Chapter 1351: Chapter 1350: Getting Along
Ling Fei and Liu Lingxiu actually have similar personalities, but due to her parents’ constant arguments, Ling Fei feels she has never truly experienced familial love. Meanwhile, Liu Lingxiu, because of her muteness, received immense love from her parents, who always tried to protect her from harm.
The difference between the two might lie in this aspect.
One never received parental love, while the other felt it deeply.
As Ye Qiu parked the car and got out with Ling Fei, Liu Lingxiu heard the sound of the car stopping and knew Ye Qiu had returned.
Coming out from inside and seeing Ling Fei, Liu Lingxiu greeted her first.
“You’re here?”
“I’m here to stay for a few days,” Ling Fei said, somewhat embarrassed.
After Ye Qiu and Ling Fei entered inside, they arranged for Ling Fei to stay in a guest room on the second floor. It was already dinner time by then.
“Shall we eat out or cook at home?” Ye Qiu asked the two women.
“Let’s cook ourselves!” Ling Fei felt it was better to cook at home if possible.
It’s clean, cheap, and quite endearing.
“I think so too.”
“Let’s go buy some groceries then.”
Ye Qiu and the two women went to the nearby market to buy groceries, just enough for the three of them. With Ling Fei around, Liu Lingxiu felt shy to ask her mother to join them for dinner.
After buying some meat dishes they knew how to cook, they returned to the kitchen at Peach Blossom Spring Villa.
Compared to the small kitchen in the apartment where Liu Lingxiu lived, the kitchen was not even four square meters because the house itself was quite small.
However, it’s different at Ye Qiu’s villa here, where the kitchen alone is about forty or fifty square meters, allowing multiple chefs to cook simultaneously if needed.
Ling Fei was visiting Ye Qiu’s place for the first time, and although she had long suspected that Ye Qiu was wealthy, judging by the car he drove, she couldn’t have imagined his mansion was even more luxurious than she thought.
“Ye Qiu, did your parents buy this house?”
Ling Fei asked curiously.
“I bought it.”
Ling Fei was taken aback.
She had always thought Ye Qiu didn’t have much money given his simple clothing, despite driving such a luxury car. She assumed he was just being low-key.
Naturally, Ling Fei also assumed all the luxury assets were gifts from Ye Qiu’s parents.
“I’ve known Lingshow since our first year in high school, she knows my situation best.”
If that was the case, Ling Fei felt a bit insecure, realizing how far apart she was from Ye Qiu, still working hard as a tutor to earn living expenses while Ye Qiu had already bought a luxury mansion and car on his own.
Ye Qiu intentionally left the two women to interact while he went out of the kitchen.
Although Liu Lingxiu knew Ye Qiu was a first-class cook, as the dishes at the Imperial Cuisine Restaurant were all taught by him, she understood it well.
However, Ye Qiu didn’t cook this time, wanting the two women to chat and get to know each other, a potentially good beginning for friendship.
Ye Qiu went upstairs to the second floor, opened his computer, and continued playing games. Now, it wasn’t just about playing games; he wanted to see how well the gaming company was doing. If most players started doing equipment trades with the company, it would mean a gradual path to success.
Moreover, the company’s first step was to accumulate clients and users. Though Ye Qiu invested about fifteen million yuan, which wasn’t much, they had to be frugal, so Li Shen and Zhu Zhiming were very cautious every step of the way.
Ye Qiu wasn’t using his usual ‘A Leaf Knows Autumn’ account but had switched to a small account to see the players’ situation.
Down in the kitchen, Ling Fei and Liu Lingxiu prepared three dishes each, and after both made a soup, dinner was ready.
Three people, six dishes, two soups, with a total cost of less than two hundred yuan, much cheaper than eating out.
When Liu Lingxiu went upstairs to call Ye Qiu, she said, “Ye Qiu, the food’s ready.”
“Okay.”
Ye Qiu got up and hugged the apron-clad Liu Lingxiu, asking, “What do you think of Ling Fei?”
“She seems easy to get along with.”
Both of their family backgrounds weren’t too different, so Liu Lingxiu felt they were somewhat on the same page.
Going downstairs with Ye Qiu, the two women, after preparing a meal together, had created a bond, not as good friends, but they felt they could get along.
Ye Qiu sat in the middle, with the two women beside him.
Ye Qiu first tried the pork rib soup made by Liu Lingxiu and said, “Lingshow, your pork rib soup is getting tastier, I really like it.”
“Then have some more.”
Upon hearing that the person she liked enjoyed the soup she made, Liu Lingxiu was immediately delighted.
“Ye Qiu, you should also try the duck soup I made.”
The duck Ling Fei used was quite a famous local duck, perfect for making soup with herbs, not just tasty but also refreshing and detoxifying.
Since the kitchen was large, with plenty of tools for making soup, both women could make their soups separately. With their soups nearly done, Ye Qiu tried Ling Fei’s soup and found it quite nice.
However, there was room for improvement, mainly in the proportion of herbs.
“Ling Fei, your soup is really good too, you should make it for me often in the future.”
Hearing Ye Qiu say that, Ling Fei blushed a little, but seeing Liu Lingxiu’s calmness, she felt relieved.
As the three of them ate, it was close to eight o’clock in the evening, and after a satisfying meal, the two women started cleaning up the dishes.
Once the dishes were cleaned, the remaining soup could be left for the night, knowing that Ye Weidong and his wife would likely have some late-night snack when they returned.
“Watch some TV first, then shower and come up to the third floor; I’ll chat with you.”
Ye Qiu headed to the second floor first, while the two women stayed on the first floor watching romance dramas. Nowadays, romance dramas were mostly from Thailand and South Korea, with the consensus being that the South Korean ones were more entertaining. However, guys found them quite silly, yet women of all ages, from teenagers to elderly ladies, would watch them religiously, always having tissues ready to wipe away tears.
Ye Qiu went up to the second floor, played on his computer in his room until about nine-thirty in the evening, then took a shower. After his shower, he read for a while. He heard a knock on the door, indicating Ling Fei and Liu Lingxiu had come in.
Having just reached the second floor, Liu Lingxiu found it even more luxurious than she imagined, unsure how much this mansion cost or when she’d be able to afford it.
“Have you bathed?”
Ye Qiu noticed that Liu Lingxiu and Ling Fei’s hair was still a bit damp, though almost dried, as the pleasant aroma of their shampoo and post-shower scents filled the air even before they approached.
