Seven-Step Prince

Chapter 1356 - Capítulo 1356: 1355: Baldness

Capítulo 1356: Chapter 1355: Baldness

As lunchtime approached, Ye Qiu originally planned to have lunch with the two girls at a restaurant near the Qinhuai River. After all, this area, being one of Jinling’s popular tourist spots, offered a one-stop service for food, drinks, and entertainment, with many restaurants to choose from.

Unexpectedly, Ye Qiu received a call from his mother, Chen Fang, asking the three of them to come back home for lunch.

After all, since Ling Fei had come to Peach Blossom Spring Villa for a few days, she was considered a guest. In such a case, it was certain that Chen Fang and Ye Xue would come back to prepare lunch, as it wouldn’t be appropriate to let Ling Fei eat outside.

“Ling Fei, Lingshow, my mom asked us to go back for lunch. Let’s head back.”

The two girls followed Ye Qiu into the car, and he drove back to Peach Blossom Spring Villa. Upon reaching the villa’s entrance, he saw Ye Xue’s car parked there, confirming that she had returned.

“Mom, Sis, we can just eat outside. There’s no need to go to such trouble.”

“Ling Fei is a guest, and so is Lingshow. How can we let them eat outside?” In fact, Chen Fang and Ye Xue were feeling sorry for Ye Qiu. Before the winter break, Ye Qiu could eat at the Jin University cafeteria, but now that the holidays had started and Ye Qiu was home, they felt obliged to come back from the Imperial Cuisine Restaurant to make lunch for Ye Qiu.

While Liu Lingxiu and Ling Fei went to help out, Ye Qiu sat on the sofa on the first floor watching TV. He knew that Ling Fei’s parents’ issue weighed heavily on her mind. The first thing to tackle was to have Ling Fei’s father, Ling Zhengwei, promoted, following the plan Ye Qiu had previously mentioned.

To get him promoted, they needed to first contact his superior.

The printing factory was now a joint venture between the state and private entities, but the top management was primarily under private control. In such a situation, to promote Ling Zhengwei, they would have to contact the highest-ranking leader of the printing factory.

If it were thirty years ago, Jinling Printing Factory would have been a prominent state-owned enterprise in Jinling. However, now it’s merely an insignificant joint venture. It’s commendable that it’s even still operational.

Ye Qiu didn’t know the leadership of the printing factory, but he knew other people who might.

He took out his phone, went upstairs to the second floor, and called Zhou Peng.

Zhou Peng’s network was well-connected, and he would likely know the leaders of Jinling Printing Factory.

“Director Zhou, it’s me,” Ye Qiu said after dialing Zhou Peng’s number.

Ye Qiu hadn’t been to the affiliated hospital for a while, so he hadn’t seen Wen Xin either.

Zhou Peng was pleasantly surprised to receive a call from Ye Qiu.

“Doctor Ye, it’s you! What’s the matter?”

“Do you know the leaders of Jinling Printing Factory?”

Jinling Printing Factory?

Zhou Peng thought for a long time before recalling the Jinling Printing Factory. As he understood, the factory nearly went bankrupt in 2000. Without private investment for reform, it might not have survived until now.

While hearing Ye Qiu inquire about it, Zhou Peng found it peculiar.

“I don’t know anyone directly, but I can find out,” Zhou Peng replied.

“Please help me find out. It’d be best if you could inquire who the highest-ranking leader is. I have matters to discuss with them.”

“Okay, I’ll help you find out soon,” Zhou Peng assured.

After ending the call with Zhou Peng, Ye Qiu didn’t delve further into details.

In fact, Ye Qiu could very well ask Li Qianqian. With her father’s connections, finding out about the printing factory would be relatively easy.

However, Ye Qiu wasn’t keen on involving Li Zhiguo and his wife for these matters.

Of course, if this matter could be resolved with money, Ye Qiu preferred to use money. He wasn’t fond of owing favors.

After the call, Ye Qiu came downstairs to find Chen Fang and Ye Xue along with the three women bustling in the kitchen. With four people cooking, the speed was remarkably fast.

However, Ye Qiu didn’t see Ye Weidong. Ye Weidong probably had no time to come back for lunch.

“Ye Qiu, your dad is busy with Boss Tang at the technical school looking for suitable chef training and won’t be back for lunch.”

Naturally, after hearing about it from Ye Qiu, Ye Weidong decided to personally go with Boss Tang to look for suitable chefs at the technical school.

Chen Fang and the three women prepared a very substantial lunch with eight dishes and two soups. With five people dining, they could certainly eat well.

“Ye Qiu, now that you’ve got a break, Mom and your sister will come back to cook for you. No need to eat out.”

“Mom, Lingshow can cook for me too. Her cooking is quite good.”

Upon hearing Ye Qiu’s words, Liu Lingxiu felt a bit happy but then appeared a bit embarrassed seeing Chen Fang’s gaze.

“Isn’t that improper? Yuehong might think you’re treating Lingshow as a servant.”

“Auntie, it’s alright. I have time right now,” Liu Lingxiu hurriedly replied.

After lunch, as Chen Fang and the three women cleaned up downstairs while watching TV, Ye Qiu went upstairs to play on the computer. Around two in the afternoon, he received a call from Zhou Peng saying, “Doctor Ye, the boss of the printing factory wants to see you.”

“Why does he want to see me?” Ye Qiu asked curiously.

“He has a strange illness that hasn’t been cured and wants you to take a look. It’s surprising that you contacted him first.”

A strange illness?

“I’ll head over shortly,” Ye Qiu replied.

Ye Qiu initially considered whether he should spend money, but now it turned out that the other party needed his medical expertise, reversing the roles.

Ye Qiu went downstairs, where Chen Fang and the three women were watching TV and chatting. Ye Qiu said, “Mom, I’ve got something to attend to at the affiliated hospital.”

“Go ahead. I’ll chat with Lingshow and Ling Fei here,” Chen Fang reassured.

Ye Qiu stepped outside, got into his car, and drove towards the affiliated hospital.

At that time, in the director’s office of the affiliated hospital, Zhou Peng was having tea and chatting with a balding middle-aged man in his forties.

“Director Zhou, you’re saying this Doctor Ye can really cure my illness?”

“Certainly, if he’s willing to treat you, there’s no illness he can’t cure. Mr. Lu, trust me. Doctor Ye is on his way here, and you’ll find out soon enough.”

“If that’s truly the case, it would be wonderful,” Mr. Lu said, rubbing his increasingly bald head. At this rate, he feared he’d have to shave it completely or wear wigs and hats to get by.

As they say, nine out of ten bald men are wealthy. Mr. Lu indeed was wealthy, but he felt his head was getting too bald.

While the two continued with their tea and conversation, Ye Qiu drove to the parking lot of the affiliated hospital, parked outside, and headed inside, bypassing Wen Xin for now and heading straight to Zhou Peng’s office.

Reaching the office door, he knocked and then opened it. Inside, he saw Zhou Peng and a balding middle-aged man smoking and drinking tea.

The middle-aged man had a well-off, portly appearance, but his bald head was indeed quite unsightly.
