Chapter 1230: 1229: Improved Piano Skills

Chapter 1230: Chapter 1229: Improved Piano Skills

As the mayor of a city, Li Zhiguo would certainly have social engagements during work, and drinking is inevitable during these occasions.

So, when he returned home, Li Zhiguo definitely couldn’t drink anymore, and Lu Xiuyu also opposed his drinking, after all, excessive drinking is harmful to the body, and it wouldn’t be good to end up with alcoholic liver disease.

“Qianqian, are you not taking it?”

Ye Qiu asked.

“Who says I’m not? I’m going to keep it as a collection.”

Li Qianqian said.

After dinner, while Ye Xue was playing with Li Qianqian and Liu Lingxiu, Ye Qiu went upstairs to play games for a while, and when he came down, he saw these ladies preparing to return to the Jin University Campus, so Ye Qiu decided to give Liu Lingxiu and the others a ride back.

When Liu Lingxiu and Chen Meng got into Ye Qiu’s car, and Li Qianqian got into her Beetle, Ye Qiu drove towards the Jin University Campus.

Upon reaching the dormitory building, after Liu Lingxiu and Chen Meng got out of the car, Ye Qiu didn’t stay and backed out to go back to his villa.

Early the next morning, after Ye Qiu cultivated for a night and went downstairs to have breakfast, his parents and sister had already gone back.

Ye Qiu, after finishing breakfast, headed towards the Jin University Campus.

Upon reaching the Jin University Campus and heading to the classroom, he saw Su Luoluo, Bai Yun, and Hai Dong approaching.

When calling Ye Qiu out, Su Luoluo’s face was a bit red.

She had already heard that last night Ye Qiu took Liu Lingxiu and Li Qianqian home to celebrate and have dinner, but didn’t even invite her. Su Luoluo didn’t know what exactly Ye Qiu meant by this.

Does he really not like her?

Or does he really not care about her?

When Su Luoluo looked at Ye Qiu with slightly reddened eyes, Ye Qiu asked, “What’s up?”

“Nothing.”

Su Luoluo didn’t say anything and just pulled Bai Yun and Hai Dong away.

This left Ye Qiu a little puzzled, though he guessed it was probably because he hadn’t invited her to celebrate for his sister the night before.

Ye Qiu returned to the classroom to continue his class, as there was no need to overthink it, especially since it was Su Luoluo who was pursuing him now.

After the second class, Luo Yang and Ning Yun were preparing to play basketball.

The weather was starting to cool down, making it the perfect time for basketball, and these days, because of the Cuba event, many students were playing basketball whenever they had time.

“Hey Qiu, we’re going to play basketball, want to join?”

“Nah, nothing fun about it.”

Ye Qiu decided not to go.

However, being alone, he planned to visit the library, at least there were many books there to take a look at, as nothing else interested him.

Upon reaching the second floor of the library, Ye Qiu entered the reading room and discovered rows of books, many depicting the Fairy Realm, which Ye Qiu found amusing as these were entirely the authors’ imaginations, vastly different from the real Heaven.

Of course, it’s two different worlds and the connection had long been severed. If it wasn’t for his soul somehow crossing over to this world and inheriting the body of the original Ye Qiu, he wouldn’t have expected to be in this world.

As Ye Qiu sat there reading, feeling like he was reading a novel, someone patted his shoulder, and without looking up, he already knew who it was.

“How are you?”

Ye Qiu asked without lifting his head.

“You know who I am?”

“I recognized the scent.”

Lin Wanqing’s unique fragrance had come to Ye Qiu’s sensitive nose the moment she got close.

These days, Lin Wanqing hadn’t specifically sought Ye Qiu out, as she was busy practicing piano every day, mainly memorizing those piano pieces.

Just as Ye Qiu had mentioned, it was pointless to play beautifully without familiarity with the music score; only knowing those music scores was the foundational key.

Although Lin Wanqing noticed Ye Qiu hadn’t taught her anything else, she felt she had already improved in a different way.

She had just come out of the music room in the library and, seeing Ye Qiu alone, followed quietly. Seeing him reading out of curiosity, she came forward and asked him with a changed voice.

Unexpectedly, she was immediately recognized.

“I’ve memorized twenty piano pieces now, want me to play them for you?”

Lin Wanqing asked.

“No time, can’t you see I’m reading?”

“You.”

Lin Wanqing was almost infuriated, and could only sit beside Ye Qiu, watching him read that thick religious book.

After reading some portions, she noticed some male and female students glancing over from a distance, undoubtedly because Lin Wanqing was sitting with him, drawing so much attention.

It could be said that Ye Qiu was definitely the top figure on the influential list now, with Yun Xiang and the others ranking way below.

“Let’s go!”

Ye Qiu said.

Lin Wanqing quickly got up with Ye Qiu, heading towards the music room.

Back in the music room, several male and female students practicing piano stopped when they saw Ye Qiu and Lin Wanqing enter.

In terms of the best piano player, Ye Qiu surpassed even the music professors and piano masters at Jin University, so naturally, they stopped upon seeing him.

“Go ahead and play a few pieces for me, see if you’ve really progressed. Remember, don’t look at the music score, play with your heart, play instinctively, don’t suppress your emotions and insights, and slowly appreciate the composer’s mental method of that time.”

From Ye Qiu’s perspective, achieving a unity of person and music is what defines a piano master. Of course, a real master creates impactful new piano pieces instead of playing others’, no matter how well, that just makes one a piano artist.

While Lin Wanqing played, Ye Qiu and other students listened. Clearly, compared to last time, Lin Wanqing’s piano skills had indeed improved, and it sounded quite good.

After playing one piece, and then a second, after three consecutive pieces, Ye Qiu stood up and walked out, with Lin Wanqing hurrying after him.

She thought she might have played poorly, thus prompting Ye Qiu to leave.

“Teacher Ye, how did I do just now?”

“Your piano skills have improved, but it’s just barely passable; you still need to work harder.”

“Does that mean you’re willing to teach me?”

“Either fifty thousand Euros an hour, or memorize a hundred piano pieces first, otherwise don’t bring it up with me; my time is very precious.”
