Chapter 605 Don't Chase

Northeast people building a courtyard will definitely have three things: a storage room, a livestock pen, and a chicken coop. Having grains and livestock in the same courtyard shows a well-off family and gives it a rural flavor.

The village chief's house had a storage room on one side of the gate and a pigsty on the other. People entering from outside the gate would face the house door with their backs to the pigsty and storage room.

As Ye Yang looked into the courtyard, the two corpses covered in white cloth actually sat up on their own. Covered in white cloth, they moved towards the courtyard gate on all fours, then suddenly split to the left and right.

One crawled into the pigsty, while the other stood up, opened the storage room door, and hid inside, closing the door again, leaving only a crack through which a white shadow could be seen.

Just as the two ghosts had hidden themselves, the villagers rushed into the courtyard. The person in the lead was terrified when he saw the village chief lying in a pool of blood. He held up a hoe and tentatively called out, "Village chief... Village chief..."

"You guys come over here..." The person in the lead originally wanted to call out to the villagers, but he didn't expect that there was no sound behind him.

The man was immediately frightened and, holding the hoe, shouted with a crying voice, "Where are you people? Where did everyone go? Say something!"

There was no one behind him. He had been the first to rush into the courtyard, and the people behind him hadn't caught up yet when the courtyard gate closed on its own, blocking the entire group outside.

Now, when he called out, who would answer him?

While the villagers outside the courtyard remained silent, the storage room door opened, and the dead man draped in white cloth walked out silently, holding a hoe. He walked step by step behind the trembling villager, raised the hoe over his head, and aimed it at the man's head.

However, the man's hoe seemed to be nailed in place, just held up like that, refusing to come down no matter what.

Ye Yang held the sword hilt with one hand, "Wang Butcher, go take a look at the gate. I'll keep an eye on things here."

Although Ye Yang hadn't had time to talk with Wang Butcher, he keenly sensed the strangeness of Mojiabao.

There seemed to be two invisible forces fighting each other in Mojiabao: one that wanted to kill, and one that was desperately suppressing the other. Ye Yang and Wang Butcher had instead become outsiders in this game.

Ye Yang remained still to see what exactly they were going to do.

Wang Butcher nodded slightly, went around the roof, leaped onto the courtyard wall, and then, stepping on the wall, jumped onto the left side of the gate, looking down at the outside.

The villagers standing outside were already in chaos, "Did you hear so-and-so calling for help? Could he have been dragged away by a dead man?"

"Smash the door! Lest someone die in a moment!"

"Who's going to smash the door? You go? If the door opens, what if a ghost comes out?"

"Didn't Old Granny say that if there's a dead person, don't open the door once it's closed? If you open the door, the dead person will come out. We can't smash it!"

"Then what about Little Quanzi? Just watch him die?"

The villagers outside were shouting loudly, but no one dared to touch the gate.

After Wang Butcher's eyes swept back and forth across the crowd, his gaze fell on the two people at the very edge.

Those two had been standing motionless outside the crowd, not talking to anyone. If anyone approached, they would retreat, always standing more than a meter away from the crowd.

Wang Butcher squatted halfway on the top of the wall and, with a single hand gesture, hooked a secret art outwards. The two people's hands immediately raised up, straight over their heads.

Someone happened to turn around and saw their strange action, "What are you two doing, raising your arms?"

"Look at his hands!"

"How did they grow two extra thumbs!"

The two people's left hands, raised over their heads, had all five fingers spread open. Not only were their thumbs the same length as their index fingers, but they also had a layer of thick black hair growing on them.

What those villagers didn't know was that those two people were the ones who had been chasing Wang Butcher.

The two fingers that Wang Butcher had sent out were not only growing from the broken wounds in the palms of the other's hands as if they had taken root, but they could also be controlled by Wang Butcher.

If Wang Butcher told them to raise their hands, they had to raise their hands.

The villagers below immediately exploded, throwing the things in their hands to the ground and running away.

However, as the villagers turned around, the two raised their right hands to grab the two demonic beast fingers, desperately trying to pull them off, as if they wanted to tear the fingers from their bodies.

After pulling twice without dislodging the fingers, they simply grabbed their wrists and twisted them fiercely. The sound of human bones being crushed was clearly audible, and bright red blood dripped down from their wrists, staining half of their sleeves in just a few seconds.

Wang Butcher was slightly shocked when he saw the two simultaneously roar and twist their wrists off, flinging them aside. With an arm spraying blood, they chased directly after the fleeing villagers.

Wang Butcher was about to get up when he heard Ye Yang shout, "Don't chase!"

When Wang Butcher turned his head to look, Ye Yang was already standing in the courtyard, with his long sword pointing at the corpse draped in white cloth.
