Heaven Six-fold, so what are you doing here?”
Agreed date?
Su He didn’t understand but remembered Tai Zu’s words: “I came to retrieve the Qinghe Bead.”
Mingzu’s old eyes brightened, and a look of immense relief crossed his face.
He spat out a bead towards the inside of the passage, as if afraid the bead would rebound, and after expelling the Bright Pearl, he immediately closed the portal.
“Little fellow, cultivate a bit faster!”
Nothing remained inside the passage but the weary voice of Mingzu.
Su He was perplexed as he looked at the Bright Pearl and turned back to Tai Zu, only to see Tai Zu staring blankly toward the side of the passage.
His Dragon mouth opened as if to speak, but no sound came through; even his form was distorted, like a reflection in water.
Su He pocketed the Qinghe Bead, revealing the Star Ring on his body, pressing down the Power of Time underfoot, and leaped back to return.
Thunder and fire burst forth simultaneously within the passage, barraging toward Su He, trying to force him back, but the sovereign thunder and fire dissipated upon touching him, posing no obstacle.
Su He swam back through the currents, akin to swimming upstream against an invisible current washing over him, traversed halfway through the passage, and landed beside Tai Zu.
Tai Zu smiled, taking him along as they turned to walk outwards.
Unbeknownst to Su He, with every step Tai Zu took, the glowing passage beneath crumbled as if shattered, the thunder and fire falling upon him were being stamped into the passage with each step of Tai Zu’s footprints.
“Ancestor, on the other side of the passage…”
“Hush!” Tai Zu silenced him: “Speak not of it.
It will follow your words and trespass into this realm.”
Su He remained silent for a long while.
Who was the “he” the ancestor mentioned?
Another primeval being?
Blocked by the Dragon Turtle Tribe on the other side of the passage?
Was the adversary of the Dragon Turtle Tribe truly a primeval being?
“Ancestor, I saw the dead Dragon Turtles.”
Tai Zu smiled, his voice gentle: “All living creatures must eventually die, be it Phoenix or Dragon Turtle.
Who can live forever?”
After another moment of silence, Su He added: “It wasn’t just one.”
Tai Zu’s voice halted, even the chuckling ceased, and it took him a long while to exhale a turbid breath.
“Twenty-seven!”
Su He abruptly looked up.
He then heard Tai Zu’s voice, heavy with gloom: “Thirty million years, twenty-seven of them.”
And that wasn’t counting those young ones who hadn’t yet passed the Heavenly Tribulation.
