Chapter 1244: Chapter 1243: Bungee Jumping
They kept playing until the sun almost set, and Xia Tiantian still wasn’t satisfied.
Now the only activities left are bungee jumping and the Ferris wheel. However, there are more tourists on the Ferris wheel, probably because they think it’s much safer.
“Between the two remaining options, which do you want to do?”
Ye Qiu asked.
“I want to try both.”
Xia Tiantian replied.
Of course, Ling Fei certainly preferred the Ferris wheel because bungee jumping is so high up, and with only a single safety rope, just jumping off like that would send blood rushing to her head, making her legs feel weak.
“I think the Ferris wheel is a bit safer.”
Ling Fei said.
“Miss Ling, Mr. Ye, just look at the long line over there for the Ferris wheel. Let’s go for the bungee jump instead.”
Xia Tiantian pulled Ye Qiu and Ling Fei towards the platform that towers over the mountaintop, where only a handful of tourists were trying out the bungee jump.
Of course, this is a separate attraction, but the tickets Ye Qiu and the others bought included it. Otherwise, it would cost sixty yuan per person each time.
The three of them now stood on the platform, and when the two staff members saw them approach, the female staff member said, “Little girl, you’re too young to try this.”
The requirement here is that participants must be eighteen years old and have no conditions like high blood pressure or heart disease that can easily be stimulated. Seniors over sixty are also not allowed.
What?
Not allowed?
“Why can’t I try?”
Xia Tiantian asked.
“You’re too young, we’re worried you’ll have nightmares tonight.”
“I’m not afraid of anything! Besides, I’m not that small, I’m in eighth grade already.”
Xia Tiantian said, puffing out her chest.
The two staff members smiled at Xia Tiantian, but could only say helplessly, “Those are the company’s rules.”
“Can I take her with me?”
Ye Qiu asked.
“Well, that’s possible.”
This setup allows couples to be strapped together, jumping down while calling out each other’s names and shouting ‘I love you.’
However, the staff were still worried that the young Xia Tiantian might have nightmares or suffer a fright.
“I’m not scared at all.”
“Let me try first to see how it feels.”
Ye Qiu said.
For most people, regardless of age or gender, looking down from here, over a hundred meters high, would certainly induce fear.
However, Ye Qiu’s expression remained unchanged, which surprised both the staff and other visitors.
As they strapped him in and made sure everything was fine, the male staff member asked, “Would you like me to give you a push?”
“No, I’ll jump on my own.”
When the staff opened the gate, Ye Qiu stood on the edge. As Ling Fei closed her eyes in fright, Ye Qiu jumped straight down like diving, being flung by the rope to a radius of about ten meters.
At this moment, Ye Qiu felt a sense of flying, reminiscent of his time in Heaven, soaring back and forth.
Though in this world there are airplanes, there are no flying horses like there. It left Ye Qiu with a sense of something missing.
But now, he wasn’t truly flying; he was merely dangling, swinging back and forth with the support of the rope.
After a full turn, when the rope stopped bouncing, and the safety officer pulled Ye Qiu up, his demeanor hadn’t changed at all.
This impressed and amazed the two staff members even more!
“Mr. Ye, how was it just now?”
“It’s alright!”
Compared to his time in Heaven, this was nothing at all.
“I want to try it too.”
Xia Tiantian said.
“For this young lady to try, she must be strapped with an adult.”
The staff member said.
“Come on, strap us in.”
The two staff members reluctantly strapped Ye Qiu and Xia Tiantian in. After confirming there were no issues with the rope, Ling Fei saw them being pushed to the edge. As they were pushed off, Ye Qiu didn’t close his eyes, and neither did Xia Tiantian, though she clung tightly to Ye Qiu in fear.
Now they faced each other, and as they were pushed off, Xia Tiantian couldn’t help but shout.
“How does it feel?”
Ye Qiu asked.
“It’s exhilarating.”
Xia Tiantian said.
The wind roared around them, yet they could still hear each other clearly.
“Girls shouldn’t say it’s exhilarating, you know that?”
“I didn’t know.”
Xia Tiantian replied.
When the rope stopped swinging and they were being pulled up by the staff, Ye Qiu remained composed, but Xia Tiantian’s face was slightly flushed with an indescribable excitement. She wanted to go again but knew it was only a one-time chance.
Ye Qiu then looked at Ling Fei and asked, “Do you want to try?”
“I’m scared.”
She was truly frightened, as over a hundred meters is equivalent to several dozen floors, and falling would be certain death or injury.
Ye Qiu thought Ling Fei needed to toughen up.
“Miss Ling, jumping down felt great! Why don’t you and Mr. Ye try it together?”
“I, I.”
Ling Fei was still scared.
Ye Qiu already pulled her along and saw the staff saying, “Strap us together.”
With Ling Fei being a beautiful woman and Xia Tiantian the cute little one, the staff and other tourists looked enviously at Ye Qiu, who had just jumped with the little beauty and now was with the stunning one.
Ling Fei didn’t refuse.
They were face-to-face, with almost no gap between them, as they were strapped together; Ling Fei could feel Ye Qiu’s warm breath.
When Ling Fei’s hands were strapped around Ye Qiu, they were pushed to the edge, and the staff shouted, “Here we go.”
As they were pushed off, Ye Qiu kept his eyes open, staring at Ling Fei; it’s said eyes are the window to the soul, revealing one’s thoughts through their change.
When Ling Fei was first pushed off, she closed her eyes in fright, not daring to let go for a long time, until Ye Qiu whispered in her ear, “I’m by your side, what are you afraid of?”
Actually, Ling Fei knew that when she jumped off from the fifth floor during her university entrance exams, a twenty-something meter drop, her courage arose from desperation, not normal circumstances, in which she’d never dare to jump.
Upon hearing Ye Qiu’s words, Ling Fei opened her eyes and saw Ye Qiu’s presence up close, feeling an inexplicable sense of security.
Time after time, Ye Qiu had saved her. Otherwise, she wouldn’t know if she’d be dead or disabled by now.
